I would not recommend working with this meal prep company. There were several occasions where the protein portion was not accurate on the same meals some where 3 oz some were 4oz and when brought to the attention of the owner Marcus he would just make note never tried to fix the issue. In addition one time I was missing one meal and he promised he would give an extra the following week and never did. Finally the last incident I received a message 2 hours before I was set to pick up my meals and was told there was an issue with the kitchen and either I could be refunded or receive a credit. I never received either despite calling,texting and emailing several times. The customer service is awful read more

I do not recommend On-Season Meals. While the meals themselves were okay, the lack of communication and failure to issue my refund have been very unprofessional. On Sunday, July 5, at 10:55 a.m., I received a text explaining that an unexpected equipment malfunction late Saturday, July 4, had affected their production schedule. I was given the option to receive a credit toward the following week's order or a full refund. I replied that same day requesting a full refund. I followed up on Tuesday, July 7, and was told that refunds typically take three to five business days. By July 13, I still had not received the refund, so I reached out again but received no response. I followed up once more on July 14 and again received no response or refund. This is especially disappointing because I had been ordering meal-prep meals from them on and off for more than a year. I understand that unexpected problems happen, but a business should communicate with its customers and promptly issue refunds when promised. read more

It's been a while since I've ordered meal prep so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I can gladly say that Marcus and his team are awesome. I find that the meals are delicious and affordable. It absolutely beats spending more money on lunch when I'm in the office. I was also really surprised at the portion sizes too. I'm a big guy so in my head I'm thinking the portion size wouldnt be enough, but I was surprised to find I felt satisfied and full the rest of the work day. Pickup is pretty straight forward! The food tasted was bland but my biggest issue was pick up. You get a text saying what time to pick up and the address but no unit. You are suppose to arrive to his commercial strip and text you are here. ZERO RESPONSE. 15 minutes later I'm driving up and down this strip (none of the suites are labeled with OSM) until I randomly see another car pull up to a random end suite where I have to figure out that's where it is. This is my second pick up both of which were huge issues but the first one was my fault so I thought it would somehow be better. AFTER I get a text on a different thread saying "Sorry for the inconvenience. Customers pull up to suite N on Sundays and we bring the food out or they text the business line" which is NOT on any texts from the "business line" and they never replied once on that line. Hello yo this is Edwin, I've been using on season meals for the past six months now, and they have been so convenient for me. I've done a few meal prep subscriptions before, but this is the perfect amount for myself. I ordered the 15 meals package and is the perfect amount for someone who is 5'5 and Weighs 172 pounds. My favorite part about this meal prep subscription is the variety that I can get. Now, I do have to talk about what kind of person I am when it comes to eating. I'm not a picky eater, I will order everything on the menu, and for the most part don't have a problem with it . As someone who is constantly working and works 70 hours plus, I find this subscription very efficient for myself. My favorite meal definitely has to be the burger. Whatever burger they put out is amazing! The hospitality I've been given has been amazing, they get to know you and this is the main reason I've been with them for so long. I just want to start this by saying how disappointed I am to be writing this review. If I could give 0 stars, I think I would & that's very unfortunate. Last week, I put in an order. I decided on the plan for 5 lunch entrees and 5 breakfast meals. I was genuinely excited to start a journey of meal delivery services. I am a grad student and working two jobs. Lately, I've been working every single day with no break, on top of my classes. This is why I wanted to try out On Season Meals. I picked this company because they seemed like they had good options. The three big things that came into play with this decision was trying to find options that are healthy, convenient, and cost effective. While this wasn't the cheapest to order, I figured I was busy enough that the health factor and convenience would outweigh the cost. However, I came home on Sunday 2/23, I decided to try my teriyaki chicken meal first, and was extremely disappointed. I was having a difficult time cutting into the chicken, this usually happens if it's overcooked or undercooked. Well, I don't know about your, but I would rather see overcooked chicken in my meals. Unfortunately, when I finally got the chicken cut open, it was very undercooked in the middle. I checked my other teriyaki chicken meal and found the same things. To be quite honest, it being my first order really worries me and caused me to be a bit grossed out and worried to try other meals. At this point, on top of the cost, these meals were no longer healthy, or convenient since I couldn't even eat them. The next morning/afternoon, I emailed the company to let them know. I was worried about others not paying attention and getting sick if their meals had similar problems. I received a call from Marcus (the chef, I believe) but was working so I didn't see it until after. I will attach pictures of our text conversation following this. To be honest, I wasn't really expected a full refund, even though that's what I preferred. So the fact that they didn't offer even a penny back of all the money I spent for them to send me undercooked chicken, kind of upset me. I don't see why I would want to order more from there after that, at least not yet. Still, I was kind and I decided to give them some time to get back to me and it's Friday but they haven't attempted to really resolve the problem. Yes, they offered for a cooked order for this upcoming week, but if I am not confident in the company, I'm still not sure I would want to order again. I've ordered about 5 times from this company and noticed that each order was a little worse than the last. I'm also noticing this company seems to be going through some major staff changes. This company keeps closing and then opening. I'm so confused and have researched other meal prep companies that don't have so many issues. I signed up for their subscriptions service. During my first delivery, my bag of food was wide open. I only ordered 5 meals so there was plenty of room to zip the bag. They toss in 1-2 barely cold ice packs but they do use a decent cooler bag. I just thought the cooler bag would be way more effective if they closed it. Suddenly the subscription update form changes from being due on Friday to Wednesday. I used the brand new online subscription update form on Wednesday prior to midnight. I guess this is a non issue since they have canceled the subscription service. Delivery is nice but I never know when MJ meals are coming. There is no communication when the food is delivered. The food does not come with any heating instructions or a "use by day." I ordered salmon one time and there was use by date, the date was from the prior week. I tossed this item for fear of getting sick. Overall the food is usually ok but rarely looks like the pictures. When I ordered pancakes, they didn't come with cheese or fruit as stated in the description. Upon further inspection, there were two different pancake descriptions and one description replaced the cheese with peanut butter. I did have the peanut butter but no fruit. I didn't bother complaining. When I complained about getting the wrong food, the person who responded to my email said there was nothing they could do about my current delivery but I could email my future orders to increase accuracy. I find all of their steak dishes to be very over cooked so the meat is super tough once you reheat it. I tend to only microwave my food for 30 seconds. This is where heating instructions would be super handy. The spaghetti dish comes with a lot of sauce and a small portion of noodles. The sauce tends to have a lot of large, hard and mysteriously clumps in it. I can't tell if this is fat or bones or what. It really grosses me out when I bite into one. Moving up the cutoff time to order meals by Sunday also makes it difficult for me. Sometimes I just don't have my schedule by then. I'm sure there is a logical reading for doing this but it's been tough for me. I've recently tried Model Meals and you can order your food up to the day before. They also deliver twice a week so the food is fresh. I enjoy the text messages that Model Meals sends so that I know exactly when my food is coming. I'm currently in a break with OSM and not sure if I'll be returning. After checking the website when the company reopened (yet again), I noticed the delivery fee went from $15 to $25. And now they are charging $5 for an insulated bag. Price of meals also went up a few dollars. I might be priced out at this point. I don't understand why they don't recycle their insulated bags. I always left my empty bags and ice packs on my porch when my food was delivered, no one ever collected them. What a waste. read more

The food is great, the prices are good and the company is very customer friendly. That's what kept me from rating lower. Where OSM drops the ball, is quality assurance. This is my 2nd week ordering from OSM and this is also my 2nd week having issues with them. On my first week, I had my order delivered to me and it was missing meals. After leaving a voicemail that night, I did not hear back until 2 business days later. I was refunded the missing meals, and it was quick and easy. I did bring up an issue that some of my meals didn't seem to be the 5 oz. of protein I had order, but nothing happened with that. On week 2, I was missing another meal! I decided to pick up the meals instead of having them delivered. So I made the 70 mile round-trip to see if the previous week was just a hiccup or not. Instead of checking my items at the store, I put my faith into the company and drove home. Sadly, I was let down. I got home and noticed I was missing a meal and called. Got refunded my missing meal, hassle free again. But once again, a few meals had a questionable about of protein in them. Overall: The customer service doesn't make up for trouble of having to replace those meals. I work 12-16 hour days. Not only that, but once a month I work 12-15 days straight. Any freetime I have is super valuable to me and having to spend it replacing meals just puts a burden on my schedule. I would rate 4 stars if it wasn't for all the inconsistencies. I was skeptical about trying these meals, decided to go all in and sample a weeks worth and all I will say is Y U M! The Cajun Shrimp dinner . I'm recommending to anyone who never had meal prep before to try it. It saved me time and now I can focus on helping my kid with HW. I TRULY ENJOYED this dish because it is flavorful. I definitely fall into both categories. I like that OSM gives you different package options and if you don't want to do a package you can still just order individually. This week I went with the focus fuel and picked out 5 different meals for the week, not only were all good they were all different and healthy! Some meals tasted better than others and could've used a bit more seasoning or a "kick" but nothing a little hot sauce or my favorite Flavor God seasoning can't fix. You can definitely taste the freshness of the meals and when you get your order they do tell you which ones to eat first, this week I ordered the ceviche and was told to eat by a certain date. Wow, not sure what happened to OSM between 2017 & now but this is not the company I remember. I used to order religiously from On Season Meals in 2016-2017 when they were at the Fullerton location. I used to pick up my meals on my lunch break everyyy Monday with no issue whatever. Mind you, sometimes they'd get 1 or 2 dishes wrong, but the meals were so delicious I didn't mind. My absolute favoriteeeee was the cilantro-lime ground turkey. Fast forward to today.... I finally decided to get back on the meal prep train. I placed my order last week & when I received my confirmation email it said to pick-up my meals at some Nutrition place in Norwalk? (Ok, that's different but whatever.) I didn't think twice about it cause this new pickup location was actually pretty close to my new job I started a couple months ago. So on Monday, I go on my 30 minute lunch to Nutrition-4-Less & when I get there I tell the guy I'm picking up my OSM meals. Come to discover my meals aren't there..... I end up being in such a rush to get back to work I have no choice but to go to the nearest drive-thru & order a burger. -_- Not how I planned to start my week of clean eating.... I emailed OSM that same Monday & messaged them on instagram trying to get their attention . Finally a guy named Marcus reached out to me telling me that he had just taken over the company the day before & he wants to help me figure out what happened to my meals. (Uh okay weird, but okay). Long story short, Marcus the new owner had to send me some meals from his "personal stash" by Lyft at 10PM on Tuesday. And it wasn't even exactly what I ordered. No cilantro-lime turkey like I wanted. After reading other negative reviews & seeing people go through similar things, I should've just fought for a refund. Not even excited for these meals. Really bummed to see a once great meal prep company fail like this. This will be the last time I order from them. I understand Marcus the new owner triedddddd to make it right. Love the meals and delivery service texts me when it is dropped off at my door. This is a great feature because if I am not home I know it is there. Also, the first time they delivered they called me to verify that they were dropping it off at the right unit. I used to order freshly and they would just drop it off at another unit in my complex. There are so many options to choose-there is an array of international culinary delights that often makes meal selection difficult ! The menu changes every week so one is never bored. I've often asked to bring back certain items and they magically re-appear upon request! I often ask, "Who y'all got working in that kitchen, a Top Chef, Bobby Flay, a Food Network TV star, Martha Stewart ?" The OSM menu prep team and chefs are culinary geniuses!!! 2. OSM is affordable! I order 10-12 meals every week and I am satisfied every time I heat and plate my gourmet feast! I feel that the 3. They are efficient- I order , I pay, I pick up. Easy. Marcus greets me at the front every week at 12 PM ON THE DOT! 4. They've helped me stick to my weight loss goals by providing specific and exact nutritional info that helps keep me on track. TLDR; I'm pretty much obsessed with this delivery service and will continue to do it FOREVER. This is the most economical, nutrient enriched, and convenient service I've ever used. I've been on a weight loss journey for a while, and the hardest part of it has been preparing my meals. I hate dishes, I have to eat the same meal over and over, I can't cook so it's hit or miss and I'm stuck with bad lunches for a whole week if I mess up a recipe. After discovering the OnSeasonMeals delivery service due to needing it because of an upcoming surgery, I thought I would wait until my surgery to utilize it. But after seeing the extremely affordable prices (I'm talking 85$ per week for Lunch and dinner!), I decided to order before my surgery. I ended up saving HOURS OF TIME and DISHES. Literally this service is a godsend. If you live close by, are looking for a good way to eat amazing food, this is your service. Don't even look anywhere else. They have extraordinarily awesome discounts when you order early (1 week in advance)! So take full advantage of that and they change their weekly specials, while keeping classic favorite meals. You can also specify the time when you want your food to be delivered. They only deliver on Sundays and Mondays, I believe. So I chose Sunday at 6PM, and they arrived an hour after due to their large amount of deliveries. The delivery guy just dropped off the bag and no other transaction was needed! You can even give them tips online as well so you won't have to worry. I highly recommend tipping because they work hard so you don't have to! Okay, so let me tell you about the food. They provide a brief description of the ingredients and the nutritional information on the front of the Tupperware, which is great if you count macros. The food is organized so if you are OCD, you should have no issues. I'm talking sauce is in a cute little container, the whole shabang. They also tell you which foods to eat first so they won't spoil. You can even customize your meals and order freshly squeezed juices. I keep meaning to take pictures of the food but i get so excited that it's all gone before I'm even able to. The food is very light, but super rich. The salmon is cooked perfectly, and the weekly specials are to die for. I had a guiltfree philly cheese steak sandwich that blew my socks off. It doesn't get any better than this.
