This honestly is the best Thai restaurant that I have ever eaten at. I live in LA and I have been to many Thai restaurants and have visited Thailand 3 times over the years but this restaurant by far serves the best Thai food! I visit Ojai every couple of years or so and make it a point to stop and eat here and it never disappoints I had the Pad Kee Mao lunch special yesterday and the quality, quantity and flavor was excellent. This evening I had the Khao Soi and hands down it is the best that I have ever had. The lady who greets you and offers you a seat is extremely nice and courteous and always has a smile when she speaks with you. The rest of the staff is very nice too. read more

My go-to favorite for a first time visit is usually PadThai and this was delicious! These noodles are thinner than I'm used to but just as good. The chicken was tender white meat. Very nice. They do not serve lunch specials on holidays so I had to order the full meal. More than I could eat and yummy enough to take home for later. My friend ordered Pineapple Curry. Absolutely delicious AND MOST SURPRISING was the FRESH pineapple instead of canned. It was wonderful. He ordered it ONE STAR for spiciness and I do not like spicy...yet I did not notice any spice as far as hotness. Came here recently with my friend for her birthday. I don't come here very often because my husband is gluten-free and it's difficult to get GF stuff in restaurants that aren't focused on that. Anyway, I was really missing this place so I came here with my friend instead. Got my favorite pad see ew and it was amazing just like always. My friend got a curry dish and loved it. I also got mango sticky rice at the end (mostly to take home for lunch the next day) and it was wonderful. Thai ice tea was great. Staff was polite and kind to me even when it took us a long time to order and then we sat around chatting until closing time. Prices are fair and the menu has a lot of variety. I was a regular customer and got pick up several times a month. I have no complaints about the food. It is very good. I liked the Yellow Curry but one time they hardly had any potatoes and when I ordered again they wanted to charge me $3 for a couple of little potatoes. The good news is as a result I went to another Thai restaurant and not only was it loaded with veggies, the size portion was double and the potatoes were so big, I had to cut them in four pieces. Om Thai lost a really good customer who spent $150 or more a month for being chintzy with potatoes. Treat your regular customers better in the future. read more

Amazing food I've always enjoyed. Whether dining Inn or takeout my favorite is their pineapple rice and I usually try different dishes. Every time I go I will be going tomorrow for my birthday so I hope it's just as expected, wonderful. Great atmosphere low-key the staff is always pleasant and welcoming. And answer all your questions before you place an order. You can see them cooking while you're sitting at the bar enjoying their wine list or their wonderful tea. I love their chai tea. We've lived here for a couple of years, but didn't get to visit until now. We were very pleased with our experience. Ambience was pleasant and clean, casual. Servers were friendly, helpful, and engaging. And the food we had was great. I have 3 "test" dishes for a Thai restaurant, and had 2 of them here. Pork larb, (without the heat), and pad woon sen with chicken (I especially like this because the noodles are made from mung-beans not the usual rice or wheat products.) My partner had pad see ew with chicken. All very tasty; generous portions--enough to make at least another full meal from leftovers. Dessert was a special treat for us--a really good mango sticky rice, also very generous. This place is definitely a keeper! read more

Wanted to pick up Thai food for dinner, but our long time Thai restaurant in Camarillo has closed. Checked Yelp and chose OM THAI CUISINE. We ordered Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and pineapple rice. In about 10 minutes the food was ready. The staff was very nice! It is a charming small restaurant in the same shopping center as SMART AND FINAL in Camarillo. We were delighted by each dish they prepared. We were expecting the same flavors we were used to. Instead we were swept away by the intricate and lovely nuanced flavors of each of the dishes we were eating, transporting us to a whole new world of taste and aroma! Ommmmmmm, YEAH! I was greeted by a friendly and fun loving staff...smiles on all of their faces and laughing their way through the evening from the kitchen to the counter. It was a contagious positive energy that flowed throughout the entire restaurant. I started with a classic - Thai Iced Coffee - perfect! Then came the THAI SALAD with peanut dipping sauce. The freshest of ingredients imaginable, probably from local farms up here in Ojai and a thick and tasty peanut sauce that was just right. The salad had the freshness, the crunch and the flavor. Finally the BACON CHOW MEIN. The noodles were a nice al dente and the broccoli, celery, cabbage, carrots and sprouts were fresh, crunchy and delicious. That this place happened to be an eight minute walk from my Airbnb makes this a heavenly find! Right on Route 33 on your way into Ojai from the 101... Make the stop! Rarely do I love EVERYTHING about a restaurant, but this place immediately captured my heart. From the street it appears to be just some small rinky dink road side restaurant but once in the parking lot the street sounds disappear and the enticement from the elephants draws you inside where we were pleasantly greeted by the business owning family. We chose our seat in the corner with a great view of the mountains and full view of the restaurant floor and kitchen. I'm a big fan of the open floor plan here. They make great use of the space. It's a very inviting, comfortable and homey vibe. I love the table linens and decor. Each table has a copy of a raving local review of the restaurant from a well traveled foodie. We arrived at 11:30, right when they opened (a few minutes before even). The menu has a great array of options to choose from: making it a good place to come back to over and over. Once we decided on our desired dishes and had our orders taken they turned out of food so fast! They brought each dish out as it was ready; so, not all together. But one by one they came out within 5 minutes of ordering. And oh mannn, that first bite was soo succulent and delicious. I had the pad see ew, which I now would like to eat for every meal. The noodles were sooooo good with the oyster sauce flavoring and the veggies and tofu were cooked perfectly. I loved this dish and had my left overs cold for dinner which was also so good. My husband had the drunken noodles with pork since they don't serve the orange chicken until dinner time. A good excuse to get him out of his comfort zone, and he's glad it did. He loved the drunken noodles and how flavorful the seasoning was and clean and fresh it all tasted. My mom had the green curry lunch meal with tofu. "Creamiest most delicious curry I've ever had" she remarked. Their coconut milk or however they prepare their curry is very special here and makes for a smooth, delicious, creamy curry. Very soothing for the throat and the stomach. And not spicy at all. This place is a gem! We will definitely be coming back because I'm already craving some more. I have been going to Om Thai ever since they opened. The ownership has changed about six times. Each time it changed the food got progressively better. We went there tonight and there was only one table in use the people already had their food. It took them at least 15 minutes before they even acknowledge that we were there. They finally took our order and then three more groups came in and said different tables. All three groups ordered and were served before we got anything at all even our . The food is worse than it has ever been. No flavor at all. I asked for a spice tray and they said we don't have them anymore. This is one of those restaurants that isn't flashy and looks like a hole in the wall but when you go inside, you realize that it's the real deal. It feels like you are in someone's home that is well cared for and clean and orderly and efficient. It's like going back in time and seeing the lace curtains And the plastic tablecloth and the simple in spare design. It's very peaceful and I felt like I had been welcomed into someone's home. The menu is quite extensive with all the favorites. I almost always get the green curry so I can compare it it's my favorite curry because it has the Thai eggplant in it and it's very creamy. I ordered it with tofu this time and I asked for their red rice instead of the brown or white. I also got a nice little salad with peanut dressing and a fried egg roll with sweet-and-sour sauce. It tasted very fresh and crispy. The lunch special was delicious and I have never tasted a better green curry, I was wondering if they had used my milk froth or to make it so creamy and smooth tasting. I devoured it because I was very hungry after a wonderful hike at the Oso trail head this morning. My daughter and son both chose the flat stirfry noodle dishes which are always delicious. I particularly like the drunken noodles because they have the Thai basil in it and with the pork it was easily two servings. My daughter enjoyed her Pad see Ew with flat noodles and broccoli and tofu . We were the only ones in the restaurant and we were treated like royalty. I wish I had had room for dessert because they looked very tempting. The prices were very reasonable. The service was excellent and the ambience was serene. Smaller portions, higher prices and the food quality has gone way down. They only make desserts when they feel like it, so prepare to be disappointed if you were planning on ordering your favorite. Same goes for the ribs and the wings. Likewise, plan to be disappointed if you try to use DoorDash. They advertise on DoorDash, but only do it hit or miss when they feel like it.... most of the time it says they are closed. I just had lunch there with a friend and the food was terrible. We both ordered the chicken Pad Thai, which I normally love. It tasted like fish, I couldn't eat it. It was the worst I ever had. My friend barely touched hers too. They didn't offer us an alternative or apologize. They charged me an extra 3% for using my credit card. Everytime I'm in this area, and I talk to my cliants about where to go for some good food, they always bring this place up. I was at first leary about this place, because when it comes to a small town area, what people say is good is a bit skewed, d/t the lack of diversity and options in a small town. But because I've been in this area so many times, I decided to give them a try, since I'm a big fan of thai food. It's annoying though that they're closed for an hour between lunch and dinner, because that was when I was trying to order my food. So after waiting the hour I tried ordering the food off their website for pickup. And it just was not working for me. So after several attempts I just called them to place my order. It was actually really hard to find a complete menu on line, it would probably be advantagious of them to put on their website a complete menu. I ended up ordering their pork ribs, pad thai, spicy fried rice (medium heat), a dozen crab wantons and a coconut desert. Total bill came out to about $65 which I think is a bit on the expensiver end considering that its in Ojai, and not like in Camarillo, Ventura or Oxnard. They only offer take out at this time still. 1. pork ribs- it had a good thick glaze on it. Nice large pieces. cooked well, slightly dry, but it was pretty good. They give you quite a bit of them as well. 2. pad thai- this was really good. Great flavors. Great balance of sweet and sour. Lots of beef in the dish. So much beef that every biteful had some beef in it. Nice and tender. 3. spciy fried rice- I thought that being that it was medium heat, it would be a lot spicier but it wasent. It was pretty bland actually. I could've gone without it. 4. crab wontons- when I saw that you get a dozen of them for a price that would've been like for 5 wantons at any other thai place, that should've told me all I needed to know. The wantons shells were huge, but the amount of filling in it was like 5-10% of the entire thing. And the crab had no flavor at all. It was a total dude. 5. coconut desert- this thing was AMAZING!!!! if everything tasted like this desert, this review would have been a 5 star review!!! It was light, it was refreshing. A large piece of coconut that was firm but juicy and delicious. Other items in there (string coconut?) were amazing. The actual cocnut milk was sweet and refreshing. It was just absolutely amazing. Great way to end my meal. I will definitely come back here for that coconut desert!!! Pad thai was a solid dish. Everything else was forgetable. The price was steep. read more

My favorites are the Papaya Salad with avocado (I ask for less green beans) and the Pad Thai with glass noodles and chicken. It's the best. Hold on.. If you thought every Thai restaurant has pretty standard same set of items in the menu, you will be pleasantly surprised at this joint. The menu is overwhelmingly huge and so many options to choose from including Avacado Fried rice, Mango Panang Curry to name some. Enough parking space, very close to Ojai, plenty of seating inside. The interiors are decorated well. We were party of 6 and were quickly seated. We ordered Orange chicken, Mango Panang chicken curry, Chicken Pad See Ew, Veg Panang curry with tofu, Veg fried rice with Tofu. Everything was delicious. The kids as well as seniors in our party absolutely loved the food. It was filed with eight flavors and couldn't stop tasting the food. The price was slightly on the higher side. They close the the place from 3 to 4 and they have lunch family style in a big table. So nice to see that they spend that time dedicated to enjoy their food rather than trying to rush it at the back.
