Stopped by for the patio. It had a nice view of the lake. Food was ok but on the more expensive side. The fries were a bit soggy and wasn't really crisp. Wings were decent. Service wasn't good. We got our drinks but server never came back to take our order. After 15min we had to go flag someone down. Server never came to check in on us at all but she went to all the tables around us. Such a great way to dine in on the Main Street in Huntsville. The perfect spot for summer. It's worth waiting for an outdoor patio spot. This is a great place for groups and eating by the water is a huge bonus. They have live music nearby in the summer so that's also an added bonus. I got the shrimp garlic bake and it was delicious and filling, so much cheese! I enjoyed the mezcal mule as well and it's a great spot for drinks. You may need to look around for parking but it's worth venturing out and trying out this spot. read more

On Saturday November 22nd we went to the pub after our Christmas dinner for drinks and dessert. There were 5 of us and we are all locals, we work in retail and know the value of great customer service as we work it and live it daily. I was shocked at the service or lack of that we received from our waitress. We arrived at approximately 8pm and we left by 8:10pm, she talked to us and treated us like we were an inconvenience to her like she had better things to do than serve us. The fall and winter are a time when things start to slow down in our town, a time when you want to be able to go out and have an enjoyable evening with friends, it was a huge disappointment, thankfully we were able to visit a neighbouring restaurant/bar and receive the service that Huntsville businesses are known for. read more

Spread across three floors, next to the bridge on Main Street. The location next to the docks is perfect for patio weather - esp in the evening. The food is standard pub fare with generous portions, and the service is friendly but a bit slow (which isn't a problem given the setting). read more

On The Docks offers typical pub food with prime views by the water. We were meeting friends for dinner in Huntsville and they recommended this place. As it was raining, we opted to forego patio seating overlooking the lake, and sat inside. Proof of vaccination is required for indoor dining. Tables and booths are separated by plexiglass dividers. We ordered the beef dip sandwich with fried mushrooms with a side Caesar salad, and the steak taco with the wasabi mayo on the side. The steak taco was pretty decent. The beef was tender with ample teriyaki sauce on it. I appreciated that it had a lot of veggies in it, and was on the lighter side to balance out the carbs in the beef dip sandwich. The beef dip bun was lightly toasted, and the fried mushrooms helped amp up the flavour. The jus was a bit salty for my liking, but the sandwich benefited from the extra juiciness. Our ginger ales also seemed flat and lacking in flavour. Overall food and service were decent but I wasn't wowed. I think the biggest draw to this restaurant is its location off of Main Street, and proximity to the water. Would be a great place to have a drink and take in the view. read more

to start, we thought there would probably be a wait on this and there was NONE, amazing we got beautiful seats right near the water which near dusk was amazing. the food was fast, everybody loved what they got, i got the buffalo chicken wrap and they were absolutely delicious!! we started with garlic bread which was just good run of the mill bread. id recommend this for dinner any day. read more

The hostess's pick and choose who is seated on the lower deck by the water. And not by a first come first serve basis. They will take your name and number and make you wait while other "favoured people" that arrive after are seated before you with no reservation. The people being walked down to the lower deck ahead of us, were of a race that that was predominant of Huntsville. I'll leave it there. After the hostess duo noticed our frustration, they waived us up. When I asked for a table on the lower deck, she said it was a looooong wait, and did not give the option to wait. We were seated at the top deck. Fine. We accepted the table. And luckily we had a nice server. After settling the bill, my family and I walked down to the boardwalk in front of the lower deck. And as predicted the same people that arrived after us were given a booth on the lower deck. read more

Hanging out at the cottage, my wife's family brings me out to Pub on the Docks for the occasional let's get out and eat. The staff at Pub at the Docks has always been very friendly and attentive. Over the few times I've been to the eatery over the summer breaks, the food and staff have been pleasant and good. This round I had the Asian inspired beef wrap and a nice beer to go along with my meal, also had a taste of my wife's club wrap as well to get another dish taste. The beef wrap, being Asian inspired, had a good amount of wasabi that actually took over most of the flavouring of the wrap. The beef alone wasn't seasoned to my liking, but overall not a bad wrap. It didn't have enough spice. I think finding the balance of spices with the wasabi would help. I had a Caesar salad as my side and it paired well with the flavours. Then washed it down with a great local Muskoka Cream Ale. The club wrap was great. The sauce was well balanced. And the chicken was cooked very moist. Every summer, enjoy at least one visit to Pub at The Docks. read more

A watering hole by the water. Offers three levels of patio seating and indoor seating too. Staff are kind and friendly. Portions are decent and prices are reasonable, but taste is lacking and much of it is processed, pre-heated fare. The burger had too many grill marks and the stir-fry wasn't authentic at all. Stick to classics and salads and you will be fine. The soup of the day was roasted garlic and tomato which was scrumptious. read more

I've been here a few times before, it's never been anything special but is viewed by many as one of the few proper 'pubs' in town so I keep getting dragged back. Last time I went, a friend and I each ordered two different types of whisky straight. When it arrived, both of our whisky had upwards of 15 fruit flies in them. I have worked in bars before. These bottles must have been sitting uncovered for AGES for this to have happened. We brought them back to the bar to get new ones, and as we were waiting they told us to go back to our seats. Again, I've worked in bars before. I know they were straining the fruit flies from our glasses and giving them back to us and didn't want us to watch. Absolutely disgusting. If you want a glass of lukewarm bud from a half washed cup and to sit by the water, then you're all set. If you want an actually nice bar to drink at, Canvas brewery is about a 5 minute walk. read more

This place will always be known to us as KiKis Place. We were recommended to come here by many businesses in town. I'm so glad they did. We were served by KiKi the most personable and infectious person you'll meet! We had such a good experience the 1st night, we HAD to come back the 2nd night and KiKi did not disappoint. We should not have gone there with kids - we made a mistake as there was nothing for the kids. it was a Thanksgiving day and was extremely busy , the food was good. Servers were extremely busy or they were short staffed and we did not get the kind of service we expected. Absolutely the best location in summer for people watching as boats come and go. Met our friends and shared the nacho platter (average), amd has the steak salad, Caesar salad, beef dip and French onion soup which were all excellent. The staff were great, super friendly and we never felt rushed. read more

Great food...great service...great chance of spreading COVID. Because the service is on the patio, they are sticking to the letter of the law. They require masks on neither the customers nor the servers, in contrast to other places we've been, where masks were required on all staff and on customers when they're not at their table. We saw conversations happening btw customers and staff without distance, and our food was delivered by someone without a mask--giving them an opportunity to breathe all over our food. Disaster waiting to happen. Spoke to the manager and got "thanks for your input." I hope they take it seriously--Huntsville is the first place Torontonians will go! I'll be alerting the Health Unit. If this is legal, it shouldn't be. They didn't even have hand sanitizer as we entered the eating area--and no contact tracing, except the reservation service, which hopefully they can use to alert us when their staff gets sick, days after handling our food. UPDATE: I called the health unit. The staff ARE required to wear masks! I hope that their attention to food handling regulations is less cavalier than their approach to pandemic safety! read more

I have to give this place lots of stars just for the quality of the staff. With 4 adults and 3 kids, on a Friday night, we tried a place down the street and were rudely rebuffed, so we were pleasantly surprised at how accomodating the staff at On The Docks was. They moved stools from the bar to a round table to fit us all in, and did so happily. They made our night with their friendly service. Food was basic pub fare at reasonable prices. Not the greatest beer list (i hate a place that offers Rickards red as your "dark beer" option), but that is the only negative thing I have to say. I enjoyed my greek salad with chicken, everything was tasty and they treat you well. Nice location, with two decks overlooking the water. read more

My roommate is from Muskoka and I recently went home with her for a long weekend. We stopped by On the Docks to meet her friends for drinks. Since it was summer, we enjoyed sitting outside at the upstairs bar. The crowd was laid back, the live music was good, and I knocked back a couple of Bloody Caesars. The area of town nearby really makes On the Docks lots of fun. I can imagine how busy it gets when winter makes everyone stay indoors! read more

We Stumbled upon this patio randomly on cruise. Had an early dinner with the fam. If you want a great waterfront patio this is the spot. I enjoyed watching the kayakers and boats cruising the water. Just had a great evening with family. A beautiful evening riverside with great food, wonderful service and an ambience that are it perfect ! It is hard to believe that this area so recently was dealing with spring flooding. Staff were warm and welcoming, attentive to our every need ( almost anticipating !!). The appetizer of mussels was fantastic with the sauce rich and delicious with fresh ingredients. I had the No Name Chicken and it was melt in your mouth ( I think it deserves a name ! LoL!! ). Food was meh (club wrap and lemon pepper chicken salad); waitress with brown hair (who wasn't wearing a mask) said to another customer as I walked in and was waiting for take out "wow some people don't know how to follow signs" and rolled her eyes. She was talking about the signs indicting to take a seat, but I was waiting for take out and said as such. She passed me my food and just walked away, I literally could have not paid and she wouldn't have even noticed. Also, the take out was in plastic containers so the chips in the side were totally soggy. read more

The On The Docks Pub is a really nice place to get a drink, but the food is just okay at best. The place is clean, has great views from the back deck and patio, and has nice friendly staff. We got there just before noon so we had the pick of seats and chose a table on the back deck with a wonderful view. We ordered the nachos and the pork button bones, washed down with a couple of drinks. The nachos came pretty much as described, a nice big helping with plenty of toppings, but the sauce was a spaghetti sauce not a salsa so the overall flavor wasn't that good. The pork button bones were a bit better, but were just too plain and lacking flavor, even though I ordered the supposedly spicy Cajun flavor. The servers seemed a bit distracted the whole time, carrying on a deep conversation among themselves, so service wasn't the best. If I come back I'll stick to the drinks and view and skip the rest. read more

Great spot for a beer, great patios overlooking the water, standard pub fare (little less than standard), typical young local staff who aren't particularly good or bad. We were lucky to find this place for lunch after a google search for waterfront dining. I am sure we will be back again next time we are in the area. The staff was friendly and more than helpful with my fiancé's beer selection even providing a sample of something new he ended up ordering. I LOVE that they offer potato chips and French onion dip as a side. The jerk chicken wrap was tasty and perfectly spiced. The view is amazing and it's a very relaxing place to chill and have a drink. Hubby and I have been coming here for 16 or 17 years and it has been a favourite for it's location - in the heart of town and on the water - and ambience and food. They have done many renos and additions recently, adding much more patio space. The beer list is still good, the staff are still friendly and quick. Our food today, however, was sadly neither good nor reasonable. $12.99 for veggie nachos that had about 20 chips, 4 small pieces of tomato, 6 small pieces of green pepper, a reasonable amount of cheese and a LOT of green onion. The spring rolls, which have been a favourite for us, were bland, burnt on the outside and undercooked inside. We were quite disappointed. read more
