This is such a beautiful hillside park adorned with drought tolerant landscaping that makes it feel like a peaceful retreat. The upper level has a small children play area. The middle level is for kids 5-12. The lower area has a skating zone and basketball court. The little kids area have an interesting two person swing. The middle level has a cool looking slide that is recently taped off. The fake grass hill was fun to slide down on card board. There are covered tables for eating in the middle and upper section. There is limited street parking and no restroom. read more

I love that this is a neighborhood park! Pros- good size grassy area, lots of shade, my 2 year old actually had a ton of fun at the skate park on her scooter even with older kids bouncing around her, the kids were so mindful of each other it was really great to see! Cons- street only parking, no bathrooms, equipment was all over the place, the hill that folks slide down on is very steep! and goes right into a large jungle gym, the zip line was challenging to get on and off and pretty intense for ages 5-12 imo, but kids were loving it! My daughter enjoyed this park a lot! It was very busy for the long time period we were there with her friend. I do feel like this park is probably for ages 4+ as the equipment leaned more toward jungle gyms, one tire swing, two (never enough swings) interesting looking adult joined baby swings, a couple spinners, one huge scary looking slide that was under repair, a huge zip line and two concrete slides. We came with a friend and tried the swings, the concrete slides, a little climbing on the jungle gym, we did slide down the hill with the girls and sent them down with one adult at the bottom to catch them and it was a little scary! We also tried the zip line with the girls on our laps but needed to assist each other to get on and off. Would love to see more swings up top around the grassy area and maybe moving the jungle gym at the bottom back and actually creating a large slide on the part where folks ride their cardboard down to prevent injuries read more

Excellent park, very well taken care of. Very nice area in Encinitas. I went to interpret at a school and that is how I discover this park to have my picnic lunch. It has various levels and is perfect for activities for children as well as nice relaxing time for adults that can enjoy the views, the plants, awesome picnic spots and also a laberyth path. I didn't see any red room and parking outside was limited. Those would be the minus of this otherwise amazing park. read more

Cute, nice walking path, beautiful flowers and trees. Nice touch with the reflexology path, it does work. We wanted more of a dog walk and there was a nice dirt trail in the neighborhood. Nice playground area for kiddos plus zip line and looked like a skate ramp. read more

What a fun park for kids of all ages! We stopped at this park on our way to LA from San Diego. I'm so glad we did. There is so much that they packed into this little piece of land. great use of the hill and multiple levels. There's a basketball court, dog park (for big and little dogs) skate park, zip line, socal-esque sledding hill, play ground and walking path. We truly didn't even get to see all of it. There were tons of families enjoying the day. And if you have kids with a wide range of ages- you can bring them all here and they can find something to do. My daughter loved the zip line and the hill. There were tons of cardboard boxes for the littles to use to sled down. It was so fun! No parking lot, so everyone parks on the street along the park. read more

Took my nephew here and had a great time! The park had super unique playground equipment compared to what you'd expect at a typical park. We spent about 2 hours here and the entire time, place was packed with kids to play with. Cardboard hill slide was a HUGE hit! I was very impressed as all the kids were super respectful and careful when sliding down the hill and there were very minimal collisions to what you'd expect. Play area in the park is not too extensive so it is easy to keep an eye on your kids and with so many parents around, the play-space felt very safe. This park was an absolute gem of a find! read more

Thank you to the Yelp reviewers for their post about this park. My kids enjoyed it, mostly for the zip lining as they must have rode it a dozen times and sliding down the big hill with a cardboard box. The park is maintained very well. Everyone picks up after themselves. read more

What a great dog park!!! Little but mighty. They have a large and small dog side. Dog poop bags, picnic bench, water, fountain for dogs and humans, and shade. All of the dogs and people were friendly. Real grass, and a nice tall fence There is a lot of Street noise since it's right next to the highway. But not so much that you can't hold a conversation. Will definitely be back. read more

Seriously love this part. It is awesome and there's something to do for everyone. There's an enclosed dog area. There is a skate park. There is a little turf Hill that you can bring boxes to slide down. There are climbing gyms and a lot more. A lot of fun for a different ages. read more

We loved visiting this park when we were staying in Carlsbad ! I will say this is a neighborhood park not a big public park. I think I was built for the housing on top of the hill but you can still visit . There are no bathrooms that we saw and parking is very minimal, like room for maybe ten side of the road parking. I will say this was a super cool park . It had a dog park that had two separate areas one for big dogs and one for small dogs. Basketball court and skate park which my little guy loved cause he is new to doing tricks and I loved they had more of a smooth shallow pool and then a deeper one on the other side. I will say when came to the actual play area I would say this is really built for kids over 4-5 years of age.. my 4 1/2 did fine but if you have a 2 year old or younger maybe not the best spot. I will say at the top of the hill this park has one of the coolest swings I've ever seen !! I wish this was at every park, (I'll try and give a pic/ video below) .. read more

Basketball court review. This court is a literal waste of money and space. Hoops are significantly too high, insanely bouncy structure to the point that a normal jump shot makes the whole backboard wiggle for a minute, crazy stiff rims which seem to be angled up and seams on the court floor. Not to mention the fence is maybe 6ft tall and there is a huge opening in it that faces the street so you will probably lose your ball and hit a car or cause an accident. What a poorly executed public basketball court in a very affluent area. Also the hoop is on eastside, so sun right in your eyes in the morning. Do better! Extremely frustrating court. Such a cute and fun park! The best part are the hills and slides for cardboard sliding. There is also a small dog park on the far end, an upper playground and a lower playground. There's a skatepark and a zip line (the zip line was broken). The bad thing about this place is the parking. There is very limited street parking which forces you to park farther away I to the more residential area. Another con is where you can actually park. Some other helpers have shared by hey got tickets by parking at the upper entrance even though there were no signs. So I'd say park at your own risk. read more

I've been waiting for Olympus Park to open, ever since construction first started. The wait, in my opinion, was well worth it! This is such a nice park in such a lovely neighborhood. There are slides, play sets, swings (tire/regular/infant variations), a zipline, a skateboard area, a grassy area for dogs, and this super steep hill that kids (read: people of all ages...myself included!) love to slide down on cardboard boxes. And the gazebos, oh, the gazebos! There are multiple seating areas available, which makes it the perfect place for a picnic. Parking used to be a problem, but now it's much more manageable. I recall the zipline being briefly out of order, but now it's fully operational. It's truly a beautiful park, and I highly recommend bringing children here. read more

Went here for the first time last week, and every day my son has asked to go back to the slide park! The highlight of this for us was a big slide hill, with a big tube slide, concrete slides, and a turf slide hill. People had brought and left cardboard, which made the concrete and the turf really fun. I even tried it a couple of times. Also things to climb on, a path to walk, and skate and dog parks. Big covered picnic area is nice! Unfortunately no bathrooms. We will be back, the child demands it. read more

The park itself was very inventive and unique, but the placement was horrible. There's no parking other than curbside through a hoity-toity neighborhood, so do not park on the private roads. Also there are no bathroom despite the price tag to build this place. This playground is definitely not for little toddler, although many young toddlers were there. Everything is steep, huge and meant for slightly older kids. There wasn't even a tot lot section. I saw a lot of kids face plant at the end of the grass hill and I just see the ER bills pilling up in my mind. I was a nervous wreck all while holding my painfully full bladder. That being said my 4 year old loved this place despite me being frantic about the hazards. He loved that stupid giant death trap slide, he loved sliding down the grass hill after I meticulously poised him to hold on and aimed him pin straight ahead to avoid spinning and wiping out. He ran up the hill dozens of times and begged to stay. I can't say I'll make this drive often but I'll probably be back with a therapy bill for my anxiety and a bucket in my car for the pee. Love love love this park! I don't know why anyone with kids would give this place anything lower than a 5 star. This place is so tucked away, yet it's almost right next to the freeway and houses I cannot ever afford! Let me break this place down for you. If you have 5 and under kids, you'll want to stay at the top of the park. If you have 5-12 kids, you'll want to stay in the middle of the park. And anyone over 12, you have that zip line and the skate park in the bottle of the park. Yes, the zip line works currently (As of Jan 2023). There is a covered picnic area in the middle right next to that slide. Yes, that big slide and the slide hill where you bring your own cardboard. We actually came here when it was raining so we didn't get a chance to try it out. However, no kids were present. Free parking on the street along the park. Lots of beautiful manicured plants along the walks of the park. Bring some coffee and baked goods, make a half day out of it! read more

This park is too fun! Lots of things to do. Skate park, zip line, basketball/pickle ball court, dog park, slides, cardboard hill sliding, tire swing, etc. If you follow the path up the hill, there's a grass area and a couple of swings for parents and toddlers. There's also a few tables up there where people do parties. Only downside is that THERE'S NO BATHROOMS. (oh and parking is VERY limited) read more

Unique and original playground for kids and teens. The park is divided into 3 levels, the bottom level has a small skate park and a dog park. The main level has a large gazebo, zip line, an artificial grass hill for sliding and a few other play structures (see pics) The upper level has tandem swings, another gazebo and 2 spinners. I was lucky enough to have my favorite little munchkins and surprised them with this park. Words can't express how amazing this park is and should be a templet for all parks. This park was good for all ages and every sport. Everything from basketball courts, skate park, mega tiered side or 2 smaller slides, tire swings, everything to climb on, dual swings (which personally I though was genius for those with multiple kids or if a random kid clings to your kid you can push two kids on one swing), grass for baseball/soccer/football practice, lots of spinning contractions, plus an abundance of shade for a break to have lunch. You would think that's enough and you would be wrong the artificial grass hill is the best part and with some simple left over cardboard from Amazon makes the perfect vehicle for sledding down for everyone. We also used the cardboard on the slides and be prepared for a flying kid at the end! Lol! This park even has a zip line. (NOTE: the zip line is currently out of service and it's unknown when it will be up and running). The amount of space, the phenomenal layout mixed with an outstanding land space makes this my top park in San Diego. Bring plenty of water and sunblock for your kidos or the ones you borrowed just to be able to slide down the hill. Everyone will have the best time. I would also bring some cardboard just in case there isn't any. The park is spread apart into three sections so it's definitely has plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. This is in a neighborhood so there is only street parking. I typically wouldn't want to share my hidden SD treasures but, this park should be highlighted and praised. If it's a long ways away from you a few exits north is a Costco for gas and treats to have a picnic or on Wednesdays, Carlsbad has a farmers market! The location of this park is beautiful. There is plenty of easy street parking. I found the park to be immaculately clean and the landscaping is really nice. I took my three year old and my one year old to play, and the park is definitely for older kids. All of the equipment is rope climbing type stuff and there is nothing for younger kids. The most beautiful park we have visited in San Diego county! There are many play structures, padded ground, a skatepark, walking paths, a dog park, basketball court, and lots of open space over 3+ acres. Our favorite activity was the co-swing where an adult or older child can sit with their baby sibling and swing together. There is no parking lot and no restrooms available, but there water fountains for both humans and dogs. Plan to park on a side street, but walking to the park is a short distance. read more

Very nice park that we found and took kids too while visiting Carlsbad! Kids had a blast and the park was large and spacious. Located on a hill so had 3 tiered spaces with skateboarding on the bottom, cool slides, and a place for smaller kids at the top level along with a big field of grass. Pros: - awesome slides. - They have a grass slope that kids brought cardboard boxes to slide down - nice and clean - has covered picnic tables Cons: - if you're big on masks. Tucked away in a neighborhood, parking is hard. However, there's a lower level and an upper level where you can look for street parking. No restrooms as far as I could tell. The upper level is geared towards younger children. It has covered seating and some more secluded seating areas. You walk down to the lower level which is much bigger and filled with different slides and structures to climb. There's also covered seating. The highlight though was "sledding" down a small artificial grassy hill. The kids had a blast! There was a lot of cardboard there that anyone could use. There is a zip line but I think it was broken. There's also a tennis court. The playground is well maintained but not a lot of swings - they did have a tire swing though. read more

The newest park in Funky Leucadia is open, and everybody knows about it. Amenities like a pump track for bikes, a zip line for the kiddos, basketball and pickle-ball courts, and a gazebo are great additions to the community. There are paths for walking, places to meditate in the botanical garden and plenty of modern playground installations. I love the new merry go round which has a net to keep the kids from flying out. This park would certainly warrant 5 stars, but Encinitas city council NEGLECTED TO INSTALL BATHROOMS, lighting and parking. read more

It is also not a disability friendly park. It seems as though the city was simply thinking if the wealthy residents that live near it rather then the community as a whole. read more
