From what I observed, tools were stored in drawers and then reused with what appeared to be minimal cleaning, like a quick spray of alcohol instead of proper disinfection between clients. I did not feel that proper hygiene or sterilization standards were being followed at this salon. Based on my experience, I would not return, and I strongly recommend being cautious and asking how tools are sanitized before booking here. To start the worker who did my nails was very kind but they just don't do the best here and give you the absolute bare minimum. My guy did not do anything to my cuticles but when he was painting he started to rip off my dead skin instead of clipping it and it made my skin bleed and scab. Also I asked for almond and they are so point and are each a different shape. I think for the price they could have put more time into them and focused more on the design instead of rushing. read more

I would like to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the pedicure ($28) I received at Top Nails. I arrived on time for my pedicure appointment, and the manicurist, whose name I was not given, was very unfriendly. The service was rushed, lasting only about 10 minutes, and she immediately put my flip-flops on before walking away. As a result, two of my toes were smudged. I will not be returning to Top Nails. On a more positive note, I highly recommend US Nails, also located on Los Angeles Avenue but on the other side of Simi Valley. My pedicure ($25) at US Nails was excellent and took a full 45 minutes. I believe US Nails prioritizes appointments to ensure quality service, so I would suggest booking ahead. read more

They were busy, but I would have been more okay with them telling me come at a different time instead of having me wait. My daughter (8) waited even longer. The technician didn't say hello or introduce herself, and the whole process, which was supposed to be relaxing, felt very rushed. They didn't clean under my nails or any of that. They almost immediately placed a walk in customer in a chair next to me. Every other chair was designated with COVID social distancing signs. I showed the nail tech what I wanted, and when she was done I had the thickest nails I could imagine. It was like having ten individual nails stacked and glued on top of each other. I asked the lady to redo them and she just laughed at me, said they were fine, and said she wouldn't redo them because her hands were hurting. My nails also started to hurt when I got home from the horrible job they did at this salon.
