An amazing park. So much space for the dogs to run and play, I appreciate Moco offering a free location to enjoy the day with your pooch. Many other parks require entrance fees and the space is half of what Olney offers. Inside there are ample benches for humans to sit and relax. Plus a pavilion to offer up some shade too. There are trees throughout, and little signs; perfect to entertain the dogs. Plus an added bonus of a doggy play ramp as well. They hosted a kick off event, with Rivermist Pet Lodge, handing out free dog swag and giving a great opportunity to socialize your pooches, which really showed a community feel. read more

I like this park. New puppy parent here. I was very nervous with socialization because..well....let's honest....not everyone's dogs are as well mannered as they think. I'll be honest and say I am still working on my pup....but he is a pup. Good space to run around and plenty of nice people to talk to. I like that they have a separate area for bigger dogs. I did have another small dog bite down on my puppy here and made him yelp... not once but twice. The pet and owner left after the second time. I would def go back but perhaps when fewer dogs are there. read more

Wow! So this dog park is like a dream. No poop droppings ANYWHERE and the park has both grass AND mulch. The size of the park isn't exactly big like Cabin John Dog Park but it puts them in shame for how well maintained the facility is. I also loved how the park is separated for small and big dogs. It was nice how there was also multiple covered seating area. The parking area was also easily accessible and well maintained. Boy if only my regular dog park was as nice as this location!! And the dog owners were as nice as all the dogs I encountered there! I think I'd definitely come back on weekends when possible! Can't wait! read more

This is our new favorite dog park. It's so well-maintained and everyone has a good time! Lots of parking and dogs of all sizes are allowed on both sides. No angry lady yelling and policing here (like in the Columbia parks) owners are responsible and kind. It's free too! Definitely worth the hike from Fulton, we go about 3 times a week. read more

If you've been following me on Yelp you'll know that my life has recently been overtaken by a dog. My dog Lizzie essentially dictates how my days look. When I used to sleep in, now I'm walking 2-3 miles at 6:30 A.M, everyday. Times where I could lay low and rest on the couch I'm now at the dog park. Essentially, a tired dog is a good dog and I've found that if I incorporate a dog park into my schedule then Lizzie gets all her energy out and relaxes. A relaxed dog means no chewed shoes and no zoomies in the house. So on to Olney Manor Dog Park. I'll start with saying its easy to get to and has ample parking. It's secure in that all the doors to the park have a double gate system with quality locks. There is a big dog section and a little dog section. The size of the large dog park is much smaller than King Farm or Gaithersburg but its much cleaner that both. The ground is covered with wood chips opposed to grass which leads to much less mud. I went the day after a heavy rain and there was still minimal mud compared to grass parks. There seemed to be much less mess left by irresponsible owners (what I'm saying is there wasn't dog poop laying around). I think due to the size of the park its easier for owners to clean up after their dogs. If your dog poops 150 yards away from you at King Farm Dog Park sometimes it's hard to find. The only thing that I disliked was that there seemed to be much less running and chasing at this park. I believe this is due to the smaller size but it very well could have just been the group of dogs that was at the park that day. I didn't let that affect my review though. I'll certainly come back and see what another day brings us. It's a good dog park. read more

Best dog park in the area! The park has two large gated fields-- one for large dogs and one for small dogs. There are poop bags and a community water bowl for the dogs at the park. The park is keep relatively clean and the people are always very friendly. read more

Great dog park! One of the great things about this dog park is the separate sections for big dogs and small dogs. I have a 12 lb cavapoo and he absolutely loves it here. The area is general very clean with several benches and tables where you can sit. The owners are very respectful and friendly and I've never had an issue with overly aggressive dogs or irresponsible owners. There is a water fountain right outside the fenced in area with readily available poop bags throughout the park. read more

For the most part I agree with everything about this dog park that the other two reviewers mentioned. There is a ton of parking and it has a nice double door entrance so none of the dogs escape. It's simple and it works. The only problem is that when I bring my dogs to the park I want them to exercise without getting into fights. There are a fair number of the same people and dogs that come to this park often. One of my dogs always has a good time, but every now and then she gets nipped by someone. My other dog almost always gets in a fight with the same dog. I tried to tell her to just avoid that dog, but she won't listen haha! I'll probably just bring my good dog and take my other one somewhere else. read more

Will start off by saying this review is off of one experience. We brought our dog here over the weekend. Overall, the park is large, lots of parking, clean, and in a nice area. The dogs seemed ok when we entered the dog park. A number of owners were sitting and not really paying attention to their dog. What really bothered us the most, why we left after 15 minutes, and what is driving this review is, we saw a handful of dogs humping other dogs. The owner of the dog doing the humping didn't run over to stop the behavior and at least one of the dogs was not neutered. There were owners who were sitting and yelling their dogs names from afar, which indicated they knew their dog should not have doing that, but didn't do much beyond yell their names. Another dog ran up and ripped our dog's bandanna off and shredded it. I thought my dog was being aggressive, so ran up and grabbed him. Turned out, he was annoyed someone was coming after him. We ended up taking our dog home right after this incident. While I recognize this review is off of one experience and this may not be the case everyday, I will say, when we've gone to other dog parks (Wheaton and Cabin John), when owners have noticed their dog was behaving poorly, they've taken their dogs home or taken them for a short walk outside rather than continue staying and ignoring their dog's misbehavior. read more

This is a beautiful park . -It has a small dog park and a large dog park -friendly owners -fun dogs with different personalities. My Boston Terrier always finds a playmate. -poop bags - almost no poo on the ground -ample parking -great supervision by dog owners - No school age kids running around. I have brought my infant in arms, too the small dog enclosure and have had good experiences - beautiful views of a field and a lake -It's huge, both parks are huge. Cons: - hard to walk from the large dog park to the small dog park. They are adjacent, but there's no sidewalk adjoining the entry points (not really a big deal, but annoying) -It's all grass so you can't really go if it's been raining or snowing lately. My favorite small dog park in the immediate region because of its grassy surface and large space on the small dog side. As with any fog park, there are pros and cons. Cons are that most of the dogs we've met there are great, and owners are pleasant. Typical of so many split parks (big dog side, little dog side) is that many people ignore the 20 pounds and under sign, and bring much larger dogs in. There are also the over-protective "parents" who think dogs are children and freak out during normal dog play, etc. Then there are the oblivious, who sit engrossed in their cell phones, and pay no attention to their dogs. I have mixed feelings about dog parks. Trainers and vets hate them. People can be naive about dogs. But Olney has been mostly a consistently good park with owners who communicate and dogs who enjoy playing. If your dog doesn't like being sniffed or engaged in play, why even bring him/her? If your female figure isn't spayed, don't get upset when other dogs show special interest. It's what dogs do. read more

Very nice park, my dog comes everyday and it's the highlight of his day. Most people are friendly, most dogs are friendly, and they separate the smaller dogs and bigger dogs into two separate playing areas. Definitely bring your dog here for great exercise read more

I've been coming to this park since it was re-opened after the renovations were done. It has, for the most part, been well maintained. But now, in my last few visits. I have seen inattentive owners who don't pick up after their dogs and ignore you when you tell them that there dog just dropped a bomb. So now, there are "landmines" to be found in the most conspicuous places. read more

This is a decent dog park, but it is really small. The dog park is long and narrow... it could be much bigger to give the dogs more room to run. It is also kind of sloped down a hill. The people aren't too friendly, but what else can you expect for Moco? People pick up after their pets and there is not waste problem which is nice. The Good: - The park is huge! It's also divided into Big Dog (20+ pounds) and Small Dog (under 20) sides. Dogs of any size have plenty of room to run around at top speed, and there are also nice areas nearby to walk around if your dog needs a break from the excitement. - Poop bags are available and people generally clean up after their pets. - Parking is always available. - Benches, covered picnic table areas, trees, and water fountains! - Around 12-2pm there's a large, regular group of dogs and people there, which is nice if you want to be sure your dog will have friends to play with. The Bad: - I like this park but there is no place here for my dog. He is 60 pounds, almost 11 years old, has some arthritis in his hips, and he can't handle the 80-pound puppies knocking him down (literally flattening him to the ground) and chasing him all around trying to play. I've had to drag other people's giant dogs off of him so he can stand back up. Also, the Big Dog side is covered with wood chips, which he hates. I can see him flinching when the splinters stab him in the foot and he refuses to run and play on them. - He DOES like the Small Dog side, however. A lot of times the small dog owners will say it's fine if he comes in to hang out with them, so we do. He and the little dogs get along and he likes the grass. But last time I was there someone got upset about him being on the Small Dog side ("Can't people read!? Why is he not on the Big Dog side!?") so I don't think I'll go back here anymore, at least until it's too cold for most of the little dogs to be outside... read more

This park is great! The dog section is divided into two. One for the bigger dogs and one for small dogs. And it has grass. Previous visits to the Wheaton park have not been so great. Then I only had a shih tzu who is white and would leave the park a mess covered in dirt. And she would get attacked by the bigger dogs. Here in Olney the two different times we have visited she gets to roam around and be fine and leave with her fur white. read more

Plenty of parking and a solid amount of fenced in area for dogs to run around. Pretty simple layout but it works. It gets pretty busy after work and on the weekends, but usually it's the same people that go so that's comforting. There are separate play areas for large and small dogs, watering bowls and a large water jug for the dogs, and plenty of bags for picking up after your dog. The large dog park is mostly wood chips which actually makes pick-up easier. If you have kids, there is a playground nearby and a pond (stocked with fish) to fish in. For added convenience, there is a Starbucks, a pet store, a sandwich shop, and a organic grocery store directly across the street. Pretty convenient park if you're in the area. read more

I visited this park today. Plenty of parking with two areas. One for the large dogs and another for the small ones. The people are okay- mix of friendly and some not so. A few rougher dogs but I didn't see any aggression. Not the cleanest - had old dog poop and some owners acted like they didn't notice their dog poop. narrow down a slope where dogs seemed not to use because of this. Overall, not bad but if looking for larger area and wider range of dogs I would suggest John Cabin dog park. read more

very clean nice dog park. i like the doggie poo bags and trash can as funny as that sounds but the bags always seam to be instock and are so easy to take out and they are largeenough for a bigger dog:) and the trash has a lid on it with just a small circular opening that closes shut so it doesnt smell at all. also someone always fills the large container of water daily so the dogs will have clean water for the entire day. the area for larger dogs is mulch while the smaller dog area is grassy but both are still fantastic. there are several toys there already incase you forgot your pups favorite toy read more

I happen to be working in the area every Sunday morning during a couple month period near by. One Sunday morning, I decided to drag my partner and dog along. I had intended for them to enjoy the sunshine in the park while I worked nearby for a short 40 minutes. Fortunately, that one day my client decided to cancel and I was then free to hang with my family in the park. We parked by the large dog park first, not realizing the parks were separated by small and large dogs. The small dog park is further down and has it's own parking lot. We ended up walking down to the other park (not very far). The large dog park is a lot more busier during this time. It's all fenced in. You could tell the large dog space was damaged from constant use, but the small dog park was immaculate. Amazing. The area was clean and almost like new! My pup loved it. It's a good size space, probably about 1 acre between the two spaces. It's well taken care of and everyone seems to pick up after their dogs. Bag dispenser was full. It's a great park - but a tad too far from our home to go to on a weekly basis. But if I am in the area with my pup - I will definitely stop by for a quick run! read more

The dogs wer nice enough, but the group of elderly people were extremely obnoxious, making rude comments about some of the dogs and their owners. This made our first visit, probably the last visit. My suggestion would be to enforce some dog park etiquette. Or rather old fashioned etiquette, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. read more

We go to this park all the time. Nice owners and well behaved dogs. Owners clean up after their pets and park is well maintained. As others here have said parking is easy. Water is available for the pets and so are clean up bags. Both small dog space and large dog space are big and open. My dogs love this place and never stop running and playing. People have left or donated various balls for others to play with. Many pets and owners come often so you get to know your neighbors and pets. Just wish the county would put down additional mulch in areas that have washed away as some of the dogs love to dig and create bigs holes that can be unsafe. And after it rains these holes become impromptu swimming holes for my pups! They just love getting muddy! Overall a nice friendly place. read more

I went here today for the 2nd time in quite awhile. No other dogs were there which was good for my dogs because one has only been to a dog park once before and she was s little overwhelmed by the other dogs coming to check her out. I won't be going back anytime soon. As my dogs walked & sniffed I picked up 15 piles of poop which other owners inconsiderately left. It was disgusting. I left the poop bags from other dogs lined up on the bench as you first walk in (large dog side) to make a point. read more
