I've ordered graduation leis from Hi'iaka several time over the past years and the service, quality and cost are always good. During graduation season, it is always best to call and place your order. This most recent experience went a little sideways before Isha (the owner) got everything straightened out. I originally placed the order online for pick-up but for some reason, it processed as a shipped order and I was charged an extra $15. I emailed back and forth with Isha and I think she kept getting me mixed up with her other orders because she would ask me the same question over and over again. I finally tried calling and left a message. She responded within a couple of days and got everything fixed. I have been a customer of Hi'iaka Florist for almost 8 years now. I needed leis for graduation and I didn't want typical store bought. Found Isha (owner) through researching Yelp. I go to her for mostly graduation leis, floral head piece, funeral sprays, birthday and promotional floral arrangements. Too bad I didn't find her sooner so she could have done my wedding but I always have her in mind for everything else. I order and guarantee it will be delivered. My mode of contacting Isha is by phone always. I have never tried any other way to reach her but this mode of communication. She has worked out of her home but at one point she had a couple of stores but the pandemic impacted her business, so she is back to working out of her home which is great because it is so homey and very personable. bad service. there was a ton of miscommunication and told we were being called but i looked at my history and there were no miss calls

first off, the leis were gorgeous and the flowers were fresh. it's hard to find anything other than orchid or carnation leis in the area and hi'iaka had a great, authentic selection. prices were so fair too compared to your typical florist! as for ordering and pickup, i didn't have the smoothest experience. i emailed a few days in advance acknowledging the last minute request during busy grad season but isha replied saying she could accommodate. initially she said next day pickup but ended up requesting for the day of the event. no prob, i was flexible. i called to order as instructed and she sounded busy and said she'd call back but didn't so i called again and paid over the phone, confirming pickup date and time. at pickup time, no one answered the door or phone (thought i was getting ghosted) so i texted and offered to come back later if she needed more time and she replied yes please. again, no prob bc i had time to kill but proactive communication would've been better. all this to say: everything worked out for me bc i had the flexibility and understanding but if i were on a tight schedule i would've been stressed. like i said though, gorgeous leis! read more
