The campground has great camper spots and all the campers are so nice. I stayed in the cabins and they are also renovated with wonderful views of the lake. It is such a peaceful place away from the tourist traps of East Tennessee. OMG, did i mention they have boat rentals? We did kayaks one day and pontoon one day. It was fabulous and the staff were so eager to ensure we were taken care of. I would give it six stars if I could.

They have gas pumps, holding tank pumpout service, diner, drinks, bait, tackle, boating supplies, and plenty of other sruff in the shop. I bought 100% (ethanol free) gasoline and had the holding tank pumped out for a very good price. The owner's son Mason was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this dock!

The bathrooms at the parking lot were clean. Everything here was very functional. There are push carts in the parking lot if you have gear you need to shuttle between your car and the boat, which is convenient. Douglas Lake wasn't overly crowded which was welcome. Had fun on tubing with the family and the water was very warm in July, which was expected. We had a perfect time on the lake. Good family fun to be had here.

In terms of accessibility, be warned that there is a VERY steep incline down to the dock from the parking area, and even from the unloading area. Staff provided yeoman's assistance to get my wife's wheelchair down to the dock, but we elected to drop her off at a nearby dock and driving one of our cars to pick her up there to avoid having to push her back up that incline, which was difficult enough for 3 out of shape 69 year old men to climb without a wheelchair to push. The three jet skis themselves were a lot of fun, and that's really the only reason I'm giving 2…read morestars instead of 1. Before our reservation, we called to ask about the security deposit and were told it would be $500 total for all three jet skis. When we arrived, we were told it was actually $500 per jet ski, meaning we had to come up with a $1,500 deposit. That should have been explained correctly over the phone. The pricing also felt misleading. We paid about $190 for the jet ski rentals, but by the time all the taxes and fees were added, it was around $100 more. Then, after the ride, we were charged $126 for gas. They claimed we used 8, 6, and 5 gallons between the three jet skis, even though the fuel gauges had only dropped about 2-3 notches. The gas charges seemed extremely high. Another frustrating part was the rental time. Our reservation was for 2:00 PM, but we didn't actually get on the water until around 2:40 PM because we had to wait through a safety video, paperwork, life jackets, and other delays. Despite that, we were still required to return the jet skis by 4:00 PM. If your rental starts at 2:00, you should actually be on the water close to that time--not lose 40 minutes to the check-in process. There were also a lot of large logs floating in the water, which made riding less enjoyable and required constantly watching out for obstacles. On top of that, some of the additional fees were excessive, including a $100 assistance fee if staff has to come help you on the water. Finally, while waiting for our jet skis to be inspected after returning, we overheard two employees talking about one of the rental boats. One said, "I think that's the one that's been having problems," and the other responded, "I think it needs a new propeller," while laughing. Whether they were joking or not, it wasn't something customers should hear before another family takes that boat out. It gave a very unprofessional impression. Overall, the jet skis were fun, but the inaccurate information about the deposit, excessive fees, expensive gas charges, lost rental time, and unprofessional behavior left a bad impression. I wouldn't rent here again unless these issues were addressed.
