We went here before the ugly Christmas sweater bar crawl. Since there was an event going on it was busy, but I was still able to get some food relatively fast. I got two cheese coneys which I liked and they were full size hot dogs. I wouldn't mind going back to see what it's like during a normal day. read more

The OTR eatery is not just a place to stop while you are shopping at Kroger, it is a destination in itself. Housed on the floor above the new Kroger on the Rhine, the eatery is what some might call a food court, but to me it feels much more modern and cozy than that. I have been here twice now, both times just for the eatery. There are plenty of choices to suit the something for everyone mentality. Dope Asian has wings, ramen, and salads to name a few. Kitchen 1883, owned by Kroger, has breakfast options, sandwiches, and shareables. There is also a full 1883 bar with beer, cocktails, and wine. The beloved local fave Django Western Taco has all the mexi faves including margaritas and even a spicy brownie! Elis BBQ has pulled pork, smoked turkey, hot dogs, ribs, and all the side fixins. Queen City Whip does all the burgers, fries, dogs and yummy Milk Shakes. Checkout each place's menu board for specials they periodically offer. There is plenty of seating to enjoy whichever food you pick in a centralized area. Special events are often held here, so check their website for listings. If you spend $15 or more, the businesses can offer validated parking for the attached Kroger garage, up to 2hrs. After that, beware, the garage, owned by 3CDC actually charges you double the listed rates and validation is null and void. read more

This eatery has several different stations with decibel fried chicken, dope Asian street food, a bar and more! It's the upstairs of a Kroger which is weird, but the balcony and outdoor seating is fantastic! It's open seating and you order your food at the counter and bring it to your table, so it's self service. Definitely a great spot to stop in and check out! read more

There is so much potential for the OTR Eatery space to be something as significant as hip food halls in other cities, like TimeOut Market in Chicago or Miami, but Kroger's ongoing management of the space is inconsistent and subpar, hence its struggle to find traction since it opened and the frustrating customer experience of showing up during normal hours only to find a full shutdown (more than once). I attempted to visit today during the regularly scheduled hours published online but they were randomly closed for an unannounced private event. There was nothing outside of the space, online, on the first floor, or anywhere for customers to know this. Additionally, the event staff was *extremely* rude about this as well, as if it were published anywhere that they would be closed or as if the event were outside of their standard operating hours. What a crappy way to treat a regular... There are already not many customers coming here right now and most of the occupying restaurants have closed during the pandemic. PLEASE get it together Kroger and announce ahead of time when you're closing all restaurants for a private event before you annoy and lose the remaining regulars you have left. The hours are already very limited. Operating like this is how you put the rest of the small business restaurants depending on you out of business. Or hand over the daily management to a company that has successfully executed a similar concept in other cities before. OTR Eatery has so much potential if it could be better managed. read more

Definitely a cool place. Good variety of restaurants to choose from, and right upstairs from the Kroger store. It's like a food court that doesn't insult you. There are different kinds of seating, high-top counters, booths, low-tips, loungy chairs and coffee table style tables. There's Django Western Tacos, Eli's BBQ, Queen City Whip(burgers), 1883 Cafe(salads/healthy), Dōpe Noodle House(ramen, bao buns, dumplings). 1883 has a full service bar as well. Ok, now you are going to pay more for a meal here than you would at a mall food court, but the quality you receive here is way better than the fast food places at the mall, for sure. This was after my first visit here in February. I didn't go all over, but during warmer weather, I believe I saw people on a balcony eating/drinking. OH! Also, you get 3 hours of free parking on levels 3 and 4 in their parking garage with entrance on Central Parkway as long as you've spent $ here or in Kroger. Just bring your receipt and you get it free! -no word on what happens if you overstay your 3 hours. I can definitely see myself hitting this in the future, especially when I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for. Recommended! read more

This review is a long time coming. Stopped by after work for a happy hour cocktail and some dinner with a friend. The cool part about this location is you can park in the Kroger lot and then use your receipt to receive free parking as you leave. Also since they have several restaurants, you can pick the type of food you like instead of needing to agree among all diners. Some of the options are hotdogs/burgers, sushi and ramen, barbeque chicken and pork and burritos/tacos. The bar also offers some cool "bar bites." My companions and I chose Eli's chicken barbeque with mac n' cheese and Django Taco salad. Eli's staff were happy to make small adjustments to our order and was my 1st time tasting this Cincinnati fave. Django is always a hit with their mix of flavors and textures. But the bartender in this grocery store/lunchroom atmosphere was surprisingly the best part of the experience. She was knowledgeable and had a great personality. This is probably not a place to take a date because it is sometimes loud and not exactly beautiful in design. But it is great for a quick escape or just for the experience! read more
