Never thought I'd need to right a review on a place like Barnes & Nobles, but was definitely less than satisfied with my visit at this particular location today.. This has literally been my local B&N for years & I know the layout of the store etc. My problem didn't stem from the products in store, I actually made out with an incredible deal with two chargers retailed for $99 & being sold for only $6! No, my problem stemmed from the rude af girl behind the cash register who berated me with her feminist/woke attitude I definitely did not deserve. All I said was that I have been shopping at that location for years & knew the stores layout very well, & she immediately adopted the most sarcastic, smart ass attitude with me & definitely was trying to make me feel uncomfortable. I kept my composure & stood through her lackluster explanation of a book series I already had no interest in, basically because I was still trying to process why she had an attitude with me in the first place lmao. I walked around the store for a couple minutes & decided to check out. She comes back up to the counter & ask me if I picked out the book she had suggested. I said no. She continues to start the process of ringing me up & noticed the $99 chargers are on sale for an incredible $6. I go on to explain how before I was telling her very helpful co worker how I'm very skilled at finding deals. She more or less tried to silence me talking bout "Hold on I need to focus on this". Focus on what? Reducing the price??? Then after I get out what I have to say, she hits me with the most sarcastic "GOOD FOR YOU"... lol. Her coworker was extremely helpful btw & didn't have any attitude what's so ever. Anywho.. I pay for my items & the girl Kyna (girl behind the counter) tries to play me saying " Would you be fine not receiving a bag, cause I don't have any big ones ". Come on now... You already started off very disrespectful, but tryna have me leave the store without offering me a shopping bag is flat out rude & unprofessional. I asked if they have smaller bags & low & behold she pulls out a bag that's perfectly sized for the items I purchased. I wanted to laugh at how unprofessional she was conducting herself with something as remedial as a shopping bag. I wished her a great day & thanked her & walked out. Always keep it classy. & now here I am on yelp with this stellar review B&N piece of advice, be mindful of the woke employees you decide to have ring up customers. You never know who's gonna walk through the door & who will take the time to shout them out on a bad yelp review. read more

What is there not to love about Barnes & Noble!? This was my first time at this location. This bookstore is conveniently located in a "shopping center" that includes "Macy's", "David's Bridal" and other stores within the same vicinity. I came here because like most people that come here - I really like to read and the tradition of having a physical book will never get old to me. Upon walking in, there are your typical "Sale Items" that always seem to catch my attention whenever I am walking into any "B&N". The range of topics are endless. Once you get pass the lobby, there are your magazines on the right, check out on the left and customer service right in front. If you walk pass the magazines, there is a "Starbucks" in the back which a lot of people that came here tonight seemed to be going. This location is very vast, there wasn't any book that I could not find. The staff/cashier was very helpful and there is also plenty of parking in front. There was literally nothing bad that I could say about this location and will definitely come here anytime I am in the market for a good book! read more

This store is alright. They sell a great variety of books in different genres. They have pretty much any book you want. However, I don't particuly see why this store is even necessary. Why go to the bookstore to purchase a book, when you can go to the library to get a book for free. I pretty much just come here when I have a gift card to this store. However, I never really would go to this store. Staff is okay. Certain staff have an attitude, or lose patience. However, later you see where the staff is right. The staff isn't very knowledgble about receipts, and if you don't have the receipt, the staff doesn't know what to do with the returned item, so they always get the manager. Which to me is a little unprofessional. Store is very clean, though which is a plus. Overall, it's a good store, but not necessary to me. read more

You know. It was always nice to have the small town stores. When the big box stores came out everyone was like, "this is so vanilla, small business is dead, my underwear is too tight!" This is one instance when I think the book buying experience has gotten much better. Want a children's book? right over here...want a magazine...oh that is over here...are you thirsty? no problem have a drink at our cafe'...bring a magazine...we don't mind. Kid's need entertaining? I've been here a few times before and haven't had a bad experience...until this year. I came in for an interview and was late(which was obviously my fault completely because I had been going on copious amounts of job interviews so I was a bit overwhelmed)I asked to see the interviewer and was greeted rudely by her complaining how I was late, overall she just had a very haughty attitude. After that, she told me to give her my name and I did and she said in a very condescending tone that she will "definitely" call me back if there were any more openings. Lastly, looking at the other reviews I would like to say that I am also a poc and was treated very rudely, but even if this wasn't a discriminatory issue, the woman, Michelle, definitely had a attitude problem and maybe if you do have an attitude problem, you probably shouldn't be working in retail. read more

The manager is very rude. We were just 2 quiet students trying to study, so we brought an extension cord to power up all our laptops. She just walked in and told us rudely, to ask us to remove it. Her face was very discriminatory towards us. Very bad attitude. I mean there are no rules posted that we cannot use our own extension cord, so we didn't know. She didnt need to be so rude to us. But the other girl beside me was of her skin color and she was not as cranky towards her as to us. I am very disappointed in this store, do not study here if you are not that skin color. read more

DO NOT GO. Worst Barnes and Noble I've been to. books by author aren't organized alphabetically. Starbucks was an utter sh*t show. The food case was completely empty when I went at 5pm, though it doesn't close until 10pm. Wait times more than TWENTY MINUTES. customers repetitively having to return incorrect drinks. I didn't receive one ofthe drinks i ordered. When I told the barista the milk in my iced coffee had expired, she yelled at me telling me it wasn't- it was trust me. Then I had to wait an additional 10 minutes to receive my remade drink. She slapped my iced coffee onto the counter, splashing it all out of the top, then refused to give me a new lid. read more

The cafe here is horrible. I don't even drink Starbucks that often. Now I remember why. Went here a few months ago with a Starbucks gift card and it wouldn't take it. Next, every time I come here with my credit card the machine doesn't process it and the cashier has to do it manually. Today was my last straw. I came in with my lunch from Chipotle and bought a drink here so I can have somewhere to sit, eat my lunch and read. The cashier said oh you can't eat your Panera here. First of all. It's chipotle and second of all, the sign says "for cafe customers." If I'm paying for a $3 drink (which is expensive), that alone should make me a customer. Our family loves the children's section where my son can play with the trains while parents read books. They recently took away all the chairs with some bogus excuse that it's a fire hazard. If that's true they should also take away the many shelves, tables, and racks that are in the way of the exits. We brought some chairs over and placed them in a non fire hazard area. So instead of finding a helpful solution, two rude workers decide to come over and take away the chairs from 2 senior citizens and a pregnant woman. Not to mention making a scene in front of an innocent 3 year old and other listening children. Great job Barnes. Quality customer service. read more

There is one woman here with gray hair and glasses who is very rude to customers and really ruins the tone of an otherwise great store. One time my mother and I had went to the store only to find out that they didn't have the book I wanted in stock. So the man at customer service had offered to order the book for us right there. We then took our receipt to the front register to pay for the book. Unfortunately the woman there was extremely rude when my mom had asked if she could use her debit card. Maybe due to the slight accent my mom has, the woman just responds with "I'm not SURE what you're asking," and just stares very coldly at the both of us. We were able to sort out the gratuitous reaction and I was willing to accept that maybe we were just caught up in someone else's bad day. However once I got the book and realized that I no longer needed it (I had found a better edition of the book I needed by that time) I went to the store again to return the one I got in the mail. Thinking that B&N is like other stores I go to customer service to see if I should return it there. The FIRST thing I tell the woman is that I'd like to return the book because I no longer needed it. She takes the book, scans it, and asks us if we had gotten it in the mail or at the store. I tell her we had ordered it from the store and were back again to return it (again). She then scowls at me, shoves the book back into my hands and says (and I remember because I almost cried at the register after she said this) "Here, take THIS. Take your receipt. Go to the front (where the cashier is)." She both spoke and looked very irritated within a minute of talking to her and treated the both of us like idiots. Thankfully the cashier was nice. It's just unfortunate that B&N has as rude an employee as that other woman. I think I'll only buy from Amazon in the future. Less hassle and spite coming from the computer read more

Starbucks manager is rude. There's a polite way to speak to your customers which she showed none of to me or my friend. I was using my laptop charged to an outlet 2 feet away. She stands in front of me and rudely says to us "No. This needs to go." She went up to other tables and spoke to other customers with respect however. Had a very unpleasant incident here. Whenever I visit my mom from DC we have a routine of coming here, perusing the latest books, and drinking coffees. This time a group of unattended young girls began peckering at us with laughs and hateful stares as we spoke Spanish. When their mom appeared, I told her gently to watch her children. She proceeded to curse at me and stare us down as we drank coffee and spoke Spanish. We left hurriedly as it was terribly discomforting to witness relatively open racism in a bookstore. I told the manager but she didn't seem terribly interested in addressing the situation though she did apologize (which really isn't necessary). I don't blame the staff, but I am posting a bad review to raise awareness and because I don't think Barnes and Nobles should condone intolerant behavior. I know they're not a library but there should be some sense of decorum in a bookstore. read more

The Starbucks Cafe here is terrible. I'm in the store often and the Cafe area where you sit is always dirty no matter what time of day. Floor is dirty and garbage all over. Even if the Cafe is slow, I don't see staff attending to that area cleaning and straightening out tables and chairs. Area where you add milk and lids is consistently a mess. Had 2 slices of cheesecake today and both were not good. The chocolate one wasn't fresh (cake part was dry and stale) and red velvet was tasteless. I think they were sitting in that refrigerator case for days. Cafe Staff isn't very pleasant. They don't smile or thank you for your order or if you leave a tip. I am sure the book I ordered is excellent; however, DO NOT order from Barnes and Noble. I ordered a brand new copy and was sent a used and damaged one. Calling customer service was a waste of time and I received nothing other than, "I'm sorry". They no longer have the book in stock, so my option was to return it for no book at all.
