Dr. Kumar is a Super Great Dentist ! I have been going for many years to him to help me with removing broken teeth when it happens, and getting some great looking implants. Also, he has done some oral surgery for me as I had an infection and I did not feel any pain, and it healed so fast the way he did it with his procedure. His assistant removed some sutures the other day and I did not feel a thing, she seems to be an expert ! I will be getting an implant soon where my broken tooth was removed. I would strongly recommend seeing Dr. Kumar to remove broken teeth at the gum line as he has great techniques to help you. Implants are available for you also, he does great work ! I can't believe I'm writing this but I'm literally in tears from the experience I just had with Almond Dental. I switched to them over a year ago from the dental clinic my family had been going to for 30 years, and had been recommending that my family do the same because I loved the convenience, competence and friendliness at Almond. In May, almost two months ago, I went in for a quick exam to evaluate a sharp pain in one spot on one tooth. I saw Dr. Lam and she tapped around that tooth but couldn't find the spot that was causing my pain. The pain had only been there for around two weeks, which she said wasn't long enough to investigate further. She suggested it was from clenching my teeth at night and recommended a night guard. I have had brief episodes of clenching in the past and it results in a totally different dull jaw ache so I said I really did not think that was the issue. I also already have a night guard. I then proceeded to leave town for almost two months and decided to just avoid hitting that tooth until I could come back and have it checked out again. I had told them I might go to another clinic while I was out of town but ultimately decided to wait because I overall trusted Almond and wanted continuity. Last week, I scheduled an appointment for this afternoon. This morning, I got a call informing me that my appointment was being canceled because Dr. Lam didn't want to see me and none of the other dentists wanted to take over. All because I disagreed with her initial conclusion after a 10 minute exam, based on knowing what normal and abnormal pain is like in the teeth I've had for 25+ years. Yes. Yes. Yes. 100x yes. I'm not going to lie, it's been a hot minute (or couple years to say the least) since I've been to a dentist. After realizing I have another year or so of pretty good dental insurance under my parents, I realized it was time to go in for a cleaning and get any work done that I might need. My last dental experience was anything but luxurious. I had about 5 different teeth pulled and a number of cavities filled before getting braces (yes, it was THAT long ago), so I was kind of nervous and didn't know what to expect. I'd read the reviews on almond dental online and saw that those even with the worst fears felt comfortable and everyone was extremely trusting in the staff. After a dental emergency, I actually encouraged my fiancé to go and check it out. He ended up getting a root canal in about 20 minutes and had no pain. He literally called his dentist a wizard. I knew that this was where I had to make my appointment. The day of, I came in and chatted with the super-nice receptionist/hygienist who got all of my information and I was quickly scooped up by the hygienist that was doing my cleaning. I take medication for anxiety, and that was one of the items I had to fill out on the paperwork before I was seen. The first thing said to me by the hygienist was "I see you're on medication, are they helping you out today? How are you feeling". I can't say anyone has ever asked me something like that.... words cannot even BEGIN to express how much that meant to me. I said I was alright and he began to take some x rays. Now, I have a pretty sensitive gag reflex so I was NOT thrilled, but guess what? I didn't gag at all during any of it. After x rays, my cleaning took about 15-20 minutes and the gentleman did a phenomenal job. He talked me through the entire procedure and kept me entertained. I honestly don't think I've ever been so calm at an appointment. Ever. After the cleaning, the dentist came in and took a peek at my teeth and chatted with me a bit about my fiancé and i's wedding coming up (she actually remembered him!). Honestly, I had such a great experience and I am so glad I went with Almond Dental. The reviews are true and I HIGHLY encourage anyone with any medical anxiety to pick Almond in MG for their dental work. Even though my next scheduled appointment requires some fillings, I actually can't wait to go back and chat with the team and have absolutely no worries or doubts. That's how it should be! read more

This place should be called a butcher, not a dentist office. I went to get a tooth pulled, clearly she didn't know what she was doing because it took 30+ minutes to get my tooth out. Right after and for more then a week I was having extreme pain. I went back to the office 2 more times to see what was wrong. They claim nothing is wrong but a possible dry socket. This man who claims is a "dry socket expert" then comes in the office yelling at me and going on some bizarre tirade about he can't give me pain medicine because of the "opiate crisis that ruined America." Are you okay? What does that have to do with me and my mouth you just destroyed. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. The only good thing about this office is the receptionists. They are nothing but kind and compassionate every time I step foot in the office, which was a lot. I've truly lost count as to how many times I stepped foot in their office, I believe it was around six times in a month and a half. Dr. Mario was very kind, but whatever he did has caused me pain since his work. Hurts to chew just about anything on either side. I felt confident moving forward with Dr. A since a family member knew of her and her reputation. Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience with her. I've never been treated so poorly by a medical professional. That is until Dr. Kumar took two weeks to review my files and then didn't even have the decency to call me back and made one of the receptionists call me. (Shoutout to Hannah for her professionalism and kindness on the phone.) I will never recommend this place to anyone. Dr. Kumar replied to my google review, after not taking the time to call me back and go over things with me. His response was that they can't please everyone and I'm one of them. That they tried everything (which is false). That if I'm so mad to go somewhere else (when their office has caused me five months of pain, they should be responsible when they did a root canal on a tooth when I said "that's not the one causing pain") and lastly, he said to me that "good people know that only good dentistry comes out of this office". GOOD PEOPLE? How dare you question my character. How you run a business is beyond me. So I will say it again, don't go here because IF they make a mistake, cause you any pain, do a root canal on the wrong tooth, etc. they will not own up to their mistakes. Had a broken tooth that needed to be pulled. Been putting it off for years until I couldn't take the pain anymore as I'm afraid of dentists due to a bad prior experience. Dr. Kumar and the staff were wonderful. Vicki checked with my insurance and gave me a breakdown of my treatment options and costs and was so sweet and supportive. I had a tooth extraction and implant done. I had no pain. My anesthetist did an amazing job. He completely numbed the area with a gel first so that I didn't really even feel the needle when he did the shots. I just want to come here and say that this is the best dental clinic me and my family went to so far, very professional and time efficient. My mom just did an extraction and an implant and it literally took Dr. Kumar 10 mins to do it, Amaria is very sweet and patient, she comforted my mom and made sure that she was feeling okay during the process. Do not believe what some of the people here say certain people will lie just to get you to keep coming back and then when you call them out they try to charge you 4 times more on denture inserts. after getting upset do to being lied to they tried to charge me $225.00 for 10 denture retention caps and then only refunded me $205.00 saying thats all I paid although I had the receipt. I would not recommend anyone going to this place due to the fact of getting screwed. At first they try to suck you in by being nice then they turn on you. Yesterday, I went in for a consultation to have an implant done with doctor,,Kumar. (I had one done before and it was a nightmare with major swelling and post going into sinus cavity's another dentist). Doctor, Kuma was very pleasant and very confident. I decided that day to have him start the process of putting the titanium post into my bone. It was such a quick process and he was so professional I barely knew it happened. I had no swelling and I could even eat food on the left side of my mouth opposite the procedure that night. Compared to the other implant I had a few years ago this was amazing. I highly recommend Almond Dental. They also did a cavity that day and they did it perfect. That never happens with my teeth. Love these guys! read more

Yesterday my temporary crown came loose. I was 100 miles out of town and contacted both offices to find out how I could get in to see Dr. Kumar. He was in Maple Grove and my permanent crown just came into St. Anthony. Karly, the office receptionist drove to St. Anthony to get the crown - now that is "Top Shelf Customer Service"!! This is the worst place ever. I will never go back to this condensing dentist. They also lie about the timing. They go oh it only take about three months for implants to heal. I had to wait 7 months for my implants which is nothing but a bunch of cheap plastic. They charged me 25,000 for the bottom. They said this would be for lower and upper teeth. When I called to see about the upper teeth she told me it would be another $25,000 Plus the implants failed. All he would do is look in my mouth and say your good. I knew I was not healing right. Then go onto the next patient Or I would have to wait a half hour and hear him working on patients before me! The day he put in the cheap implants me. He said okay are you happy and walked away. He never explained anything about them. They are a money hungry dentist. They DO not care about the patience at all. They are liars. Try to jack prices up and told me to get this care credit card with high amounts of interest which I canceled. If I want to pay 50,000 for cheap plastic I would rather buy a house or fancy car! He is the worst dentist i ever had. I really regret going here. Please read all the bad reviews before you choose to go here you will be glad you did! when he first attempted to put the caps on one of them was really hurting. I screamed and he kept yanking on it. I asked him to give me nonvaccine he did not do that and he told my my bone was not healed enough. This was at the end of may he told me to come back at end of July for the fitting. Finally I got the cheap plastic in August and they still hurt. He should have put some type of protection on the bottom screws. Now my upper teeth are so bad I can't eat very well. The screws put holes and cracks in my upper teeth and they bleed. Also, in July when I went in for the fitting he yanked and pushed my head so I could bite down. I had a hard time due to the upper teeth. He is very abusive. This place is nightmare! you feel like you are in an assembly line. They are nice in the beginning but once they get your money and procedure begins you are just a dollar sign and treated like shit. I am in constant pain. I found another dentist you will make sure this gets done right.....YOU will be sorry you treated me and others this way! ALSO, THIS RECEPTIONIST WOULD CONSTANTLY CALL ME TO REMIND ME WHEN MY APPOINTMENT IS. I FINALLY HAD TO REPORT HER TO THE MANAGER AND THEN THEY STOPPED CALLING. The staff is very pleasant; however, they practice the "Bait and Switch" con. You call about an appointment to use a coupon for cleaning, Xrays, and exam, and when you go in they spend most of the time telling you all the things you should have done, which total many thousand! I got a 10-minute partial cleaning, but was told that I needed to come in for a deep clean, several hundred dollars more. And, at checkout, I wae charged a couple of hundred dollars, instead of the coupon price...which I had shown them on arrival. I will never go back. read more

I saw Dr. Prem Kumar today. I lost a filling and had to get a pretty significant cavity refilled. I had to get fillings a lot as a kid and it was always excruciatingly painful. I thought the numbing shots just weren't effective. Dr. Kumar ended up having to give me 3 rounds of local anesthesia, the third being the strongest they had. After the first round, the moment he saw me flinch, he made everything come to a complete halt until the anesthesia was 100% effective. He said "I pride myself on pain-free dentistry so I will sit here all day until it's numb if that's what I have to do." I've never had a nicer or more considerate dentist. He genuinely cares about how his patients feel. The rest of the staff was friendly as well, especially the girl working the front desk. Their VIP savings plan is ACTUALLY an awesome deal (unlike a lot of other places). And they have groupons. You really can't beat this place. Wish I could give them more than 5 stars. read more
