The girl running the front desk, who continuously struggled to coherently articulate words into sentences, who appeared to be abusing anti psychotics/depressants gave me an option between 3 different boats. I chose a white tritoon and told her I would be there in 10 minutes (we are staying at a house directly across from the marina). My friend drops me off at the marina less than 10 minutes later with the jet ski we also rented from them the day before. I get there and check in with the manager to check out my boat and he tells me they are all booked up and can't accommodate us. The manager offered us no accommodations and told me, "sorry you're out of luck." For whoever is reading this it is important to understand they run their reservations for their watercraft on a computer system. There is no possible way they honestly messed this up. They 100% gave our reservation away to another couple in front of me who was complaining about not having any inventory. After begging the manager to figure something out for us so we could salvage the weekend, Sugar Hollow Marina then told me they have another boat they are picking up soon and maybe we could grab that one when it got back. They took my number down and promised to call me. Hours go by with nothing. I call multiple times asking for an update and the airhead front desk attendant continued to sell me a dream that we were gonna get a boat. I call back for the 4th time and I ask since they overbooked me, I cancelled another boat on the lake and ate a $450 deposit so I could rent from them, and now I'm not getting a boat at all, could they do something at all for us. I get put on hold and then she hung up on me. Never called me back. I will never give these people business again. Has to be owned by private equity at this point. Customer service doesn't matter. Absolute disappointment. Figured I could have fun and escape the transactional sad society I'm used to in the big city. I was deeply wrong.... DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE

We had to clean our own table off to sit somewhere. 2. They were out of ice so no one had any cold beverages, and the bartenders were so rude about it refusing to make drinks even though we said no ice was fine and also they out of majority of liquor. 3. We came on 4th of July and there was only 3 waitresses running the entire restaurant, we waited 3 hours on our food order just to find out they cancelled it 2 hours ago. Then they had to retake our order another 3 times to get it put in. 4. When the food finally came 4 hours later, the burgers came out raw, and was still missing half our order. 5. Then they tried to charge us for food we didn't even get. The management for this place really needs to do better. You'd think they would be more proactive about stocking liquors and assign more waitresses than usual for a holiday. And also if your entire restaurant out of ice should a manager go buy bags of ice to help the business do well on one of the busiest nights for a marina? I'm Baffled and what a shit show it was.

Some areas of the road could only fit 1 vehicle at a time, with a drop off on one side and a mountain on the other. Thankfully, we didn't encounter anyone on our way in or out. I had seen someone saying they had a hard time getting in and I had called ahead of time to ask if we could easily get in and the lady that answered acted like she had no idea what I was talking about. Once we arrived, I immediately didn't want to stay and went to look for something else, but there was no cell service. The signs were all faded, so not sure where to go to check in. We finally figured it out and went to the marina to check in. If you have any mobility issues, you will not be able to get down the ramp to get to the marina. One of the reasons we chose to stay at this place was because they had an on site restaurant. Once I saw the marina, I didn't want to eat there. Everything is run down and seemed dirty...Maybe it was just run down and old. They are listed as a resort...I can't imagine what part of this place is resort like. The pool hasn't been usable in years or maybe even decades and is fenced off. There is no where to swim or enjoy the lake, other than with your water toys. The lady (I think there's only 1 person and she may be the owner) that checked us in said we may or may not be able to pull through in our pull through spot, but that we can back in. There was a small ditch in front of the spot, so backing in was not possible. By the way, there are a few full time RVs and a few cabins and only 1 spot open for overnight guests. So, it's really not a campground or RV park. We squeezed in and lost a couple trim pieces along the way. Then when we got parked, our front door is just steps away from the back of a cabin. So there was no sitting outside and enjoying the lake or the scenery. Only 4 good things about our stay...They had a nice, wide ramp to put your boats and skis in. The person that maintains their grounds does a pretty good job. They have gas and good WiFi (our WiFi didn't work, as there was no service). I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but this place did not feel restful and vacation like. I wanted to save others from the same experience.

Took a cruise this morning to celebrate a couple's 50th Wedding Anniversary. They had their family…read moreand friends with them for a cruise of about two hours. The Volunteer Princes sailed from Volunteer Marina down river past Looney Island to Cherokee Boulevard. It then turned around mid-stream and headed back up river to it's dockage. The crew was excellent and the layout was a buffet forward on the first deck with tables aft and a bar on the upper deck with more tables. The boat has restrooms for men and women and plenty of room to move around on the two deck levels.. I heartily recommend the Volunteer Princess and her crew for your next event or occasion. So I take the blame for having to call the marina to verify where to pickup the boat. Pam was great getting us checked in and on our way. The boat performed well and we had a great day on Norris lake. My only complaint/suggestion, and why they lost one star, is the life jackets on the boat smelled like body odor. There were at least 8 life jackets stuffed into the back storage compartment. They were damp and just nasty. Luckily we brought our own so we didn't have to use them. Seems simple to pull all the jackets out, sanitize them(scuba places have this down for wetsuits), then hang them out to dry for the next customers. Besides that I would recommend twin cove for a boat rental if you have the need.

This particular marina is horrible! It's run by a guy named Corey that manages the dry docks and…read moreslips. My boat has been at this Marina for a year in dry docks. They damaged my new wake boat several different times, each time I brought it to their attention. Corey threatened to kick me out of the marina stating my boat was too big. Yet he has other wake boats on there as well. They actually ripped a large hole in my $1,900 boat cover and refused to pay for a new one and again threatened to kick me out. As we know spaces are limited on Tellico lake. Well today I got a random call from Corey stating I need to pick up my boat immediately that it's just too big after a year. No notice, no 30 days, he gave me until the weekend to pick it up. Stated the boat will be in the water Saturday and they are done servicing me. It's important to note I paid to get my boat repainted and all the damage they caused at no charge to them! Apparently this marina has like 11 owners and no way to reach someone above him to complain to. Now I'm left scrambling to find a place to even store my boat in the middle of the summer. User be ware!

This dock was purchased by a new owner in April 2022 and is now called Cherokee Boat Dock. They've…read moredone some nice upgrades. They have gas pumps, holding tank pumpout service, diner, drinks, bait, tackle, boating supplies, and plenty of other sruff in the shop. I bought 100% (ethanol free) gasoline and had the holding tank pumped out for a very good price. The owner's son Mason was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this dock!
