I stood there staring at them unimpressed and they just ignored me. I finally walked up to a clipboard on the other side of the counter and someone told me not to sign in there. I signed in the right clipboard and took a seat along with about 25 other people. The room was packed. When I got back to be prepped, I mentioned to the nurse doing my IV that I had small veins that collapse easy. She told me I shouldn't say that because it gave her anxiety. Like, wow. Ok. I'm pretty anxious already heading into surgery and not feeling welcomed as it is. Then my doctor never came to see me to discuss what he would be doing. The nurse said, did he talk to you? And I said no and she said, well he signed off on your paperwork. I had to literally tell them I wanted to see him. After the surgery, again my doctor did not come talk to me about how things went and when I asked the nurse what happened during the procedure she didn't know. I asked for the doctor then and she said he was already in his next surgery. I literally felt like cattle being moved in and out. I assume the surgery was successful so there's that. But otherwise, this was an AWFUL experience. Not warm, friendly, reassuring, or personal at all.

We arrived by medical transport and, from the moment we entered the Emergency Department, we were greeted with kindness, professionalism, and compassion. The security staff welcomed us warmly, and the receptionist greeted us with a smile that immediately put us at ease during a very stressful time. I would also like to recognize the registration representative who assisted us during our visit. Even while handling the administrative and insurance aspects of our care, she was patient, kind, professional, and reassuring. Families arriving at an emergency department are often worried and overwhelmed, and her willingness to help made us feel supported from the start. To our surprise, there was virtually no wait time. We were brought into a room almost immediately, and the quality of care we received was outstanding. Nurses Jasmine, RN, and Susana, RN, were compassionate, attentive, and professional throughout the visit. They treated my elderly mother with dignity, respect, and patience, ensuring she was comfortable every step of the way. We were especially grateful for Dr. David Kruse. Dr. Kruse was thorough, knowledgeable, kind and genuinely compassionate. He carefully reviewed my mother's extensive medical history, recent surgeries, rehabilitation stay, and prior hospitalizations. He performed a comprehensive examination and ensured every necessary precaution was taken to rule out infection, pneumonia, and other serious concerns. His calm demeanor, attention to detail, and concern for my mother's well-being gave us tremendous peace of mind. At the end he even brought her a syringe and distilled water so she can get hydrated through the feeding tube. In addition, my phone's battery was dead. He personally took my phone to charge it. Not many doctors nowadays do these acts of kindness. I wish doctors are taught more and more compassion, kindness and empathy. Bed side manners are extremely important not only in the hospital setting but also in the emergency room and doctor's offices. I would also like to thank the two radiology professionals who came directly to my mother's room to perform her X-rays. They treated her with kindness and respect throughout the process. My mother has endured months of hospitalizations, surgery, rehabilitation, and numerous medical appointments, and moving an elderly patient can be difficult and uncomfortable. Their gentle, patient approach was another example of the excellent care we experienced during our visit. Before we left, Derrick kindly assisted my mother into a wheelchair with patience, professionalism, and genuine care. His kindness did not go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated. I would also like to mention that this was not our first visit to the Reston Hospital Emergency Department. Over the years, and especially during my mother's recent health challenges, we have experienced emergency room visits involving long waits, extended delays, and admissions where we remained in the Emergency Department for hours awaiting placement or a shift change. We understand that hospitals are busy and that emergency departments face tremendous demands every day. What made this visit different was the remarkable efficiency, teamwork, professionalism, and compassion shown by Dr. Kruse and the entire team caring for my mother. From arrival to discharge, every person we encountered treated us with respect, empathy, and genuine concern. They saw not just a patient, but an elderly mother and a daughter doing everything possible to care for her at home. Over the past several months, my mother has endured multiple emergency room visits, surgery, hospitalization, and rehabilitation. As her daughter and caregiver, there have been many moments of exhaustion, uncertainty, and worry. During this visit, the staff gave us something we desperately needed: reassurance, confidence, and hope. My mother is a retired teacher who has lived in Fairfax County for more than 40 years. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to educating students, volunteering, and serving this community. Seeing her receive such thoughtful care meant more to our family than words can express. Dr. Kruse and his team have earned a loyal supporter in our family. Thank you to Dr. David Kruse, Jasmine, RN, Susana, RN, Derrick, the radiology staff, the registration representative, the receptionist, the security staff, and the entire Reston Hospital Emergency Department team for providing outstanding care during a difficult time. Your professionalism, kindness, and dedication will not be forgotten. With heartfelt gratitude, PK Fairfax County Resident and Daughter of a Grateful Patient

Antonio quickly greeted us at the door and helped get us checked in as new clients. He was incredibly pleasant and patient with us as we juggled the new surroundings with our daughter. The office is very modern and full of things for children to do while they wait. They even have a small theater for movies (so cute that they have star lighting in the ceiling in there). The area where we took our daughter to have her teeth checked/cleaned was well organized and ready with further entertainment/distraction while they patiently counted and inspected her teeth. Dr. Lynda was warm and inviting as she greeted us and our daughter. She even sang while doing her exam. After examining her teeth, she was able to explain things to us in a manner that we understood. From there, we were directed to Maria who discussed further treatment and was also very patient with us as we tried to entertain our 2 year old while having a conversation with her. So far, we have enjoyed our first experience with this practice and look forward to seeing them again.

We wasted precious time, resources and money here. The doctor there told me that my son had a severe lip and tongue tie and that he was being referred immediately for a sleep study and to a cranial osteopathy doctor. Weeks went by. No one called. I followed up with Ashburn Children's Dentistry several times and was repeatedly told that I would be sent the information for my son's referrals to my email. Never received anything. I called and left messages. They stopped returning my calls. So like I said before. It was a complete waste of our time, resources and money. Ashburn Children's Dentistry took our money and did nothing for us and my son is who had to suffer from their negligence.

She eventually had to get out of bed herself, crying, just to find a nurse, even though she should not have been walking without assistance. Her nurse, (Johnathan) did not properly check on her throughout her stay. He also assumed she was in severe pain and administered a very strong pain medication stronger than morphine without adequately communicating with her as Spanish is her first language . She had a terrible reaction to it, becoming extremely dizzy and vomiting. My grandmother has serious health conditions and should not have been left waiting or put under unnecessary stress. During this time, her blood pressure rose to 195, which is extremely dangerous and could have led to a heart attack or stroke. This experience left our family feeling that her safety and well-being were NOT a priority. I strongly encourage anyone considering this hospital to do their research beforehand and carefully consider where they take their loved ones, especially elderly family members who require attentive care.

But Dr. Alan Lee and his staff made short work of the difficult procedure and I could not be more pleased with the result. The aspect of this visit that made it worth reviewing in a public forum is that I had several questions and worries about the treatment/procedure, and was able to engage Dr. Lee directly and privately on those, and he responded immediately, clearly, expansively, and kindly. This is what we should look for in a health care provider. Someone we can trust. I would think that anybody could count on EE and the professionals there for exceptional medical care and, atop that, actual care for you as a human being. I arrived to the office and figured I'd be waiting a long time with the number of people in the waiting room but that wasn't the case. I was taken back and my history was taken then followed by Dr. Newton coming in. He did a complete exam on my back and asked further question from my history and discussed game plan. He knows how insurance companies can be so wrote orders for xray, mri, and PT just in case my insurance company refused further treatment until PT is completed. He gave medication for muscle spams and a stronger NASID to get me through until I am able to get the scans done. Overall a great visit and would definitely recommend. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because it took the PA 2 days to submit my prescription to the pharmacy. I understand each location has one person in charge of this and my appointment was in the afternoon. However when in discomfort I just figured it would have been completed that day if not the next morning. And I received no response to my portal messages. So my tips include: make sure you complete paperwork online prior to visit. And ensure your prescription is sent the same day or try and get a paper one to take yourself (this isn't always an option).
