After getting 4 quotes from 4 handymen, I went with Gabino for the handful of small home projects he was able to knock out in one days time. Not only because I thought the price was reasonable, I felt like Gabino and his female administrative partner who helped with translating his Spanish to me were sincere, honest and capable of all the projects I needed down. Gabino and his female partner showed up on time to look at the work and provide the estimate. The estimate they provided was clear to me and as agreed on the day of service. Gabino and his brother (I think it was his brother) showed up on time to execute the work. Gabino and his female administrative partner were in constant communication via text or Yelp messenger with me on all matters. The partner was a female who was incredible nice, perfect English and clearly helpful to Gabino in working with someone like me who speaks no Spanish. Gabino speaks English, but is a little limited when talking about specific details of work projects. From fixing some paint patches on our garage floor that were peeling up, to then completely resealing the garage floor, to repairing a bad drywall rematch done by another handyman, to shaving the top of a door that would not close, to repairing a small leak off a kitchen faucet, to installing a bedroom closet system, Gabino did good work on all the projects that I needed help with. I felt like Gabino is a "jack of all trades," for he was my only handyman bid that was able to do all of the projects I needed. Although fixed by my husband after Gabino left, the only hiccup was the closet system needed to be more secured into the drywall with butterfly screws that were not used when the closet was installed. My husband thought that a handyman would just know this, for the system was not 100% secured to the wall. In Gabino's defense, they were not supplied in the closet system boxes and he absolutely wanted to come back to properly remedy when I reached out to him after he had left. It was a fix my husband was able to resolve and we did not need Gabino to return after all. It was not a big enough hiccup for me to not be happy overall with Gabino's time on my projects. I would call Gabino again when I have a list of home projects to complete. I felt he was appreciative of my business and I was happy with the work he performed and at the price I paid. read more

I really wanted to be happy with these guys. I hired them to remove backsplash in my kitchen and install new drywall. Pretty big job. Price was better than most quotes (by a couple hundred bucks) but I almost regret it because of the problems left over when they left. When they started to remove the old backsplash they had no regard for my floor (my new wood floor) or my granite counters. They just started to shred up the wall and everything (like broken ceramic tile) went everywhere. They didn't cover the floors and half covered the counters. My stove was full of drywall! They used the tools I had in my house and took them when they were done. It was nothing major (a grout scraper, a hammer, etc.) but why would anyone do that? They also used my canvas tarps that I bought to paint. Again, couldn't you bring some? They also threw again some items in my living room because it got caught into there stuff. Like my fire alarm, I had to dig it out of the trash (that they left behind). The end result was not well. They definitely rushed and it left lasting effects. They put my blinds back on, causing the texture and cement stuff that goes on drywall to fall off on that area of the window. They could not find my baseboard that they removed? They also bent my outlets and did not set them back afterwards. I was unable to bend them back myself, so I'll probably spend more money having someone replace the messed up ones. My door frame on my pantry is broken. You can see in my pictures it wasn't broken before and by the time they were done it was. That will cost money too. I reached out to Gabino and he basically said "bend them back, I don't know what to tell you". Really upset since this is my new home. Definitely recommend GG! He and his son arrived and were quick and reliable. I thought it was a high price for the service but I'm sure the more work he does he can come down on price. We had a roof tile blow off with all the wind a few nights ago and after calling SEVERAL Roofing companies and handyman services we were lucky enough to find GG Handyman. The roofing companies all wanted a deposit of $500+ (JUST TO COME OUT TO REPLACE A SINGLE TILE) and a lot of handyman services won't do second story roof work. I live in California and I relied on Yelp review. I called Gabino to fix the tiles in my condo's stairs. He did a very lousy job. He sent me a different angle of pictures and I paid him right away, $600. The following day my tenant sent me other angle pictures. I was shocked and I have been calling him to go back and fix it, he said he will but he never did. Don't fall for the nice pictures shown on Yelp. Don't call him for any repairs he will ruin it more instead of fixing it. He is fast too collecting his payment. My regret - I trusted Yelp reviews and pictures. Where to begin....He showed up late. Then he had to go to buy a tool to cut a hole in the door. So, he was supposed to start at 1:00, didn't actually start working until 2:00. Fast forward to 4:45pm, he's finally done and I inspect the work. I am at a loss for words. It looks horrible. Can't believe I agreed to pay $130 for this. I had a flood in my kitchen which was remediated by another company. GG repaired the drywall under the kitchen, spackled and painted. They also lowered the kitchen drain to accommodate a deeper sink I plan to install which was not in the original plan but they adjusted and did a really good job. A week later, I called them again to replace the two upstairs toilets at my house. Accomplished the task decently (you get what you paid for). Pricing was really well, which is why I went with him. I was building a pergola in the back and I have many projects so I decided to get a handyman to do this task that I couldn't do on my own at the moment. The man is really nice but I don't know if I'd hire him again. This is only my preference because of the quality. I understand that cheaper pricing means lower quality but the man clearly wants business and is a hard worker. His attention to detail is what is lacking for me. Not to mention the slight improvements that could be made at no cost but he choose the "it's good enough" route. I hired him to hang a garage storage rack. The rack was bolted to studs (after several missed drilled holes) but not against the walls for stability. The rack was un leveled on a few brackets so I needed to adjust it properly to get it just right (it looked a little off). Each leg wasn't leveled and the bolts were all facing different directions. I fixed all his rack installation mistakes in 3.5 mins (I always time myself to see how he could have done better). Lots of brackets were mounted by drilling to find a stud, rather than using a stud finder, magnet, or the neighbors house (no drywall on a new build). Also, if you look at all the mounts, no washers were used.. I don't believe the rack came with washers but my garage has bolts, washers, nuts in a new organizer which I would have gladly offered to him. I will be adding the washers myself to check if everything is in a stud before use. The part that upset me the most is that I helped him move all the stuff out of the way, we talked, he was friendly, and even had his kids help. After the job was done, he shook my hand and left quickly. He left dust, dirt stains, nicks, and scratches everywhere on a freshly painted wall. I took the time to vacuum, wipe, and repaint all the spots that went through the paint. After leaving everything, he asked to please leave him a review so here it is. They widened hole in cabinet shelf to expose entire fan exhaust, opened hole to outside (thru stucco), attached new vent ductwork & cover, taped and sealed. GG handyman (Gambino) and his friend, came to my house to help me with repainting my daughters purple room (10x10 room) I provided the paint, blue tape, and paper to cover windows and Gambino provided the labor and everything else that was needed. He was on time and very efficient and was the most reasonable quote I got for the paint job. He finished painting the room in about 4 hours and that included 2 coats of paint and removing and reinstalling anything he had to take off to paint underneath. I had this guy come out twice. It is very hard to understand his. Really struggled to get his mean on what was needed. I finally just decided to give him a try.
