Shopping in Virginia Beach, Virginia... I've known my friend since First Grade and I trust her totally. When she makes a suggestion, I listen and follow. She said that we should take a look at Ollie's. It's a discount shopping experience. There are all kinds of overstocked merchandise such as books, clothing, personal care items, pet supplies, gardening tools, snacks, beverages, greeting cards, children's toys, kitchen appliances, towels, linens, home decor items, etc. I found silicone gloves for cooking/baking, a shower caddy for my God daughter's bathroom, and gardening gloves for the beach clean up this weekend! Great deals! At checkout, the efficient cashier asked if I wanted to join the Loyalty Program - Ollie's Army. Sure! I'm looking forward to returning and getting more bargains in the future!

Nerd WoW popup book

I love OLLIES. Anytime I see one I visit. I grew up with an ollie's local to me up in PA, when I moved to VA they are far to none. I can always find something I don't need but play myself and say I need. This time I found a WoW pop up book. It's pretty cool. They've got vaccums pet beds and towers, shower items, school supplies whatever here you name it. And it's GOOD stuff CHEAP!! Becareful with the food items. Someone's is pretty lazy and hasn't removed expired food from April off the shelves and there's A LOT of it

How do you not love Ollie's. None are particularly organized in certain areas but you can always find some gems hidden up in here. I've got a huge board game collection and this place just added to it

I love their book selection. Even though they don't have a lot of mainstream novels, there are tones of lesser known titles to try.

K-cup 12-packs for only 3.99! (18 Packs of Maxwell House only 4.99!)

My first time ever in an Ollie's Bargain Outlet. Ollie's is set up like a chain discount store, and I would compare it to "Big Lots". Nice big store with alot of square footage. We saw many items in here today that I have seen at other stores in recent shopping trips, with the big difference: Much lower priced at Ollie's! What made the Ollie's trip cool for me today? 12-Packs of K Cups were only 3.99, and 18-Packs of Maxwell House K-Cups were only 4.99! That is a massive savings off of what Keurig K-cups usually cost.

Love this store. The first time I walked the manager said it would be my favorite store. She was right!

When our mom wore the necklase on Christmas Day, she noticed that it was irritating her skin and eventually cut her neck. I called and explained my concerns to the owner (Ann) and she said that I had missed the window for the refund. Being that i am in the service industry, i was taken back by her response. If there is one time of year that your refund policy should be extened, this is that time. Overall it was a horrible expierence and I could not believe how argumentative the owner was. I will never shop in this store again and would advise against buying "gifts" there.

My daughter & I entered, looking thru different items, as though we were not together. The saleswoman, not the owner, couldn't decide which of us to attack first, not whom to offer assistance to. I cut her off saying I was looking for a particular designer, she then set her sights on making my daughter feel out of place, as though she (or I) was above our financial means. Seriously, are you really going to profile in your hilltop retail establishment? Had heard this place had an attitude & definitely lived up to the hype. Will NOT be back here ever again.

I've visited this place several times and regularly shop at a few of the stores here. Every time…read moreI've made a purchase, the cashiers have been very clear about the return policy -- items must be returned within 2 days, and anything marked final sale cannot be returned. I appreciate that they consistently explain the policy so customers know the rules upfront. This past weekend, I went shopping with my mom on Saturday. On Sunday she asked me to return a pair of earrings because the closure wasn't secure. I went back to the store with the item and the receipt about 15 minutes before closing. When I brought the item to the counter, the interaction started with some not-so-inviting remarks. I asked the associate helping me if there was an issue returning jewelry, and she said there wasn't but that she needed to check the receipt because of the strict policy. Before she even looked at my receipt, another employee with reddish hair stepped in and said they had to be careful because people "try to get over all the time." At that point, my receipt still hadn't even been reviewed. I firmly explained that my mom had asked me at the last minute to return the item and that I really didn't want to come back out, but because of their policy she wanted to make sure it was returned within the timeframe. The other employee responded sarcastically, saying, "Well, your mom is right." The associate who was originally helping me then completed the return without any issue. Afterward, I quickly checked out at one shop and headed out since the stores were closing. As I walked toward the door, I could hear the same employee loudly expressing her frustrations, and when she noticed me she immediately stopped and turned away. I completely understand why a business like this needs to have a strict return policy, and I respect that. However, the commentary and assumptions made during the process were unnecessary. A simple, professional interaction would have made the experience much more pleasant.

While I was out…read moreshopping for my daughter's birthday, I saw a few people walking into the store and was very curious to see if I could find a cute gift for her inside. I was blown away with what I had walked in to, I'd like to think of it as an upscale flea market. The store included specialized gifts, decor, jewelry, clothes, home goods, paintings, record albums, snacks, candles, plants, art...all under one roof. You name it, they have it. After walking around for over an hour looking at each vendor, I decided to buy my daughter a pair of socks (they have an abundance of awesome socks) and fun snacks. As I was checking out, the lady shared that they currently have over 270 vendors within the store and that they change often. There was also a "Ladies Night" event that week which included amazing sales, live music and gift card giveaways! All of the prices were fairly decent as well. If you are looking for a gift for someone or just want to buy something for yourself, Painted Tree is definitely the place to go!!!

Finally was able to stop in and take a look while a friend from out of town was visiting this past…read moreweekend. They have a broad selection of items packed into this little store. Some antiques, some restored antiques and some new things. They had furniture, soap, decorative elements, some cute driftwood/recycled wood frames I have been looking for for a while, and some other items. All good stuff. We were mostly left alone to browse at our leisure which is fine with me, I hate being followed around while I stop and look and take Yelp photos. They didn't have a huge selection of items but what they did have appeared to be priced fairly reasonably and of good quality. If you are looking for some items you probably won't find at a local retail chain, this could be a good option.

The shop is full of fabulous finds and there's tons of room to walk around. I loved how it was spaced out. My husband and I bought a cute side table to go beside our couch at our apartment, a gurgle pot, and a cute seashell pillow for our couch. They'll paint a piece for you if you find a wood piece that you love elsewhere. I went here twice today just deciding on what to get and they're always getting new pieces in. They sell pieces by artists in the shop,, so you're bound to find something. There were tea towels, soaps, matted photos, and the list goes on. You could spend awhile just browsing and debating items.
