When it came to hiring a photographer for my own wedding, I wanted a photographer who would focus on capturing cherished moments and expressions of the people we love, and my bar for quality was extremely high. We hired Nora and Solare Wedding Photography after interviewing 11 other photographers. Nora stood out from the pack immediately with her professional communication and attention to our wedding and us as a couple. She didn't treat us like just one of her many clients -- she wanted to learn about what was most important to us about our day, so she could focus on those elements when capturing our wedding. Preparation was smooth sailing -- Nora had well-defined forms to help her understand our timeline and gave helpful feedback. We had a ridiculously long day (prep - first look - ceremony - ice cream social - pictures at church - outdoor pictures - reception) and Nora helped us figure out how to integrate the formal portraits and group pictures we wanted into the activity of our day. Day of, Nora and her assistant were some combination of saints and miracle workers. There was a good deal of early drama (prep running behind, left hotel late for ceremony, etc) that lead to bride-freak-outs multiple times, but Nora and her assistant kept their cool and capture the moment and kept us moving along. There was not a shot missed nor photo op rushed -- everything was perfect. We received our photos back about six weeks after our wedding, and I was blown away by the depth of expression and emotion that Nora captured. Every smile, every funny face, every nervous expression, every joyous and loving moment was documented for us. Nora also responded quickly and professionally to changes to exposure that I requested on some photos. I couldn't have been happier with the final product. But we have not heard from Samantha Allen since, despite multiple attempt to reach her by phone, text message, and email. We paid in full prior to our wedding in September 2015 (18 months ago). It seems this is not an isolated incident, either. We have been in touch with other people who told us of a similar experience. Despite actively maintaining a Facebook business page, Samantha Allen Photography does not appear as a registered business in New Hampshire or Massachusetts.

She was so professional and experienced that she was able to parse back and nail it. Without a first-look and formal photo session before the wedding, we were isolated to the cocktail hour. She was able to find the perfect backdrops around our venue to get people in place, snap the photo, and send them back to the fun of cocktail hour. She was able to blend into the excitement of the day to be everywhere without being obviously in everyone's face. Her demeanor on the day-of was so professional and relaxed that it made the photo process stress-free. Then within days of the wedding, she was already finishing editing photos for her blog, with the full set in less than a month. I was so impressed with the quality of the shots I doubled down and am having her do a photobook as well. My husband and I searched for someone that was not a traditional wedding photographer but one that has a photo journalistic approach to wedding photography. We instantly fell in love with his photos on his site. Breck was the first photographer we met in person and from that moment we knew the search was over; he was it. Breck, along with his assistant, photographed our wedding Sept 18, 2009 at 1 Fort Mason, SF. He was amazing at capturing our day, from the mini getting ready session to the end of the night with all the crazy dancing. He captured all the great details of the day and venue, formal shots included, he put his own creative spin on them. He truly did an amazing job with the sun setting and with the night quickly approaching, our wedding party shots are amazing; you would never know how late in the day it was. Since our wedding had been rescheduled so many times due to COVID, when we finally were able to celebrate, we toned it down quite a bit and kept it much more intimate. Jim was able to get so many photos of our friends and family just having a great day and that is what we wanted. We did not go with a traditional chronological video, but chose a "Highlights" type of video which made for a more interesting video for people to watch as you are kept wondering what's next! Multiple cameras were used to show different view points during the wedding and they use radio contact for cordination, you hardly know they are there! Be sure to understand exactly what you get and what you don't get with the various packages that they offer, remember that the videographer owns the raw footage (not you) and it is an option to purchase.
