The owner was very rude and would not admit fault or fix it. We had to spend several thousands of dollars to get all of the tile demolished and re-done the correct way. Very disappointing. I'm the type of person that values customer service and someone who genuinely cares about the customer especially when they're trying to make an investment on their on home. The representative they sent to give me quote, was unprofessional, unfriendly and rude. He even said things "it's up to you if you want someone to do a shitty job" that's definitely not the kind of "professional I want to work with. Honestly pushy and rude. Wouldn't give us a quote for what we needed and asked for and immediately was trying to hard sell us on a service we had already done by a specialist (and didn't seem that knowledgeable about that service). Bad experience and a waste of our time. Seriously. So. Very. Rude. Updated to add a star because they did come out pretty quickly and I hate giving one star really. Update: They did come to our Condo in Thousand Oaks. This is not some cyber attack (we have since moved out of state). I am sorry we had to give 2 stars, but seriously is was very insulting and a bad experience. Hopefully you can give some feedback to the people you send out to give estimates and they can improve. Resubmitting deleted review: I hate having to write a less than stellar review for Omega. On May 20, I sent a message on Yelp and Omega responded. I received friendly service from employee (insert name here). I said we needed an awning and pavers with permits, we had to remove our existing patio cover which we had installed without permit. We were quoted around $4K. Later I realized that he only meant to put a small awning cover, so I asked for an actual patio cover to prevent water coming through our door when it rains, quoted another $5K since there were bunch of permits involved. The company took care of this, and took about 2 months for the permits to be approved. Omega proceeded to install a nice looking patio cover on September 10. Then the city inspector proceeded to deny saying that the cover needed to be 3 feet apart from the neighbors carport, which if Omega had done measurements before this happened it would not have been an issue. Come October 6, they send 2 men to cut through the original nice looking cover and patch up in the middle. Now, we have a patched up, old looking patio cover with rough corners. It doesn't rain so much in the SF Valley, so I believe there has been 1 day when it rained, I will say the patio did its job and no rain came through our door. I had insisted on a replacement edge because I have already paid $9K on something that does not look as originally planned. The owner came to talk to me, and I understand everyone's frustration here. However, he said multiple times that this was not "Beverly Hills", and yes, is not Beverly Hills, but 9 thousand dollars is 9 thousand dollars anywhere. I feel so torn because I was not necessarily treated rudely by anyone, but I did not get what I paid for. PS: I consider this job complete, do no send anyone else to my home or try to charge me more. read more

For several years, we have been planning to complete our vision of the backyard patio cover project for our family home, planning being the key word since we continued to put it off for far too long. We finally decided to go though with it and and began our search for the right company. After receiving what I consider an unreasonable estimate from a company that I won't mention within this positive review, our neighbor from a few houses down recommended Omega Design. To keep this review from spilling over into a detailed rant/rave about every single thing we were happy with, I'll take this time instead to commend Omega Design, publicly, for their great work ethic, realistic and fair prices, very pleasant and knowledgeable staff, and for the attention they showed to each and every detail of our long awaited project. How glad we are indeed to have had them recommended to us, and if my review is a deciding factor for you, then I'll just say that I recommend them through and through. As they say, I swear by them. With regard to the project that was completed by Omega Design, our backyard has gained the much overdue functionality and comfort that has only been a figment of my imagination and that of my family members over the course of several years. With the project completed, we are so very happy that we finally came around to it. It looks amazing! Oh, I almost forgot! Their fair prices included a contractor who was licensed, bonded, and insured, which as we found out while conducting our own google "research" is often not the case. Last year we decided to collect some estimates to recover our backyard and to make it look better, so the kids will be able to play there. We got a few estimates that ran between $7000 to $25,000. At the end, we found one in the middle and the BEST price will be the company that we chose. It was in our budget. We chose to go with Omega Design Inc. we are very happy that we did so, they did a beautiful job in our backyard, flowers, rocks, trees, new grass and some water feature. We live in Malibu and we have very strong winds and aggressive weather from the oceanside. This weather causes a lot of damage to the wood sliding doors. We brought few contractors to give us an estimate to repair those doors. All contractors represented themselves nicely but Omega Design simply blew every one else away in terms of their job knowledge and professionalism. When they finished the job we could not believe who great our doors looked - it was like we had brand new sliding doors at a fraction of the price. My experience with Omega Design was absolutely wonderful! Since the first time I called their main office to the last quality assurance call I received once the project was done. Our bathroom needed to be re-done, I had few estimates lined up and all I had to do was choose the best company to take over the project. Great work on my patio cover! I've been looking around for a company to fix my old rusty patio cover. I got 3 estimates from 3 different companies - 2 out of the 3 companies insisted on replacing it, but Omega Design guaranteed to fix it for a much better price. I chose Omega Design because believed myself, that my patio can be fixed, therefor I trusted the project manager who gave me the estimate. He didn't push me to replace it. Got some bids for carport garage with two cars space from different companies, the project manager Shay from Omega Design Inc came over to our house and talked about our idea and advised us about our needs. We told him that we also needed to replace our roof on top of my garage as well and if they could please give us a bid on that as well. He gave us a very fair bid that was lower than the other companies and also told us about their finance program options. We really like that because most of the other contractors never mentioned these programs to us. We were able to get the garage roof and carport completed and than we decided to also do a few more things Shay told us about all the rebates you get by adding solar. So we added solar , tankless water heater and also repaired our fireplace , which looks fabulous now ! Now, that we are all done with construction . We are so glad to have had the opportunity to meet with Omega Design Inc., and due to their ideas we are able to save money in the future and enjoy our new home. Omega Designs completed two job within our home. The completed work was done exceptionally wel, and well under the time frame tehy contracted for. Manny, the project manager, was on top of everything and very professional...up to the time I was asked to complete the final completion order (so he could be paid). Unfortunately, I should not have done so as the promised work to "fix" the issues in the front of our home which came about as the crew cleaned up the items from the work within the house. Rather than complete this cleanup work, Manny is now ducking my calls and not returning any of the 3 calls I have placed with him. Certainly not a professional way to end our relationship leaving the clean up not completed (even though last Friday he promised that this work would be done at noon. It never happened and now he chooses to stay uninvolved and ducking my calls. Has left a bad taste in my mouth and really wonder if I would recommend this company to my friends and associates read more

I read Yelp reviews and reviews at other sites and those reviews influence my decisions, but I do not participate in providing reviews and posting on social networking sites. My experience with Omega Design, Inc didn't match the other reviewers and I felt I had to tell about my experience. I was initially told by Omega it would cost $4000 to repair my roof leak. I couldn't get specifics on what that would entail. I then signed a $1600 very specific contract that was comparable in scope to other quotes but a little higher. After discussions with others, I tried to cancel the contract after 5 days. Shay let me know over and over he was less than happy I called on Saturday (no hours were listed on Omega's website and his colleague said they worked even on holidays) and said the 3 day right to cancel expired. Six days later, the roofers came. I declined a suggested $2900 scope increase by Omega. Later the roofers had removed tiles and 2x1 boards 12 rows up, about 12 columns across. There was also a hole in the roof over the outside of the house which I watched the roofers make bigger. Shay wanted $1800 to replace underlayment to the top of roof (where he said was the source of the leak) and cover the hole with plywood, plus about $400 in tiles. If I didn't want to do the job, I would pay to restore the roof. I just wanted the hole repaired, but that would still be the same price. It was midday Friday, rain was predicted on Monday, my roof was exposed, and I felt I had no choice but to do the job. While the change order was being written up, I told Shay that he broke the contract by removing the roof without my authorization, especially to the extent that they did. I excused myself to call others for advice and to do some internet searches. A few minutes later Shay said he would put plywood on the hole and restore the roof, no charge. The roofers came and said they replaced underlayment where they exposed the roof and said it won't leak. So I'm satisfied with the roof fix as of now solely based on the roofer's assurance. But the process to get the roof fixed and dealing with Omega's business tactics were very painful and are the source of my rating. In addition to the roof contract, on the first day Omega came I bought a mold test ($495 if I signed that day, normally $795) for about an 8 in x 8 in area with mold spots because Omega told me the mold was toxic and its a health issue, and yes, I was scared. With the test results, I was initially quoted a $5500 mold remediation and $3000 repair effort, which I did not think was reasonable. When I realized I should contact my insurance, Omega told me again and again, based on their experiences, the insurance company won't pay. Later they lowered the price to $4900 to include painting the entire room. The quote from the restoration company the insurance used was about 30% of Omega's original $8500 quote and included more damage due to additional leaks and will only cost me the deductible. There wasn't enough mold to necessitate a mold test so I didn't get reimbursed for that. I was looking to Omega to provide quality work at a reasonable price for my roof leak and various other work I need just like many of the other reviewers posted, but unfortunately for me it didn't work out. read more

We found Omega Disign Inc. three months ago in yelp. We Living in Calabasas California and we decide to have our dream project with an addition to our house and remodel 70% of the existing. We add 1300 sqft and the project done in three months. We add two more bathrooms, enlarging the kitchen and we add another two big rooms that one of them was planned to be a game room but during the project we decide to convert it to a small theater. We change the windows for the entire house and new hardwood floors as well. We would like to recommend Omega Design Inc. for anybody who really want to feel the confidence during project and to get the quality that was beyond all expectation. They will be your right choice. Omega came to our house 30 minutes late (Southern California traffic, no big deal). When they got here, they were immediately very pushy and claiming that our house had "cracks," which were just cobwebs. They then demanded to come inside and discuss prices. I was uncomfortable having them inside and asked for the quote to be emailed. The older contractor continued to demand to come in, saying that there were options and therefore the quote could not be emailed. The younger contractor then complained that they had driven all the way from Burbank, and that we hadn't given them a chance. We told them that, because they were later than expected, we needed to leave. The younger contractor told us they had a window of 4-5 to arrive (which was never discussed), and that we had to give them a chance. This interaction has ensured that we will not be hiring them. Even with quality prices, they did not listen to us, and that is not a quality we want in our contractors. read more

After we done with our backyard, we decide to get somebody and to create some kind of a design for our old bathroom in the first floor. The bottom was old and there was some evidence of mold. The tile was pink and old, some of it was broken. Omega design came over with a beautiful ideas and a nice design. We got a few different designs before but this one was the most nicest one. After they did the work and create exactly what they promised us based on the design. So we start with the work and the progress was really easy and comfortable to all of our family.
