My fiancée and I were looking for a nice brunch place and this was definitely a good choice. The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere with a country-saloon vibe. The bar area had a large selection of wine bottles. The waiter service provided the correct amount of attention (not too much nor too little). We had the red chilaquiles with chicken and chorizo. The tortilla chips were crisp and not soggy which is a big deal for me. The plate was served in a bowl with black beans, cheese and a side of potatoes. The sauce was flavorful and not spicy nor bland. They did not cheap out on the cheese and added enough. The meal portions were huge! The reason for the 4 stars is because the potatoes could use more seasoning and the coffee was slightly watered down for my taste. Regular chilaquiles were $12 with $3-5 for add ons. Would definitely recommend as they have a wide selection of pancakes, waffles and many other traditional American and Mexican plates. Definitely coming back! read more

Great pre spot to start the nite or just to keep chill with that special someone. I ordered apps only. I ordered shrimp cocktail and fire gacu dip. Both very good and well served. I also got to sample there panchos from a fam member. They were very good. Panchos are chips covered in beans , tomato,onion, cheese and fajita (strips of beef skirt) yum...Great service r wait staff guy was great . Didn't much care for the location of this restaurant. It was in a sort of strip mall. I usually don't frequent those type of settings, however it had such good reviews I wanted to try it out. The place was nice and clean but there was only one other couple eating in there and that sort of gave me a bad feeling when I first walked in. After we were seated the waiter came right away to take our order. I had the fajita plate, and my niece ordered the enchilada plate. Both of us found our food very palatable and really enjoyed it. We were served free chips and salsa before our meal. I found the chips crispy and tasty but the two sauces that they served us were much too hot for my palate. I am a gringo and just can't take they heat. I wish Mexican restaurants would serve a milder version of their sauces so that we people who do not enjoy having our tongues cremated could have something to dip our chips in too. All In all it was a 5 star restaurant, in my opinion, and we both enjoyed our leisurely lunch there. I would return again if I am ever on that side of town. read more

First time been here and we love it. It was their grand opening today! We try their tacos fajita and toreado tacos . It was kind the same but just with onion and bell peppers. Any ways the fajita is really good, so tasty and soft! We couldn't stay but they were preparing some tacos and margaritas to share in the grand opening. Excellent service, gentle people. Yum! What a nice surprise. My husband and I stopped in here for lunch and we really enjoyed everything about this place. It was fairly quiet, only a few other patrons were dining at the same time. Our waiter was very friendly and provided fast service. They start you with chips and salsa while you wait. Then you receive a small soup. Today's soup was a vegetable one with zucchini and carrots. It was delicious. I ordered the lunch special which was a grilled chicken with mushrooms, rice and sautéed veggies. This was just what I was hoping it would be. The chicken was juicy, the sauce was light but flavorful. The rice was a simple white rice with veggies in it. The sautéed veggies were carrots and zucchini. They were cooked to perfection. Not too firm but not mushy. It also came with two pieces of toast. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and hope to return soon and try something new. read more

If you say you have the best fajitas in town, you need to bring your A game...they do! It's my only meal I've heads on this city, but there are goods as I've had anywhere. This is my first time here. It is in a strip center in Pharr. The chips were fried to order and the salsa was very flavorful. The green sauce was super spicy! My husband got the fire guacamole burger. It was very good and very spicy! The fries are dusted with parmesan and were done to perfection. I got the cheese enchiladas which comes with excellent rice and refried beans. The enchiladas were a little too cold for me but the flavor and the cheese were right on target. The ladies restroom was a bit of a concern also. One of the stall doors wouldn't lock and one of the toilets was out of order. I would definitely give it another shot, though. read more

We tried this place after we tried to eat at a Mexican restaurant that we found out when we got there that they closed at 3 PM on Saturday. Go figure! On The Grill had good margaritas and I had the pork shops. OMG. Served fajita style on a hot griddle with grilled onions and peppers. These chops were very tinder and flavorful. I've never had chops like this. You have to try this. We are Winter Texans and we will be here for 5 months, so we will be back. read more

First time visit to On the Grill which has largely been flying under the radar. I had the fajita tacos and they were excellent. There are two things that can go wrong with fajita tacos, the meat and the tortillas. Those two things, of course, are also what can go right. In this case, On the Grill was right on with really good tortilla and way above average fajitas -- thick, juicy and flavorful. Rice and beans were good also. Ambience was cool and music was great, classic rock. There is nothing worse than eating Mexican food with a mariachi blasting in your ear. Nothing like that here. Just good rock 'n' roll. Very lazily put together if y'all weren't so far I would go ask for a refund. This is one of the best places I have been to in a while my waiter was one of the best kind of people funny and a cool person he really cared about everything tasting perfect and it REALLY DID!!! If you decide to make the right choice to stop in make sure you try the desserts we tried both and they were delicious.
