Front office staff and billing staff are very challenging to work with. We experienced rude and unprofessional service.

Just wanted a consultation visit. Got shut down quickly by the receptionist. Too busy, it appears. Will go elsewhere.

Working in medicine for over 20 years I am appalled by the unprofessional Dr Madson. When in consult he was arrogant and while talking about cut into my face was rushed and left the room saying I have more patients to see I'll call you. It's been over a month I've not heard from the office or Dr Madson. Meanwhile I remain in pain and have moved onto a surgeon referred from some of my peer surgeons. Dr. Johnson extracted my broken two front teeth and replaced them with the most beautiful implants. He made sure I was comfortable and always had my best interest in mind, knowing my end result would be very important to me. As well as him...he wanted them even, strong and well healed. They gave a price without checking with the insurance and then sent me a bill for $1200 more.

This place is a rip off. They don't do their due diligence to verify insurance information ahead of time and later they slap you with an unexpected high dollar bill. I spoke to Shannon and she was just rude before saying anything to her she just accused me of not knowing what my benefits are. My son had his wisdoms teeth removed in April 2016 and I specifically asked, since my benefits starts over in June 2016, does it makes financial sense for me to do 2 teeth vs 4? I was told doing the 4 teeth will be about $200.00 more a total of $524. and I gave the go ahead to do. OMS never did a pre-treatment estimate with my insurance company according to my insurance company, they did an in house authorization and because I signed the FAA (Financial Agreement Arrangement) I am responsible for the balance due. This is unfair and unacceptable and unethical. They had 25 days before the surgery to received back the pre-treatment estimate from my insurance company (which take 15 days to get back from the insurance company according to the insurance company) and they never send it. The claim did not get processed until the end of June 2016 and the procedure was the end of April 2016. And now, they are billing my an additional $450.00 a total of $975.00. My son has perfect teeth and the benefits that started over in June 2016 will go unsued. When, I asked (Jenny) to conference a call with the insurance company the response I got is "I don't know how to do that" and I asked "are you denying me my request for all of us to talk to the insurance company and of course, the response was no but, if you want to call them and call us back that would be great. I was given a referral to OMS at New Brighton by my regular dentist. I'm 76 years old and have had over the years a fair number of tooth extractions. I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly things went. The staff were very nice and thorough in checking my medical background and in informing me of what was to be expected in the upcoming procedure. They go out of their way to put the patient at ease. My 31 tooth was broken and had a root anomaly, so they went over the range of expense should the procedure prove to be more complex by the difficulties posed by the condition of the tooth. I was shown a very clear set of X-ray pictures of this tooth. Dr. Buck came in to start the procedure. He and his assistant had a very good "bedside manner". He explained everything that he was doing and what to expect. The extraction went far better than any previous tooth pull that I had ever undergone: no pain, no difficulties; and in about a minute the procedure was complete, and the charges to my VA voucher were minimal. The assistant then went over the post-operative care not only verbally, but in highlighted literature specially applicable to my particular case. In summary, the whole affair was pleasantly personable and highly professional. Post operative: I had only the mildest pain for a couple of hours after the tooth removal, and took nothing for it. This suggests that no damage was done to the adjacent bone and gum area by the extraction. read more

Just had two teeth removed by Dietrich Lawrenz and as much as a person would hate to have this procedure done, this doctor was amazing! Novocain shots I've had in the past from other doctors seem to me to be carelessly placed and not as effective as they could have been. He obviously placed them perfectly and with the removal of the teeth I was amazed how quickly he was able to do it without pain. He removed a rear tooth that was the size of a Volkswagen and I didn't even realize he removed it. It sucks getting teeth pulled but if I ever need it done again Dr Lawrenz is the man. Really, I'm almost still in shock how easy that was. It was 80's day with the music that was playing and Do You Really Want To Hurt Me came on just as he was beginning. Kind of got a laugh out of that. Good work people! read more

I have never been treated so horribly by staff anywhere. The doctor was excellent, his nurse/assistant also wonderful. The front desk staff were so absolutely rude and horrible. Botched the billing despite our attempts to get the billing all in the same insurance year then literally laughed in our faces as they demanded payment for the consultation. Literally looked at us and said "You're not eligible" We had to ask what she was talking about and she just said it again - laughing mind you. I had to ask eligible for what? "For the consultation to be covered" Then, we were supposed to get information from the her after the consultation but she was too busy on the phone, when we asked for the info she said "We are closed now" Are you kidding me?!!!! We stood there waiting for her to get off the phone, then she wouldn't help us anymore because they had officially closed while she was on the phone. Absolutely unbelievable. From the second we walked in that door both my son and I felt as if we were intruding. We were treated like we were a chore and they didn't want to do their jobs!!! Why would anyone ever trust their child to be in that kind of care, I don't think so!!! Now I'm out money for getting treated horribly. What a shame because the doctor seemed fantastic! read more

Best place to go when you have to get oral surgery! Dr. Lawrenz is awesome and the office team make everything go so smoothly!
