I found Soldier 58 in the adorable town of Bordentown, and when I saw that they offer a class specifically on cabinet painting, I signed up for the following weekend. Joanna and Paul, the owners of Soldier 58, are the nicest people! They patiently answered all of my stupid questions, and really took the time to help me select the right color paints for my project. Paul and I looked at many, many samples together, while I tried to decide how to proceed. The two hour course was worthwhile, and I love the sample door that I painted- I can't wait to try the real thing! (And we were there for well over two hours, as Joanna spent quality time with each of the participants.) The shop, filled with painted pieces and unique finds, is really, really charming, and their prices are very reasonable. If you are in Bordentown, I highly recommend that you stop in.

They make them look like bowls of cereal, spaghetti, pies, ice cream, etc. But it's all candles! I've been inside a few times. They sell random candies and things like that across the store. They also sell sodas in the back room. They also have seasonal kitschy items strewn throughout the place. Usually pretty nice things for around the house for the holidays. They also sell a few very random kids toys. So if you have young kids, they will want every single one lol! Other than that, they have festivals on their lawn a few times a year. Usually 15-20 vendors selling seasonal items, some hot sauces, knives, pans, etc. They usually also have a live band! The house also usually sells hamburgers and hot dogs, popcorn and drinks... I do hope this place survives, it is a little kitchy and still needs to find their place, but I hope it succeeds! Also, really nice candles!
