The studio is quite nice, if small--be prepared to wait in your car or the hallway, as they warn you in their thorough and clear confirmation email--and Steven is very conscientious about explaining his policies and method of working. Steven is efficient with his equipment and makes sure to focus the camera for every take, so no time is wasted. Be sure to take advantage of their generous offer to look at your sides in advance. Other reviewers have complimented on how prepared the readers are. I signed up very last minute and assumed they wouldn't have time to look at anything, but I would say to send your sides over no matter what. I was somewhat surprised when he hadn't heard of the show I was auditioning for, and surprised he hadn't seen the very famous show I used as a reference, but noting how prepared he was in other aspects, I assume that given time, he would have known both. If you plan to edit your audition yourself, bring a USB drive to get the files. Steven offered this to me, since he sends compressed files, but I didn't have one with me. The quality of the initial Dropbox files was too low to edit, but he was willing to send me a bigger file later in the day, for which I was grateful. Give yourself 24 hours, though in my case it came earlier. Note that they put their company logo at the front of your file, rather than the end. Check with your agent if this is acceptable to the casting director. SPS seems to have done a lot of work, so it may be fine, it's just not something I'd seen it before. In all, for the price and ease of scheduling, Side Pocket Station is a good bet. I would absolutely try them again if I could schedule in time for them to review the sides.

Through his work experience, he was already familiar with our culture, so it made easier when we explained how we wanted our religious ceremony captured. In the end, Laky incorporated our religious ceremony perfectly into the wedding video because he took the time to learn about the different parts of the ceremony (it was in a different language), and portrayed the ceremony correctly with the correct background music we wanted for each section, even following up multiple times to ensure it was correct. Post ceremony on the day of, there was a miscommunication with our photographer, but Laky immediately stepped in and confidently directed us...he saved the day by photographing our day for us with no hesitation! For our couple photos, we had another problem because the photo spot we had in mind was closed off and Laky was, again, quick to pivot and found us amazing spots around our reception venue. I am not naturally photogenic, unlike my husband, but Laky and his team made us feel so comfortable with their effortless conversation. Their demeanour kept us relaxed and in the moment. I've seen actors I recognize from TV (General Hospital, Curb Your Enthusiasm) come to do workshops, meet with casting directors and get the information on how to make it in this business. It's valuable information that it would take years to get on your own! You walk away knowing how casting directors see you, what roles you would be right for and how to have those perfect headshots that fit you! I went to an event and one of the casting directors told me I'd be perfect for Disney and gave me the number to call her friend over at Disney and got me an appointment. This I wasn't expecting and was an added bonus. Studio Productions, is professional, helpful, with a friendly staff. It's conveniently located with spacious studios. In all honesty, no one compares. Now you can be part of webisodes, get professional tape, headshots if you ask for any additional services they always have someone to refer you too! They've done all the work so you don't have too. They have speed rating events with agents, they have a party like atmosphere that make you feel you are in a red carpet type event. Through this company, I've met producers, have had meetings with producers and it's taken me further to network meetings. I know this might be unusual, and the results vary, but if I never went to this company the doors wouldn't have opened up for me to take this rare opportunity. It may not happen for everyone, but it will happen for someone. A someone who shows up. I just love that fact that people get opportunities here. It's all about who you know and Studio Productions is who I know. It's worth it to at least check it out as an actor, reality TV personality, or someone who wants to know more about the business or possibility thinking about becoming a casting director. Over the last 6 months, almost every audition/part I have gotten has been the result of the CD workshops at SP. I also got my agent as a result of a workshop. Like reviewer Shannon said, you have to have the goods for ANY workshop to be useful. Don't throw your money away on CD or Agent workshops until you really understand yourself and your strengths as an actor. And, hey, if you are having a disconnect and not feeling as though the workshops are yielding results, be willing to talk to Jenny, the awesome consultant and coordinator at the studio. As much of a genius as I think I am, I really do need someone telling me that I need to go back and do some more work in a particular area from time to time. I have to say these negative reviews make no sense to me based on my experience and the experience of other actor colleagues that have gone to Studio Productions. The cost of their workshops is very competitive (if not less expensive than other places) and I personally appreciate receiving reminders of workshops more than once. There have been MANY times when I heard about a workshop at the beginning of the week and it didn't register with me. It was only when I received the reminder that I remembered to sign up. And if I didn't want to do the workshop, I deleted the email and went on about my business. I highly recommend this place if you are ready to be in front of casting directors, agents and managers. The CD workshop is just a necessary expense for actors and Studio Productions is one of the very best places to spend the money.
