I absolutely love this bookstore! Every single I time I come, I am able to find many books to…read morepurchase! I have been able to sell my books here as well and receive a credit that goes towards the books that I purchase. It is packed with many books but I feel like it was well organized from other bookstores that I have been to. I absolutely love their Christian selection of books! I always have pleasant encounters with the people who work here. I can spend my entire day here!

It feels so inviting in there. I love the children's section. All the colors and the wall decor is so fun. I've visited the Starbucks inside the cafe and it's pretty good but the one downside is you can't use the Starbucks app, but I know that's an overall B&N thing and not just this particular site. I do feel that they are typically understaffed and I realize this is a very small cafe but it gets extremely crowded in there and people are not always patient with the staff when they're clearly doing the best they can. My one negative about this B&N is that the black author section is very small and difficult to find. Maybe if it was in the main area more people would gravitate towards that section. Other than that, this is probably one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in a not so great mood and need a pick me up.

So I called out and ask her if she could help me find a book and again a very snotty answer. When you come into a store that is struggling rather than just ordering from Amazon to help a smaller retailer, one would expect at least good semi friendly customer service from the employees.

I went through 2 separate rooms and turned a corner and found more rooms with more books! The 2 ladies at the register greeted me as soon as I walked in and one even directed me to the are that had the books I was looking for. The books were reasonable priced. It'd been well over a decade, perhaps closer to two, since I last stepped foot inside a…read moreBooks-A-Million. I didn't know these stores still existed, but I hadn't thought about it either. The one in my hometown (High Point, North Carolina) closed a long time ago. I remember enjoying my visits there as a kid. This Books-A-Million in Statesboro appears to be alive and well, for the most part. When Three Tree Coffee Roasters closed early, we headed here. There's a cafe inside called Joe Muggs (the Books-A-Million cafe chain). Joe Muggs has indoor and outdoor covered seating and the bookstore has free Wi-Fi. In order to connect to Books-A-Million's Wi-Fi network, you have to log in using a social media account. I logged in using my Twitter account. This is the first public network I've connected to that required a social media account for connection purposes. They must want my data. The Wi-Fi signal at the cafe was good and the speed was sufficient for general web browsing and music streaming. I didn't try to stream any videos, but I did upload some photos and those took a lot longer over Books-A-Million's Wi-Fi than my considerably faster home internet connection. We stayed at the cafe for a few hours in the afternoon. The store saw a steady, but slow, stream of business. A lot of the employees just hung out behind the registers due to a lack of customers. There were a couple books we were interested in getting for my nieces, but sadly, Amazon had them at lower prices with free (Prime) shipping. It's this very reason why I wonder how brick and mortar bookstores like Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million have survived for as long as they have. Then again, they seemed to thrive in the 90s with business models that allowed customers to spend hours inside their stores reading books and magazines and not having to pay a dime. Wanting to give Books-A-Million our business, we asked the staff if they would price match Amazon. They said they couldn't price match in-store, but we could price match with Books-A-Million online. Why would we spend our time doing that (setting up a Books-A-Million account online and going through the price matching process) when we already had Prime accounts set up through Amazon? With just a few taps on the Amazon app, we'd have the books sitting on our doorstep in a couple days. The store itself was nice. It was well maintained and organized and had an up-to-date and well-stocked inventory of books, toys, games, and gifts. The men's restroom was clean. The staff was polite. While it has some things working against it, overall, I think this Books-A-Million is a fine place to come to to browse, shop, meet, hang out, and/or get some work done. Both the bookstore and cafe have a quiet, relaxed, and comfortable atmosphere. This Books-A-Million is located in the Statesboro Crossing shopping center with other national retail and restaurant chains like Hobby Lobby, Olive Garden, Petco, TJ Maxx, and Ulta Beauty. It's not far from Statesboro Mall and the Walmart Supercenter.

I enjoyed walking around and admiring how cute the space was. More enchanting than practical. If you are looking for something specific, I'd ask the guy who sits in the small hole left of the entrance before hunting for it yourself. I took my time strolling around and picking out 3 or 4 books to get to replace the ones I had brought and read on vacation and left in little libraries. One new, a few used, and I was out in under $40. They kindly put a store bookmark in every book, and the bookmarks are super hecking cute! It is the perfect bookstore, with friendly and helpful staff.

They had rooms filled floor to ceiling with every genre imaginable. It was like a game of book Jenga. Besides the trove of books, thy had so many charming gifts and trinkets that weren't just for bookworms. I bought almost all of my keepsakes from here. Because I'm surrounded by avid readers, I knew they would appreciate my presents. Service was top-notch! The staff really went out of their way to help me locate the books and gifts I was looking for. Plus, who doesn't love a bookstore with resident cats? They were adorable and it was hard not to pick them up and cuddle with them. But I know that they had a job to do and I did not want to interrupt their duties. If I had more time in Savannah, I would have visited E Shaver Books numerous times. But the two times I did, I had a marvelous time.
