Plenty of TVs, a screened porch on the second floor was very nice to hang out during the morning. There was a grill outside, a pool table and games on the bottom level, even corn hole. We also ended up renting a boat at Lake Norris for Friday and Saturday and went out tubing, swimming and lounging around in the water, which was great fun. The resort also had a golf club but we could not find any tee times. At the entrance to the resort is a small Winery, which we did not have time to visit but looked nice. A posted sign said they have live music on Saturdays. It was a relaxing getaway. Please note: getting to this resort can be a little hairy, and will take a little patience as it is probably the last leg of your trip: a very windy and hilly 12 mile stretch of road took about 25 minutes during the daylight upon embarking from the town of La Follette.

The hotel staff called us a couple of times to verify our arrival time to make sure they had our room ready and security would be there to let us in (we felt oh so important). We started up the mountain and after a little way up we stopped to check in with security, a super nice guy who just had us fill out our paperwork and let us know our room would be open for us. We continued up the mountain but stopped frequently to take in the amazing views the altitude allowed. There are lots of spots to stop and sit or stand in awe of the beauty surrounding you. The Sasquatch cut out hidden in the woods was a bonus too! The room was just as amazing as the view. It felt like a little home and the bed was delightfully cozy. Our fridge had some beverages in it to enjoy during our stay as well which I really appreciated! The soaking tub was magnificent and the balcony is magical. We spent the majority of our time sitting on the balcony with some wine and enjoying the most amazing view of the valley below, it was our favorite part of the trip. The only downside was that the restaurant wasn't open during the year we went and there wasn't anything real close by to grab a quick bite. Ultimately we decided we enjoyed the room so much we didn't want to leave to find something to eat and just enjoyed the snacks we brought with us. All in all this place is amazing. I couldn't believe we were the first visitors because the view from this mountain is incredible. I hope they get their restaurant back up and running because I would love to return.

In between meals, we made sure to stay active to earn our appetite. The property offers access to great trails in the Smokies which we took advantage of as well as a lovely outdoor pool with a view. The room itself was pleasant as well. It was hard to leave the luxurious king bed every morning. The heated floors in the bathroom and the comfy sitting area made our Holly Springs cottage suite the perfect home base. We were also assigned our own golf cart to get around the property (although we chose to walk mostly to take in the views). Service was top notch and the staff were wonderful. Every evening they surprised us with a little treat for our anniversary which was very thoughtful. We couldn't have asked for a better stay!

You need 1) a waterfall that generates a lot of mist 2) dark surroundings 3) full moon (2 days before and two days after) 4) fir the full moon to be a 42 degree angle over said waterfall. This is the only place in the Western Hemisphere that meets these conditions monthly, and you will see lots of other Moonbow chasers during that period. The park is stunning anyway, with dramatic boulders and loads of gorgeous hiking. Not to mention, the area borders on the Daniel Boone National Forest, so there are arches and vistas all around. Currently, DuPont Lodge is closed for renovation within the park, however the Woodland Cottages (where I stayed), cabins, and campgrounds are good to go!

When she came over no greeting or anything. We asked for a table and she just handed us a buzzer without saying a word. If there's a wait, good grief please just communicate that. I asked how long the wait was as she was walking away and she says "45 mins"... crazy she expected us to wait without telling us how long it would be. Paulina, Maria, and Tamarah have been no help when we have spoken to them- only excuses and empty promises that lead to no resolution. Buyers beware: They are quick to lie to you to take your money, but they will ignore you and hold you to a contract even when the property itself is defunct.

There were at least 8 life jackets stuffed into the back storage compartment. They were damp and just nasty. Luckily we brought our own so we didn't have to use them. Seems simple to pull all the jackets out, sanitize them(scuba places have this down for wetsuits), then hang them out to dry for the next customers. Besides that I would recommend twin cove for a boat rental if you have the need.
