We had to seek them out during our Route 66 Centennial Celebration road trip in the Midwest. We found Buck Atom's Cosmic Curious on 66. Wow, that is a mouth full to say and type! It used to be a 1950's PEMCO gas station and became Buck Atom in 2019 which isn't very long ago. The front where the pumps used to be now has benches. There appears to be a food trailer or truck on its left that wasn't open when we were here. We saw the towering Buck Atom cowboy "Muffler Man" statue who stands 21 feet on the right, his space cowgirl companion Stella Atom who is slightly shorter standing at 19 feet on the left, and in the middle is a small, but cute nostalgic roadside gift shop selling Route 66 memorabilia and souvenirs. Perfect stop for my eldest daughter and I! Buck Atom's welcomes all visitors from around the world to celebrate the magic of the Mother Road Route 66 with cool apparel, fun art, great holiday and treats, nice jewelry, toys, neat souvenirs, nifty stickers, magnets and more. We noticed Buck Atom, Stella Atom, and other giants were on signages, buttons, coffee mugs and tees throughout the shop. This is a must visit iconic roadside attraction! I bought some magnets and coasters as keepsakes for me and gifts for friends back home. I wanted to get a t-shirt, too, but they didn't have my size. I absolutely love the concept of functional art and at The Chizel, they completely nail this through the etching of glass using the sandblasting technique. When I had my civil ceremony, my friend and officiant gifted us personalized champagne flutes with our initials and wedding date on them. It was such a beautiful and thoughtful gift that I have adopted it when I officiate weddings. Since then, I have ordered personalized champagne flutes multiple times from them and they're a pleasure to work with. She strategically places the right embellishments with the right papers. I love this! I also spend too much! Another thing Michelle does is sponsor a three-day retreat in the spring and fall at Fin and Feather in Tahlequah, OK. I haven't been to one yet, but I'm signed up to go in April 2015. Can't wait!
