What a delight! My sister and I had breakfast there and the place was packed and it is a 'seat yourself' establishment. The first thing you notice is the warm and inviting staff. They treat you like you're the 'favorite neighbor'. Right away they bring you out a 'biscuit with gravy' just for you to try. What a smart concept! The menu is both breakfast and lunch/dinner and it offers many options to choose from but not too many and several are your American favorites but also southern style flair. I had a meal that was big enough for a king but I wanted it because it offered a taste of everything I want when I'm eating breakfast. 3 eggs, ham steak, sausage patty, bacon, hash browns, and a side of their fabulous pancakes and they come in your choice of flavor and I got the pecan. Honestly, besides the food being remarkable, and the service on point, the restaurant has a 'homey' feel to it and there are pics of the owners family all throughout. We have just moved to Donna Texas and we're looking for a breakfast place. Went over to social media and found this place and it truly delivered and what we were looking for! When we arrived, there was only one table , but by the time we left, the place was packed. Our service was amazing, the food incredible. We tried this restaurant after reading many positive reviews regarding the quality of the biscuits and gravy. The reviews were correct; the biscuits and gravy were excellent. In fact, after taking our beverage and food orders they brought each of us a small sample consisting of half a biscuit with sausage gravy. It's their version of "chips and salsa" according to our server. And it was pretty tasty. First off, they open the face of the biscuit, then I suspect they use butter or some form of oil and place it on a flat top and griddle it to a nice golden brown before covering it with gravy that is loaded with lots of sausage. They are the best B&G I've found here in the RGV. Not the best I've ever eaten, but still very good. It is a small joint and on the day we were there it was staffed by two guys that were trying their best to keep up with a full house. Overall they did pretty well. Later on during our visit a gal showed up and helped out. Our orders were taken and read back to us for accuracy which was notable. Our food arrived correctly. There weren't any mistakes. It seemed to me everyone's food was prepared correctly as well. My OE eggs were perfect, my bacon was crisp, as ordered. The time from order to delivery was a little long, but not so much that I wouldn't return because of it. Their prices over all are on the low side in this day and age. I had a #1, Grandma's Plate or something like that. It consisted of two eggs, two strips of bacon, a small serving of hash browns and two biscuits and gravy. I also ordered an orange juice. The price for that breakfast was only $7.99 which is great. The wife order a #1 as well with ice water. In total our bill was pennies north of $20 including tax, which is more than reasonable. Unfortunately it's a longish drive from our home and even with the quality and pricing we probably won't be frequent customers. But with its location along US Bus 83 in Donna I can see why they are full. It's a short walk from a large RV resort and a few short miles from many more.
