The Turf Slide is CLOSED until further notice. Darn, we drove a long way.the rest of the park is nice and there is a zip line for kids.

Excellent park, very well taken care of. Very nice area in Encinitas. I went to interpret at a school and that is how I discover this park to have my picnic lunch. It has various levels and is perfect for activities for children as well as nice relaxing time for adults that can enjoy the views, the plants, awesome picnic spots and also a laberyth path. I didn't see any red room and parking outside was limited. Those would be the minus of this otherwise amazing park.

Came here today to enjoy our breakfast. Nice fun park with zip line and slide and a skate park. Big picnic area with shade. Clean and well maintained.

What a fun park for kids of all ages! We stopped at this park on our way to LA from San Diego. I'm so glad we did. There is so much that they packed into this little piece of land. great use of the hill and multiple levels. There's a basketball court, dog park (for big and little dogs) skate park, zip line, socal-esque sledding hill, play ground and walking path. We truly didn't even get to see all of it. There were tons of families enjoying the day. And if you have kids with a wide range of ages- you can bring them all here and they can find something to do. My daughter loved the zip line and the hill. There were tons of cardboard boxes for the littles to use to sled down. It was so fun! No parking lot, so everyone parks on the street along the park.

Thank you to the Yelp reviewers for their post about this park. My kids enjoyed it, mostly for the zip lining as they must have rode it a dozen times and sliding down the big hill with a cardboard box. The park is maintained very well. Everyone picks up after themselves.

We will come back next time for sure

Absolutely unique, fun, unusual top of the heap park!! Safe, interactive family friendly with large open space play areas and a large gazebo with picnic tables.

What a great dog park!!! Little but mighty. They have a large and small dog side. Dog poop bags, picnic bench, water, fountain for dogs and humans, and shade. All of the dogs and people were friendly. Real grass, and a nice tall fence There is a lot of Street noise since it's right next to the highway. But not so much that you can't hold a conversation. Will definitely be back.

We loved visiting this park when we were staying in Carlsbad ! I will say this is a neighborhood park not a big public park. I think I was built for the housing on top of the hill but you can still visit . There are no bathrooms that we saw and parking is very minimal, like room for maybe ten side of the road parking. I will say this was a super cool park . It had a dog park that had two separate areas one for big dogs and one for small dogs. Basketball court and skate park which my little guy loved cause he is new to doing tricks and I loved they had more of a smooth shallow pool and then a deeper one on the other side. I will say when came to the actual play area I would say this is really built for kids over 4-5 years of age.. my 4 1/2 did fine but if you have a 2 year old or younger maybe not the best spot. I will say at the top of the hill this park has one of the coolest swings I've ever seen !! I wish this was at every park, (I'll try and give a pic/ video below) ..

Fun hill, zip line! No bathroom or parking. How do you enjoy the facility if there is no restroom not even a portable?

No place to park and the place was as crowded as could be. The park itself may be great but unfortunately I couldn't find out for myself.

Ask the Community - Olympus Park

Is the zip line working now?

    Yup, it was open today.

    Are there restrooms?

No there aren't. It's unbelievable a park that cost that much has no bathroom.

Is the zip line working again went there a while back and it was broken?

We were there a month ago and it was still broken.

Anybody know what happened to the zip line? I called and emails Encinitas Parks and Rec but never heard back. Is it going to be replaced?

I'm not sure what happened, but it's fixed and fully operational now!

The grounds keeper (I assume that's who he was) came up to my car with a flash light and started screaming at me to "get outta here" you're the only car left! I asked him what the hours were because I had seen 10pm on this site (yelp) and I was just sitting there not bothering anyone. He said it closed at dusk, I asked if there was a sign he could show me or if it showed an actual sign, to which he yelled at me again to "get the f outta here" while flashing his light at me through my window with my 5 year old son in the back I don't think he realized was with me who I am now calming down because it was a scary interaction as a woman to be screamed at and a flashlight in my face by a random man, who did not identify himself and just yelled out at me to get out. I have never experience anything that scary at a friendly and happy park that we were frequent visitors at, but safe to say we won't be back and hopefully I can find other places to report him as thats not a safe environment with someone like that, nor have I ever been ran out of a family park parking lot by a strange unidentified man. I've also attached a photo that shows the park on maps and yelp says open til 10pm, as well as Facebook. Either way, the behavior was completely unacceptable for a random man it seems like the park allows to live and park there in a trailer and harass anyone, especially a woman since he saw I was alone and defenseless and with a young child.

I will say, however, that this place is so big that you can very easily lose track of your kids. There were a few times on our last visit where I was scanning the playground for a minute or two trying to find one of my kids after looking after another one for a bit. But don't worry. There really is only one in and out so you don't have to worry about kids wandering off if you are around that bottleneck point. This is a great attraction that I hope the park never gets rid of. It offers kids a space to run around & just goof off and be kids while also blowing off steam. The only point of improvement I can think of if maybe offer some more (shaded) seating for parents. On hot days that would be greatly appreciated.

He remembered it very well from our past visits. It is a second story playground and it is big enough for adults to shadow your littles if needed. On this day it looked as though an employee was monitoring at the top. I'm not sure if it was because it was near closing time or they are there for the safety of the little ones. There is a short wall that you could sit on to watch your kids from afar, This grand playground is great for the kids to burn some energy that's for sure! The kids have fun running place to place it makes me want to join them. If you haven't visit this playground it is a must. P.S. Grab some Apple Fries beforehand from the stand adjacent to the playground. Great snacking as you watch the play.
