If you're a bookworm on a budget, this is the place to be. Their book section is massive and you can find brand-new hardcovers for $4 or $5 that would cost $30 elsewhere. It's a bit of a treasure hunt and the store can be a little disorganized, but for the prices, you really can't beat it. Lmao this economy is trash. The upside is I get to (must?) find discount spots to keep my spirits and dolares up. I didn't even know what an Ollie's was or that we had them in NJ until someone in one of my camping groups posted a pic of this week's circular and Coleman tents were on sale. That's all I needed to see - we got in the car and worked our way over to Old Bridge. In the 30 years I've lived here I had never been to this part of NJ smh so it truly was an adventure. Anyways, Ollie's has food, textiles, equipment, seasonal stuff - beans, greens, peas, tomatoes YOU NAME IT (they don't but yeah). It looks like they get overstocks from Canada as I found some new flavors of rice and other varieties of products I use with Canadian labels. We literally just bought packaged food and hygiene items - I'm coming back for the tent, though. Service was friendly. We went on a weekday evening. I can't imagine weekend crowds. Time your visit wisely. The outdoor gear was awesome - one tent I'd been eyeing for $119 they had for $39.99. read more

I am an action figure collector, and Ollie's has become legendary over the years as a place where many toys would go on heavy discount (in one case a $125-ish toy being reduced down to about $50) and I was always sad that I did not have an Ollie's less than two hours away from me in Union County. Now after many years of regret, Ollie's has finally opened a store within a respectable driving distance of me! This store is HUGE and reminds me of discount stores I used to go to in the past such as National Wholesale Liquidators and Job Lot in NYC. I was impressed by how extensive certain sections were including an entire corner of the store dedicated to books! I was also happy to see that not everything on discount were old off brands. There are a ton of brand name items in this store (ex: Irish Spring Soap). The store embraces its "discount" message to the point where it even uses giant paper banners over displays to draw your attention instead of something professionally printed. There's a certain Kitschness to the store that I really appreciate. The prices are also very good. I did find one or two action figures that were anywhere from 40-60% off original retail price. A lot of the food items I saw were definitely about 30%+ below what you would see in a supermarket. I did subtract one star because the LINE was insane. I was there in the late morning and the line to get to a cashier looked like something out of Marshall's or Burlington. I only wanted to buy one item and after enough time passed I gave up. The discount wasn't worth standing 15 mins on line. Hopefully Ollie's can set up some type of fast check out lane or something to help expedite the line. I do intend to go back and hopefully I'll have a more positive experience in this regard in the future. read more

My review is more about an amazing employee. I went into Ollie's for the first time today to look at area rugs. I saw what I wanted hanging. I saw a gentleman who was sweeping the floors and asked if there was someone who could help me. He put his broom to the side and he helped me find the rug. He then proceeded to grab off the shelf and into my cart. We had a little chat and we both went on our way. A true kind gentleman. Thank you sir as I never asked your name. read more

It's a large discount store. Many items were reasonably priced. It's quite a distance from my home but it's worth the trip.

Really great place to get all household things . Also great seasonal sections . Can't wait till our next visit.

Great discount close out store. Lots of variety of things - stuff you didn't even think you needed at great prices, particularly detergent and cleaning items. I guess it wasn't a great time to go on a Saturday. No carts to be found and that's because they were in the aisles filled with stuff. It's a hit or miss here and I wasn't overly impressed with wha they had quite honestly. Decent size store. I would come back and check again because it's a typical discount store where things change frequently. If I could give them no stars I would. Place is empty. But there's no carts. Aisles are a mess. Bought 2 of the same items one was marked 3.49 the other was 3.79. She charged me both for 3.79. The prices are cheaper at Walmart. Will never be back. read more
