DO NOT COME HERE!!! If I could give ZERO stars I would. I waited over an hour and a half and was not acknowledged at all whatsoever. The staff and students were super passive and did not communicate anything. When a friend of mine asked how long it was going to take, the man at the desk had no answers and could not give us a timeline. When I called they blamed it on not having a front desk person, but regardless of, plenty of staff were at and around the desk and showed no hospitality. Some people went before my party and had gotten there after us. This establishment has no organization and absolutely no consideration for its customers. I am highly disappointed in this facility. Visiting Olympus Beauty academy gets you exactly what you expect. The workers are all students in the process of learning. Don't get me wrong they did a wonderful job everything came out great but don't expect a perfect job or fast work these people are still learning and we are here to help. So if you don't mind waiting and going through a learning process definitely go by. The prices are super cheap and affordable so if you want something expensive that you can't afford at a different salon I recommend this beauty academy. I would also like to add that you can request specific stylists and I recommend Santi they did a great job with a balayage style and had a great attitude, very attentive! read more

Pretty bad service for customers. They took me 45 minutes late with no explanation. When I inquired, when my service was to start they said they were switching me to another student that had less experience in spite of me requesting the first one. The blow out ended up to be okay but it looks like they aren't teaching good customer service skills. Probably won't return. read more

If I could rate this place a 1 I would , I was a student here and it was by far the worst school environment ever ! The staff is terrible don't really know how to teach ! The teacher mrs Anna was very ugly and rude towards every nail tech that I knew never wanted to help us always acted like it was so hard for her to hear us out and help kinda sad ! My nail instructor mrs Adrianna "mrs a for short" very poor teaching experience didn't know how to run things properly! You would think they would put someone who knows how to do nails as a teacher ??? And the kits the school gave us ... all expired definitely not worth the 900$ I paid for the kit , everything was expired and worked poorly ! Not to mention dirty this school is bathrooms are always dirty and gross Definitely save your money and go to. Better school . read more

If it allowed me to give less than one star I would. I have had some bad experiences with my hair before but nothing could or ever would compare to this experience. I had thought going to a school would be more affordable for my budget and that even though they are students the instructors had to be around helping & assisting in any way they could. When I walked in they had me fill out a sheet asking what I wanted. The student came to me very excited for my highlights. We went back to the chair and she asked what kind of highlights I wanted. My student had pretty much what I was looking for. The natural brown still underneath the hair as well as a subtle highlight by the roots. I wanted to keep as much as the brown as possible but still get nice & blonde. The student proclaimed that this was her specialty and that she enjoyed doing these kinds of highlights and came back with bleach. Yup that's right bleach. She began bleaching my hair explaining that in order to get me that blonde she would have to bleach. Except she started with the roots which was virgin hair, which I also made very clear in the beginning. My roots turned a bright yellow & my ends were copper. During the application & processing I knew something was wrong but I just sat there. The student discussed very personal uncomfortable things with me about her past, didn't really allow me to talk, because she couldn't stop talking about herself. Then while washing the color out of my hair she pressed her breast on my face over & over again making it extremely uncomfortable for me. Especially since I had asked her to please be careful with my face since I had work at 4:30 and had already applied my makeup. While washing me out she said she was going to leave everything as is and have me come back in a week. I couldn't believe it. I told her she needed to fix me, so after taking all the color out they proceeded to put the color right back in. I had work at 4:30, there were 3 students on my head at once, pulling and breaking my already extremely damaged hair. If I would have left that way my boss would have sent me home for the night. I called the next day & had them take me in the following Saturday to fix everything for free. The second student who was very much professional still just didn't understand what it was that I wanted. She did a color & highlight in one but instead of darkening my color she kept the same copper and applied the color to get rid of the green and highlighted the rest. Although the experience was better than the first I just wasn't happy. I wanted nice subtle blonde highlights, very light and very smooth. So I went to see Miss Eryn and her wonderful students at Callas Beauty Institute. She color corrected my hair and brought me back to what the bleaching had originally did giving me a blank slate. I've been going there for several years now but no longer. Students currently there are always late and have no common manners, must be the new generation of millennials. Was never like this years back. Don't know if instructors changed or no longer care but need to get these students on right path. On one occasion I arrived at opening time and first student arrived 45 minutes late. On last visit a student left equipment at home and borrowed from another student. What's the purpose of going to the Academy if you don't have your equipment with you. Lastly is this an Academy to teach and learn cosmetology or is it a Dog Babysitting service, so many dogs brought in by students/staff that it's very disruptive to everyone around. Just waiting for an incident with one theses dogs to happen. read more

If you're considering Olympian for schooling let me tell you about my experience as a student. This is the most unorganized and unprofessional school/place of business I've EVER been to. I'll give you some examples. All students were super unmotivated and lazy, but to be honest I don't blame them. They watch the staff and "instructors" act the same way. Ms.Anna is the laziest person I've ever met. I'm not sure what all she does in a day besides take multiple cigarette breaks. I'm not sure if she's sick or something but she treats everyone as if they're her personal assistants. You can hear her through the halls screaming for jojo (the janitor) whom she has running around for her. Her daughter Sophie is her assistant and honestly Sophie is great she works hard I just feel bad that she's there to do the stuff her mom doesn't wanna do. Ms.Anna gets mad if you're out of dress code but walks around with out shoes on. Michael (the director) seemed pretty upbeat when I first met him, but he did have surgery on his back, so lately he just seems uninterested and doesn't care much about what goes on. Ms. Lenoir is rude as all hell, she walks around the place like she's better than everyone else when in reality she's never even there. Honestly, her boyfriend is there more than her and I have no idea why considering it's a school not somewhere to hang out. He's literally there when she's not, it's super odd and he makes people uncomfortable. Ms.Jill is never there either so I can't even comment on her she takes days off like there's no tomorrow. Ms.A seems alright it seems like the nails techs all liked her and I've never seen her miss a day. Although I can say they would get frustrated when they needed her for something and she was always taking cigarette breaks (with Ms.Anna). Mr.Johnie is heaven sent and helps anywhere he can he's always so positive and upbeat, probably the only real professional in that building. Ms.Wanda never leaves her desk. She'll sit there the whole day and not do anything. Jojo the janitor is an awesome guy too he works so hard and helps anyone anyway he can. He deserves a raise with the stuff they have this guy doing. The drama with the cosmos is insane!!!! They're all a bunch of haters. I hate working around them, they hate taking clients they'd rather sit there and talk shit about each other. The customers are mostly older people who are rude af and feel entitled. Those are my observations and i just thought I'd share. At the end of the day it's your decision but remember, Tuition isn't cheap and this will be your everyday life if you choose to come here. I wish I had done more research before I started I definitely would have went somewhere else. read more

The worst financial decision of my life so far. Do not let yourself or anyone you care about get talked into going here. On my first day of class an employee advised me and other people I started with to try to get out of my contract ASAP. I should have listened. One boy tried that day and they said that if he quit that day he would owe $3,000 for that one day! Naturally I was intimidated by that amount so I talked myself out of walking out at that amount, hoping it would get better. I'll tell you right now that it didn't. The curriculum was disgustingly unorganized. The way it is set up is downright dangerous. They do not teach the physical work along with book work associated with it at the same time. This is an issue because the students aren't learning any sanitation measures or health precautions before learning how to do a service. I was treated with little to no respect by the woman who is in charge of this location. I felt like I was in a prison rather than a school that I was paying over $18,000 for. My instructor couldn't care less about her job. I know this because she told us. I found myself helping other students with the little knowledge I had attained from CEC in high school. Again, I was about to pay over $18,000 for this. The only person who was any help was the assistant director who wouldn't mind if I grabbed him from his office to help me learn something because my instructor who's job it was to teach me failed. The kit I received was trash. The plates of my straightening iron did not even touch or even get close to each other, making the tool useless. After two months of this, the amount that I would owe if I quit got up to $8,000. It was a loss I had to take because there was no way I would be able to find a job with that kind of education. Please do your research before signing up for any private school like this. Don't let them lie to you. Don't be afraid to ask students that have been there for a while how they like the school. Ask to physically see the kit you may be getting. Don't settle for pictures of it. Ask for instructors credentials. Ask to look at the rule book and contract beforehand. Heck, I would even go as far as to take the contract home and read it overnight before signing anything. Understand the way their curriculum works. SHOP AROUND! Education is a huge investment. It's the difference of finding a job that will pay you $10 for a hair cut or $80 for a haircut. I really wish I never made the mistake of going here and I wouldn't wish anyone else to make the same mistake. read more

If you're looking for a nail school, go somewhere else. The nail teacher says she hasn't taught nails in 15 years, which shows. She barely teaches us anything and when we have questions she barely ever knows the answer to them. Us students have had to teach each other and help each other cause the teacher can't. Not to mention THEY DON'T DO GRADUATIONS. For most of us going here, this is the only college we're ever going to go to and it feels like they brush off us graduating like it doesn't mean anything. Not to mention they play favorites. I've seen the staff get balloons for specific students on their graduation days but barely acknowledge other people for theirs. The most they do when we graduate is gather around the computer and count down from 10 till we clock out for the final time. It doesn't feel special. They don't make us feel special. We should not have to be dealing with this and an instructor that isn't up to date with anything in our career when we are paying $9,000+ ! Literally all we've learned differently as nail students is sanitation. The staff is nice and so is our instructor, I couldn't as for anyone nicer than her, but when we are paying this much we should get an experienced teacher. :( read more

I really don't like to post negative reviews and I know they are just students learning but when you spend 2 1/2 hrs for a set of nail and they don't even last 48 hours it's a problem. The first nail popped off just 2 hrs later, then 2 more within 24 hrs then 3 more within 48 hours. I guess I'm really posting this so that the instructors will be aware and they can correct the problem so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. Like they say you get what you pay for so lesson learned and I'll be taking my daughter to a professional salon. However on a positive note while waiting in the lobby for 2 1/2 hrs left I saw plenty of people leave with very nice color jobs & haircuts. read more

I have been going here off and on since 2007 for various hair services including cut, color, style. I have been very pleased with the results. My most recent visit was this summer and I found the school to be perked up and there were once again quite a few students. I believe ownership and or administration changed awhile back. Remember students will be working on your hair to gain experience. Don't expect perfection or speed but based on my experience expect to be pleased and to have been an important part of a student's learning process. These students are motivated, paying people who want to have a new career in cosmetology. read more

These students really know what they're doing. I've been extremely impressed each time I go in and have decided that for as long as I live in Albuquerque, I will go nowhere else. Each student that has worked on my hair or has done any facial waxing on me has been very attentive to detail and has been a breeze to talk to. The instructors walk by periodically (Once every 5 to 10 minutes) to monitor the students and make sure they're performing their art correctly, and the students are open to constructive criticism. They do not just teach simple cuts before they let the students loose on the floor (unlike some other places), and instead teach them in the Phase 1 and Phase 2 rooms before letting them achieve a position in the salon. This University has been absolutely spectacular, the prices are great, the students are lovely to talk to and well-trained to boot. I'll give them a 5 star rating every single day of the week. read more

Absolutely horrible. So disappointed. My mom and I have been going to this school for 5 years now. And we always request for seniors to cut and dye our hair. But since January until now, the 3 times we have gone, the female professor with short dyed hair of blue/green/pink and is covered in tattoos is so rude. She gets so annoyed every time the student asks for help. If the student can't ask a professor for help then who do they ask?! The professor doesn't even know what she's doing. She completely butchered my hair. Now it's crooked. I can see the left side is clearly shorter than my right side. No layers. Just chopped up hair. And when I asked her to fix it or the student, the professor just said sorry it's too late now. You're the teacher! Shouldn't you know what to do to at least not make it so thick and choppy and straight?! She did it to me 3 times in 3 different months. I thought maybe she was having a bad day the first two times but now I'm convinced that she just hates her job. Today my mom went back in to get a trim and the same professor did it again. Ridiculous. She was never like this in the past. And for the front desk. The blonde woman that signs people in and out is rude too. Back in March I made a trial appointment for a hair styling and makeup for my wedding and the girl didn't do a good job so I didn't go with their company for my big day. Ever since, now when I come back she literally roles her eyes and stops being nice. She's really snippy and walk away all the time. Before I made the trial run, she used to joke around and suggest good senior students. These people can't separate their personal lives and their work lives. So disappointed. I used to love this place and now I can't stand the thought of it. I'm now moving my business to Aveda. read more

I've been coming here for years. Lately, I've seen the student population drop, and also the Instructors. Im not sure if that's a good thing or not. I was in last week, and wasn't too sure about my hair color services. my color came out fine, the student did an excellent job but its the staff that didn't seem to have to confidence. the older blonde lady couldn't seem to figure out my color formula. they had lost my previous color cards and they were trying to color match me. Mind you, Im a warmer blonde and for some reason she kept recommending and Ash base color. I like to stick to the golden tones. luckily ive always written down my color formula, when I pulled it out to show them the Instructor claims that wasn't the color because I was "cooler." maybe its just me, but you seem to have more happy,confident and better skilled Instructors in the past.
