Think twice about going to Olympia Dental Associates! The office manager is extremely rude and unprofessional. On May 8, 2023, I was experiencing serious pain on the the left upper tooth and went to this dental business. And was seen by Andrew Wang, DDS, and an inexperienced Hispanic Assistant (no disrespect but, I do not remember her name). The tooth had to be extracted, and I had to be fitted for a crown. The African American girl sitting closest to the window came in before any work was performed showed me the charge for an implant and crown. And said, your insurance will cover 100% on crowns and implants $0 coverage. I choose the crown that was 100% covered by my insurance. Before Andrew Wang begin the tooth removal process he asked, if someone had went over the payment chart. I told him yes, and told him I selected the crown covered 100% by my insurance he said, ok. Despite the numbing gel I still totally felt the needle stick and medication going in my gums. The tooth removable process was harsh and uncomfortable. No one explained what to expect after returning home. I was not prescribed any pain medication therefore, the intense pain return later that evening and several days thereafter. I called Olympia Fields and explained, the left of my mouth was sensitive to cold, hot and everything that touched the area. I was asked to return and I did. The assistant left a large opening, made my temporary tooth and permanent tooth wrong. The tooth's and process were done over, including those painful injections by Andrew Wang. On today June 12, 2023, I returned for my tooth delivery. When I was leaving I received a bill for $2637.00. I asked why, and my crown was covered at 100%? The girl said, your insurance denied your crown because I had made a prior claim already this year. I told her this was my first time using my dental insurance. I went to my car and called Humana Advantage, the represented said, it was denied because they put in a crown not covered by the insurance. I asked why, would you refer me to a dental office that do not use materials used for crowns not covered by the insurance? She said, all dental offices have the same materials covered by my insurance and they chose to use materials that was not. I asked, the Humana Representative to remain on the line until I go back inside and share that information with Olympia Fields Associates representative. The office manager came out of her office and invited me in. The Humana Representative tried to explain; my claim was denied because the material used for my crown was not covered. And Humana told them during the verification call the crown covered under my plan. The nasty rude unprofessional office manager said, with the Humana Representative on speaker "you can leave my office, I have nothing further to discuss with you. The Humana Representative said, I will filing a complaint against Olympia Fields Dental Associates. This is called a BATE AND SWITCH, you showed me the cost chart and I signed for the work and crown covered at 100% by Humana. ***THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER*** This office was listed as a provider that accepts my insurance made the appointment and was told later they don't!! I decided to try them anyway They canceled my appointment due to their air conditioning going out after I'd taken off work. I started going here after Dolton Dental was "milking" my insurance and "found" 5 cavities in one year, when I only had 5 cavities in my whole life. I got a very comprehensive first time visit and was told my teeth just needed a cleaning. I have been going here since for the last about 7 years and still get a great cleaning, thorough exam, and feel comfortable having them work on my teeth. You won't be disappointed going here! PLEASE GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!! This is the worst set dental experiences I've ever had. This office has been horrid since Dr. Dawes left and they moved to the new office. One top of spending 30-40 minutes of each visit sitting in the reclining chairs after the hygienist says it'll be a few minutes but before the dentist shows up EVERY VISIT. They also change the charges, overcharge VS your insurance and they change the out-of-pocket costs of procedures hoping you don't notice and you have to call them on it if you don't want to overpay. AFTER ALL THE CUSTOMER SERVICE BEING ABYSMAL THE DENTAL WORK IS ALSO SUBPAR! THey have had to replace my temporary crown because they misfit it and then it fell off multiple times because it falls off the same day they put it on. The one time It fit well, they had to pull it off to retake impressions when I asked the tech if they should retake the impressions before they put on another temp. The worst part is the way they've shaved down my tooth a piece of bone from my root canal is inside the hole of my extraction meaning it won't heal and close AND i don't have anchor for my permanent crown. After speaking to their billing department a month ago to explain how I paid up front more than is owed (paid $125 at the office, insurance clearly stated I should pay $107), I'm still receiving an incorrect bill for an additional $230. Received no response when emailing. Had to call to (I thought) correct these issues. Wish I would have checked Yelp prior to my visit. Somehow Google reviews show a much higher rating. read more

There is complimentary wi-fi so I've been able to bring my work laptop in and be productive while waiting to be called back, but the wait isn't that long usually. The front desk staff are pleasant. And the team providing treatment are amazing. Questions are answered without making you feel dumb for lack of better words. I went to this office for around a year and a half before switching to another dental group. During my time with this group, there were a couple things that struck me in a negative way. First, they consistently overcharged for services. For instance, my insurance covers 100% of fillings, yet they always tacked on an extra $20-ish dollars per filling that they claimed needed to come out of my pocket once insurance paid up the initial claim. I thought maybe I missed some details in my insurance information, except when comparing bills with my husband (on the same insurance), they did not charge him extra. No further explanation was given to me from the office. Second, the dentist I was paired up with (who is no longer with the practice - they seem to have quite a rotating cast) would not listen to me one bit. This was probably the biggest negative aspect for me, yes even worse than the overcharging. This dentist consistently brushed off every answer to every question he asked me, as if he knew more about me than I did. Save yourself some time and don't waste a year and a half here like i did. read more

Administration is very rude! Had a situation where we have two insurances. First they told us that they do not accept that, which is not true. After all this confusing come to find out they do. Then we maxed out on the coverage for work but the insurance stated we still get 2 cleanings a year regardless that we d not have to pay for. The office wanted us to pay up front. We both called the insurance company together and the billing person said she did not believe the insurance company and if we wanted a cleaning we had to pay out of pocket. I've been going to this office for years with no problems until now. I went for a cleaning back in February 2021. They have been constantly sending me a bill for a service that my insurance covers 100%. They sent the claim to my old insurance. Dr. Balaney is the only one that deserves any stars. Jelente seems to be the only competent staff member and I did enjoy dealing with her. Raeshell has a horrible disposition, my daughter nor myself hasn't had any good interactions with her. She always seems to have an attitude problem. Otherwise the front desk staff is completely new and oblivious. My family of four had been being service by Dr. Balaney for about a year. Since then the office has went through drastic changes, seemingly all down hill. Communication about your child's treatment is amiss. They now have you pay upfront for your services which is tacky, due to previous situations where something couldn't be completed. My husband had to go back 3 times for a crown that constantly didn't fit. Yet they were looking for payment. As much as we all really loved Dr. Balaney's work, the surroundings elements are complete trash. I went in for a cleaning and some work months back yet somehow they forgot to do my cleaning. For some reason it took over a month to get an appointment for my daughter. Which is now her last appointment and our last appointment there. They give you dry apologies and act clueless. We no longer feel valued as patients and none of us will be returning. Although Dr. Balaney does great work the staff takes away from the experience. read more

So this was my third visit to Olympia Fields Dental Associates in 4 months (don't judge me, lol)! I love it there! When you get excellent care and you love your smile as much as I do it's understandable. This time I was there for my first ever in office teeth whitening. My teeth are already pretty white, but after the treatment they are prefect! I literally feel like a celebrity with my new smile. The absolute best part of this experience is that it was absolutely pain free! Prior to going in to see Dr. Roshan and his team, I had researched several horror stories of Yelpers who went to other dentist and left with their teeth in extreme pain. Many suffered from discomfort from tray placements, severe sensitivity and temporary gum discoloration. With that said, I was prepared to feel a little discomfort and pain. I searched at least 30 reviews from dentist all over Chicago and all of their customers listed this as a common side effect. To my surprise, I didn't feel anything! Olympia Fields Dental Associates is truly a modern state of the art facility, specializing in the comfort of their patients. The whole process was different than what I was expecting per my prior research. My gums were entirely covered by a heavy-duty mouth guard that fit super comfortably in my mouth, thus there was no risk of gum discoloration. Next, they put a topical treatment on my teeth and turned on the Zoom light for increments of 15 minutes and magically perfection was created! I literally slept through the whole process. Mind you, I never use to sleep at the dentist for fear that I would wake up with no teeth. However, I can truly say they've earned my confidence and I can trust them with my smile. I will post a couple pictures of my pearly whites! If you want to maintain your glamorous smile, visiting Dr. Roshan and his team is a must! Dr. Roshan does all of my checkups, but I actually had my teeth whitened by another young lady, who was absolutely fabulous! She was super knowledgeable on the process and took her time to explain everything to me in detail. She walked me step by step through the procedure and kept checking on me every step of the way (only to find I was sleep, lol)! She did a very thorough pre and post evaluation of my teeth and even showed me in the mirror, per a shades test, where my teeth were even whiter and brighter than before we started. I have been going to this practice from when they first took over. Originally they were very pleasant and very personal. Now since they have grown to multiple offices, they are neither anymore. They want their patients to be professional, but they lack the same professionalism from themselves for their patients. With appointments, on several occasions they are running behind scheduled appointed times. A simple sorry and we are experiencing a _____ minute wait would be professional. But don't dare let the patient be late or you will face the unforgiving office manager. On other appointments scheduled with specific dental personal, the dental personal has been switched without any notification. The statement was made that they are just as good. If this is the fact, then all of the patients could just go to any dental office because it would be just as good. I must say my husband and I are very disappointed with this office. No management was available for complaints after being called with cancellation of the appointment that had been booked for 2 weeks in advance. After waiting weeks to reschedule the appointment, to get there and learn we were booked for one service and discover time was only allotted for a lesser service. After three weeks i am still waiting to hear from upper management or the corporate office. Our insurance has been billed for the dentures so now going somewhere else is not an option. If we do that the full amount would have to be paid out our pockets. We are between a rock and a hard place. However, they have been paid by our insurance. We are not feeling good about the way we were treated. They have received payment. My husband lost a days pay every time we visit that office. And this includes lost pay on a last minute cancellation. If we cancelled less than 48 hours we would be billed a cancellation fee. This was my 2nd appointment with Olympia Fields Dental. I used to go to Summerset Dental but they were sold and everything was transferred to OFD. I have gone to Summerset for several years and have had no problems. I always make 2 appointments, one for me the other for my mother. Are bills were always around $68 each. This time mom was $273 and $290 for me. That's when they notified me that they no longer take Careington Insurance. Luckily, my company just got BCBS. They took care of mine but I still had to fork over $273 for mom. The office manager kept saying sorry. This was hard to believe since she had no facial expression or empathy and neither do the girls behind the desk. They were extremely hardcore. Went for my first appointment last week and everyone was very friendly and easy going. I explained to the hygienist how I dread the dentist office. She was very calming and she talked me through the whole procedure while HGTV played on the little flat screen in front of me :-)! Thank you Allison! I came in for a painful tooth (had to switch dentists due to insurance). Dr Bahl was very professional by explaining exactly what was wrong, how I can fix the issue and what to expect in the future. While in the chair for a examination, you can watch TV to take your mind off of the procedure. I was over billed for an implant over a year ago. They have gone through three different account managers since then and my issue STILL has not been fixed. All they do is tell me I owe them money and then call back and apologize because they did not merge their ledgers from the previous service they used (I had a $117 credit that I used towards a crown since they didn't credit the finance company I used for the implant). I am so over it, I'll just suck it up and stick with the over payment. Dr. Wang is absolutely amazing, but they don't have their books right. They also tried to tell me my insurance was late on paying them when they never sent in the claim to begin with. Once I informed them of that, my dental insurance that I had at the time quickly paid them. I have also submitted to them PROOF that I over paid them at least 3 times for this same issue. On top of the multiple phone calls, no one ever calls me back. They lost my business and I would not recommend them to anyone unless they double check and get a written amount of what they owe at time of service. That was my first and LAST mistake. read more

Bad experience! 1st visit, crown prep. Staff not very personable but hey I'm not there to make friends. 2nd visit, crown placement. Receptionist forgot to check me in, sat in waiting room 40 minutes, get a call on my cell phone from the office asking where I am, uh, sitting in front of you. My dentist gives me the novocaine in my bloodstream, I have a reaction & he leaves the room. The hygienist had to give me an ice pack & tells me to take deep breaths because my heart is racing. 10 minutes later, the feeling subsides & the dentist gets started. I have to get a total of 6 shots to finally get some what numb & it's finally over. I get home & find there is a huge silver spot on my crown that doesn't come off and was told "the Dr. said you were ok with it." Absolutely not ok with a crown that looks like it had a filling. About a month ago i received a call from OLYMPIA FIELDS DENTAL ASSOCIATES from a very friendly receptionist asking about my dental health and stated that they had not seen me in a while and would i like to come in for a cleaning . I replied that i had been busy working 60 hours a week at my job and didn't have time and told them ill try to come in but may not make it if I'm busy so this young lad y made a appointment for me . That appointment was for a thursday i asked the receptionist to give me a reminder call , i didn't receive one. So today i received a bill from this office for fifty dollars stating fee for missed appointment. Can you believe this I was solicited by this company through phone call and charged for missed appointment, there is something terribly wrong with these business practices ,its rude and absurd . So i called the business manager at this office and tried to resolve this issue , she informed me that upon my next visit she would correct this , well I asked her would she correct this issue now, why should I have to come in and patronize your business so you can address a issue I'm presenting today? The business manager told me to have a nice day and hung up the phone. So looking back at this in hindsight I feel the only interest this company has in me is a monetary one. If your going to charge a fee at least provide a service. These actions in my humble opinion are just plain wrong!
