I spoke to them and they said they would come a week later on Saturday. I called them the following Friday which was the day before they were scheduled to come out and the guy stated sorry we won't be able to come out. this is after I put in a vacation day from work. this company is horrible and didn't even have the courtesy to call me ahead of time to tell me they are not coming out. My main problem was the fact that they blocked our alley for hours at a time. They then ignored my neighbors who were trying to get around. They could have easily pulled their truck over a few feet to help me keep nice with the neighbors. Otherwise the fence looks good. read more

In July 2021 I hired On Guard Fence Co after a big build up by Tony Baio to install a $5,000 aluminum fence. He lied about the fencing product we eventually got. His installers made many mistakes and even needlessly destroyed hundreds of dollars of perennials, ornamental grasses and stomped their way through shrubs not in the way of the fence...just callous ignorant disrespect. As for the shoddy installation here's what was done wrong on a run of 140 ft with 3 gates in total. 3 sections visibly tilted. 17 of 20 line posts where each fence panel is to be anchored with 3 screws on each side for a total of 6 screws for proper support had only 4 or as few as 2. Of the 6 stronger GATE POSTS contracted for NONE WERE USED. All 3 gates do not close right because the installers measured the spacing between the posts wrong. Post caps won't go on because the installers damaged the posts. On even ground the fence panels undulate up and down. It looks stupid.. PROPER installation requires that the 3 extensions on each side of the fence panels get inserted snugly into the pre -punched holes in the posts. SNUGLY...NO GAPS all but 4 sections are DONE WRONG. Several fence panels had to be cut to be less wide. Those sections barely stay in because they were measured so badly. None of the post holes were even half filled with concrete. The installers only used about 4-6 inches of concrete just to keep the posts upright as they attached the panels. They then added water to set that little bit of concrete but filled the rest of the hole with dirt. I caught them doing this and called Tony Baio who said that's the proper technique. BULL SHIT..TOTAL BULL SHIT! There are 5 holes they didn't remember to back fill as all. They left all kinds of concrete or mud chunks and other unsightly stains which are not all coming off...the painted finish is damaged and makes the new $5000 fence look decrepit. When the installers were leaving I caught them with 2 extra sections I paid for in their truck. They said it was a mistake but had to go and would return the 2 fence panels the next day. THEY WERE NEVER RETURNED. Within a few days I became aware of the extent of the damaged landscaping and the defects in the installation. Missing anchor screws, tilted panels. Gates not closing right and such. I contacted Tony Baio who made promises BUT DIDN'T CORRECT ANYTHING..NOT EVEN RETURN THE 2 FENCE PANELS THAT I HAD PAID FOR. I have many pictures. read more

We hired onguard fence in May 2020 to install a new vinyl fence. It was between them and a larger company but due to COVID we thought we would give the small guy the business. Tony (the owner) came out and we explained that we wanted exactly what our neighbors across the street had. He assured me that he could do that and came out several more times to make sure we were on the same page. Not log after, I asked for a drawing the fence on our plat to submit to the HOA board for approval. Not only did it take weeks for him to send it to me, when I did receive it I saw that he marked a 6 ft privacy fence between us and our neighbor. This is not what we had agreed on or even allowed in our neighborhood. I pointed out the error and he apologized profusely and even said "Wow, I never make mistakes. You can even ask my wife." and then proceeded to tell me that our install date would be pushed back because he did not order the correct parts. I chocked it up to a one time error and gave him the benefit of the doubt but then the install date got pushed back 2 more times due to the manufacturer not having the material. We finally set a new install date after the new material came in. When that day came, he told me that they had to push the date back because JULIE could not come out to mark everything prior to digging. I called JULIE and found this to be a lie. I called Tony back and confronted him. He then told me that the city couldn't come out in time to inspect the post holes which I later found out was due to him not calling in a timely manner. When installation day finally came I was nervous because of all of the issues we had so far but also excited to see our new fence. The day started off good - the crew was nice and worked quickly. However, once they started to put the fence together, I quickly noticed that they were installing the WRONG fence. I panicked! I called Tony and asked him what was going on because that was not the fence we agreed on and that's not what was listed in our paperwork. He began to tell me that the manufacturer thought the fence they were installing was more in line with what we wanted. WHAT? How would the manufacturer know what I wanted? There was literally an example of what we wanted across the street! The pickets were smaller and there were larger gaps. The fence looked cheap. During our discussion, Tony asked me if I absolutely hated the fence and if it was "something I could live with". I could not believe the words coming out of his mouth. No - I could not deal with it. Tony said that he would try to make it right. He would finish installing the fence since we had a party that weekend and then he would work with me to get the correct fence. That was on 6/22/20. After about a month and a half of him trying to find the right fence but not actually getting close to what we wanted, we decided that we no longer wanted to do business with a liar and thief. We asked for our full deposit back and asked him to remove his fence. This was the absolute worst experience and I do not recommend that anyone use Onguard Fence unless you want to deal with someone who lied to gain our business and tried to save money by giving us a completely different and cheap fence (thinking that we wouldn't notice). After going through that nightmare, we found another fence company that installed the fence we wanted in less than 1 month. There was one small change that I wanted to make during the install. Instead of saying "is it something you can live with", they said "sure - whatever you want!". Don't waste your time or money with Onguard Fence. read more
