Love this place. Been going there since I was little when they opened. Alex and the Co-Workers are all fun and games, joking around with you to kill some time while waiting. But the guy with the hair dye problem. Seems like a personal issue that you think just because you know them and live next door you'll get a pass. That's not how business work. So your review isn't even a review it's just a bitter comment because you didn't get stuff your way. read more

I love Omega pharmacy. They deliver to many people, especially elderly people, in the neighborhood. In regards to the review about not letting this guy take the box of hair dye and leaving behind an IOU for the $2 is ridiculous. You cannot go into CVS to buy hair dye and only pay a portion. Many people want to try and take advantage of small mom and pop businesses and this is why big corporations are making millions off of us. Anyway, Alex is very kind and follows the rules. I have a very complicated insurance and Alex will sit on the phone with representatives to figure out my prescription coverage and find out ways to help me. Avoid this pharmacy at all costs - go ANYWHERE else but here! I live right next door to this place and after years of patronage, I was mortified at how I was treated on Oct. 19, 2018, a day I'll NEVER forget: My daughters whom I haven't seen in 34 years were arriving from California in 2 hours so I wanted to appear as handsome as I could by adding some color to my hair at 10 a.m. I went next door to this pharmacy and selected a hair color from their extremely limited variety, and when I tried to pay for the $4 (FOUR DOLLAR) box, their internet was "down" so they couldn't process my credit card payment. I understand this can happen sometimes but Alex, the pharmacist (who knows me for years) REFUSED to allow me to take the box and pay later. So I searched my pockets and found $2 in between my gold badge and city ID (I'm a NYC employee with a badge) which meant that I was only $2 (TWO DOLLARS) short but Alex STILL refused to allow me to have the $4 box of hair dye! He cited he could not trust me or anyone to come back and pay the $2 balance even though I've lived in the same apartment, right next door, for 25 YEARS! Never having any kind of problem with this place or this Russian immigrant Alex, I was literally in absolute shock that after all the prescriptions and over-the-counter items I've purchased there over the years, he wouldn't trust me to return with two dollars! He kept saying, "It isn't my store" as if that was supposed to make it alright for him to treat me so horrendously after so many years of faithful patronage. True, I never spent a LOT of money there because my city job provides my prescriptions via mail order, but there were many times I've had my scripts filled there as well as occassional common item purchases. There was absolutely no history of anything negative between us to cause this "person" to treat me so badly. I can't remember when I was more insulted in my life. By the expression on their faces, even the employees seemed shocked by this. For only $2, this place wins the ultimate WORST PHARMACY EVER award and I hope and pray this review is read by many local folks who are now forewarned to avoid this place if at all possible. I walked across the street, jumped on a bus to St. Nicholas, and within minutes found myself at a beauty supply house that stocked every hair color imaginable and my daughters arrived seeing their dad for the first time, and looking good. Since I've lived here for decades, I know very many local people so you can be sure the readers of this review will not be the only folks hearing about this - I am on a campaign to advise every local person I encounter to avoid Omega Pharmacy. I swear to God I can hardly believe this actually happened to me over two single dollar bills! This pharmacy is great. The staff is courteous and friendly. They know the proper and accurate information about store policy, prescriptions, health plans, Medicaid, Medicare and store products. They always have metro cards available, copy machine for 5 cents each, fax for $1 the OTC card program and even a notary in the place. I moved in the neighborhood almost 4 years ago and NEVER go anywhere else. Love these guys and ladies. Keep up the good customer service read more

My second time filling a prescription for my sons 2 medications (first time was fine) and this time my son disliked the liquid med so much he spit it out. Then I noticed that the pills were the wrong pills!! I returned the meds the next day with no intention of writing any negative review. The reason I write this review is because when I returned the meds and told the pharmacist (tall guy with long hair, I think Alex) that I could not trust to continue to give my son the liquid and that I wanted to return the meds he then told me to have a new pharmacy call him and he would transfer the prescription (new 6month rx). I called another pharmacy immediately and asked them to call Omega which they did the same day. Come to find out Omega refused to transfer my son's rx! First a female told him (the new pharmacist) there was no rx for my son and then the guy told him there was and later said there wasn't. Bottom line they, out of spite, refused to transfer my son's rx and therefore, my son went days without his medication. I confront Alex (the guy with long hair) and he tells me that he did transfer my sons med but only the liquid and that the bottle of pills (that were the wrong ones) were given to us as a "courtesy" ?!?!? Who does that?!?!? And the wrong pills?!?!?! I've been given wrong pills before from other pharmacies but I understand we're human and mistakes happen. I've never written a negative review on a pharmacy because of a mistake or even when I had another pharmacy short change me my meds. But this guy Alex is not to be trusted at all! I write this review because he refused to transfer my sons rx even after saying he would. These people are dishonest and incompetent and are not to be trusted. read more
