Wondering if the less than clean bathrooms are the same as the restaurant kitchen is not a pleasant thought. I wanted a different experience for my birthday. My husband researched several private chefs. A friend mentioned that the chef at Wrench and Rodent caters. It was a leap of faith as there was no menu but rather "chef's choice". Jessica and Davin arrived with a gigantic cooler filled with fish. Jessica set up for service and Davin started to work his magic in our kitchen. We invited four guests to celebrate with us, guests who are very important in our lives. We wanted them to have a unique experience to be remembered. And indeed, it was exactly that. Jessica and Davin worked together seamlessly, a dynamic duo. Course after course was presented with such beauty and grace. The flavor combinations were unique and inventive. We gave them a gift box full of organic fruit from our orchard that contained apples. Davin incorporated apple in one of the fish dishes! We had so many dishes that we had leftovers for the next few days! The generosity of food, sophisticated flavor profiles, and excellent service makes this unique dining experience a definite repeat. If you think this must have been much costlier than the best sushi meal in a restaurant, you are mistaken. The price per person was probably less expensive than dining at a restaurant as the portions of unique fish were so generous and there were so many courses. It was a perfect evening, a birthday to remember thanks to Jessica and Davin.
