A bit of a mixed experience. Service was slow and the server seemed apathetic. It looked like we beat the dinner rush but it still took a while to get our orders. One dish came much earlier than another, with drinks somewhere in between. The delay on the drinks might have had something to do with the boba in our Thai teas, which was still warm but also very hard, probably undercooked. It was pretty much inedible which was disappointing. The tea itself was just fine. My dad said his Pad Thai was a bit mushy, but my food was pretty good. I ordered drunken noodles with chicken at spice level 4. They were among the top 5 for Thai restaurants I've had, though they do face stiff competition from my top 3, two of which are also less expensive. The spice level was also a lot less intense than what I expected from reading reviews. If you know that you can typically handle spice I'd recommend level 4 or even 5, which I'll have to try at some point. However, it's not particularly likely I'll choose this one again soon over some other less expensive, friendlier, and more consistent options in the county. read more

Awful. I wanted my boyfriend to try Thai for the first time. My usuals were closed and one was no longer in business so we settled here. We ordered yellow curry and it was very bland. I was bummed he didn't enjoy it but looked forward to him trying the chicken pad Thai. Immediately upon grabbing a fork full, it smelled very off, like dog food. I said something out loud to him and he immediately agreed with me, it smelled exactly like the dog food he'd fed his dogs for years! We literally left the whole bowl untouched. I used to be a big advocate for Jasmine Thai--it was hands-down one of our favorite Thai spots in Ventura. But after today's experience, I totally understand why so many people have stopped going. We decided to give them another try after frequenting a more convenient Thai place on Johnson Drive. We placed a to-go order for Tom Yum soup and pineapple curry. When we got home, we realized they gave us the wrong soup--it was Tom Kha, not Tom Yum. Tom Kha has coconut milk, which we don't like, and didn't order. The soup also had a super fishy taste (despite having no fish or shrimp), and the first bite literally made me gag. It tasted off--like it had gone bad or was made with old ingredients. The pineapple curry was somehow even worse--watery, bland, and totally flavorless. It's probably the worst version of pineapple curry I've ever had anywhere. Nothing about it seemed fresh or thoughtfully prepared. My husband called to explain we received the wrong soup, but the person on the phone didn't understand what he was saying and offered no solution other than asking us to come back. He only has an hour to eat and get ready for work, so going back wasn't an option. When he asked to speak to someone else, it didn't help. All in all, this was super disappointing. The food quality has taken a major nosedive, the flavors are off, and they didn't handle their mistake with any real care. Sadly, we won't be back. read more

Having to pick through fried rice is messy and even when you take off the tail shells there were fragments in the rice. Very sad but true story... new owners- bad food, same name but didn't fool me! Ordered our usuals- mine was PadKeMow with tofu, medium hot. Appetizer of crab Rangoon came out- hard as a rock but greasy... I asked the waitress if there is a new owner- she said "yes, over a year ago". My husband got his panang curry (light yellow?) and flavorless while I awaited my entree for 10 more minutes. It finally arrived as a bowl of mushy/stuck together noodles with uncooked green bell peppers- so spicy I could hardly get it down... nasty! Placed online order at 6:06, estimated wait time was 28 minutes. Went to pick it up a little after 6:30, and it wasn't ready until 7:03. Not a big deal, they were busy and sometimes online order estimates can be inaccurate (not the restaurant's fault). However, when my girlfriend called to ask about a menu item being gluten free (gluten allergy), the man on the phone said "yes" and then immediately hung up. Lowkey kind of funny, but not very polite. We had to wait 10 minutes to be acknowledged when we walked in, and waited for about 20 more minutes for the order to be finished. The employees were busy, but that's not an excuse to be rude. The food was okay. Not bad, but not worth the price, wait, or subpar service. Pretty disappointing, as I remember this place being delicious. Unfortunately, I would not recommend, and will not be returning because of the poor service. read more

Was my go-to Thai place for years, not anymore. spent the better half of my friday night driving out to get dinner, then back to get my dinner refunded because they made it with chili flakes when I didn't ask for them, I am allergic to Capsaicin and unable to consume red chili. I can understand mistakes happen, but the owners only wanted to give me a 50% refund and required me to drive back to the restaurant in order to get my full refund, even though it was voided without even using my card when I got there. Wasted my time, money, and now I have to deal with chills, a migraine, and cold flashes for the next 24 hours as my body processes something it should not even come into contact with. Making me drive back was really what added insult to injury and garnered this review, blame it on the owners, not the honest mistake of the server. read more
