Lucky Thai Cuisine is within walking distance of the beach. Therefore, parking is hard to come by, as you'll probably have to park a long way down the street. Inside, the restaurant is medium-sized with a small dining space, and only a few groups of patrons were eating. Once we went inside, we stood for about five minutes, waiting for someone to come out or acknowledge us, before ultimately grabbing a couple of menus from a stack and taking a seat at a nearby booth. Finally, a server came to take our food and drink orders. I tried the chicken and broccoli wok with rice berry. It was my first time trying riceberry. I've never been a huge fan of rice in general, but the riceberry had a nutty flavor and soft, chewy texture. This was the favorite part of my meal. The steamed broccoli had a soft, mild flavor that made me feel healthy eating it. Unfortunately, the chicken lacked flavor, and I didn't finish it. Personally, I'd try another meat to add to my wok if I ordered the wok again. Lastly, once the server appeared, she came back to check on us frequently, refilled water orders, brought out food, and dropped off the check. Our MUST eat when we go to Ventura. We all order the Pad Seew and Thai Tea...both our faves. It is the perfect amount to eat and feel full after a walk on the beach. We usually eat it on the table outside since we have our dog and we can see the sunset. Dairy Allergy friendly as they can make the Thai Tea with canned coconut, if you ask. Pad Seew is already dairy free as it is cooked with oil. Had a mild reaction to the Satay Chicken skewers, so we avoid those. read more

Parking in the rear of the restaurant. We ordered seafood soup and it had a lot of mushrooms, red onions, 1 shrimp, 2 pieces of white fish, 3 calamari, 2 mussels, and one crab leg. I ordered a side of white rice which was like one large scoop for $5. We ordered shrimp, fried rice, and pad woonsen. My family loved the food but I thought it wasn't over the top crazy delish. Finally got the opportunity to dine here this past weekend. I have ordered lunch here to be delivered a few times in the past. The Thai food here is really good! I typically get the Angel Shrimp which is an appetizer. You get 5 shrimps wrapped in won ton and deep-fried. You also get a quarter-sized salad on the side. It's my go to order and never steers me wrong. They also have the best mango sticky Rice. On this evening the mango sticky Rice wasn't available, so we got coconut sticky rice. We shared the Angel Shrimp and wings which were made to order then split the coconut Rice. The portion size was big. The wings were tender and flavorful as well. Walked in and was seated right away. Stopped by this cute Thai restaurant after a bike ride and the pleasantly surprised on the quality of the food and customer service. The food was amazing and we were able to grab the lunch special during the week and got a great price with perfect proportions. The person at the front kept asking my name repeatedly, which created confusion, and I only got my order when someone from the back finally stepped in. I was too tired to fully process what was happening, but looking back I feel I should have just left and asked for a refund. We always eat at Lucky Thai cuisine whenever we stay in Ventura! The presentation of the food fills my heart with joy every single time we come. Their servers always have a smile on their face and readily accommodate any request. The decor is eclectic, but I enjoyed looking at the pictures on the wall as well as the fresh flowers on the table. The meals are served with fresh orchids, which I actually eat. they have a spin wheel where you get to get a special treat or a free item and it's very kitchy and very cute. Book marked this place because it had good reviews in preparation for our little Ventura weekend family trip and tonight we tried it. It's a small mom and pop hole in the wall steps away from the beach and it was absolutely delicious. We were a party of 9 and everyone devoured the food with nothing left to take home. Needed to give a long overdue updated review for Lucky Thai restaurant. Over six years ago I loved this place then and I love it even more now, and over the years. It's truly one of the great Thai restaurants in Ventura County. The location is prime! Off Seaward and near the beach, it's really a lovely spot to stop for lunch or dinner as you're in walking distance from the beach and within eyeshot of the water if your able to snag a window table. The restaurant itself is very beach and casual vibes, comfortable and inviting. I love dining here. The service is stellar and staff are always lovely here. They truly appreciate your business and make you feel welcome here. The owner is a really nice lady and is friendly to the customers. A special shout-out to Letty who has been our server multiple times. She is truly the best and we are so happy every time we dine here and she helps us out. Nice people work here and that alone keeps me coming back. The food is also a 5/5. Delicious Thai food with a super large and extensive menu. I'm always impressed with all of the options they provide and the menu is well laid out with something for everyone. My favorite dishes here are the Tom Kha soup, chicken fried rice, and curries - specifically the yellow curry but all the ones I have tried are tasty. The flavors are really developed here and everything always tastes super authentic and delicious. The portion sizes are generous and the ingredients are quality. Lucky Thai is an absolute beachside gem! Such a cute, unique spot... great people watching from the windows. The nicest staff; great food with vibrant flavor. I have never had a bad thing here once. I have recently changed my eating habits to healthier choices and they still have many options for me and are very accommodating. My favorites are their curries, soups and assortment of rice dishes (the pineapple! Yum!). I'm so lucky to live so close, I can just walk up to the restaurant but they also deliver! Thai is one of my favorite cuisines and I love to go to different ones. I've been to everyone in Camarillo and a few in TO. It's a tiny cozy spot with only 7-8 tables and booths. With fresh roses on the tables. It's very old school beachy. There's even a wooden screen door. It feels like eating in Hawaii. They have a huge menu with more soups than I've ever heard of. The food was perfect and with very generous servings, with lots to bring home. I had my classic favorites. Pad see ew with bbq ham. And Pineapple rice w shrimp. 6/7 good sized ones. I do love that it's next to the beach so that was nice. Not the best Thai I have had but not the worst. My expectations were pretty low....But I must say that those gigantic spring rolls pulled me back to the other side...requiring me to open my mouth wide for ALL of that goodness. They were BIG, big. HUGE, Yelp. They made me feel defeated and I loved every minute. This place seems to assemble some of their food with ingredients a step below the norm...so instead of you getting the more authentic, higher quality and exactly precise items normally used to make traditional dishes, you get a step below the norm or an acceptable substitute. HOWEVER, the taste is still good and on point for the most part, despite the variations with some of the dishes on the menu. The coconut soup (with whatever protein you get) kinda has this dark, filmy and bubbly look/consistency to it...BUT DO NOT LET IT DISCOURAGE YOU. The taste is right on par with traditional Thai coconut soup. Ginger, galangal, chili oil...it's all there when you taste it. You just won't see it. Eat, but don't look. I'll for sure be back, even if for the spring rolls alone. read more
