tl;dr Very disappointed given the great reviews. It sounds like Daniel is great, but has had a lot of difficulties scaling his business. There was general dishonesty about the price and sloppy workmanship from Nick and his partner. I have incomplete work that will cost me more time and money for someone else to do. Here's what happened: I texted Daniel a list of items I needed done in my house. He said he would have someone contact me immediately, which they did, so far so good. I went over my list of things that needed done: - floor trim (7 transition areas) - finishing baseboards (2-3 small areas) - drywall patching from moving electrical - rangehood installation and microwave removal - kitchen cabinet trim (5 straight lines, approx 30ft) - trim on 2 doors Separately I wanted a backspash installed, but we did not agree to do this within the initial scope of work, which is fine. For the above work, minus the backspash, I was quoted $480. Keep in mind, I had most of the supplies. I sent a message confirming all of this after Nick had come to my house. An hour after leaving, he sends me a text and says that after thinking about it, the molding for the cabinets is very expensive and needs an extra $120. Since that sounded far too expensive, and after going back and forth, we decided that I would buy all necessary materials, and he would charge me $400 for the labor. Even better, since the extra trim came out to about $80, not the $120 he said it would cost for extra materials. One unforeseen thing that happened was there was more damage to my kitchen island than originally thought. So, we discussed it, and Nick said to add an extra $50 to the total price, to which I agreed. After a delay of almost a week because Nick's partner had to go to Miami for family (understandably these things happen), the work started. Nick and his partner would spend a couple hours each night working on the projects until they were finished, again, totally fine. On the second time being here, however, Nick and his partner started trying to take shortcuts. - They chipped a transition and only tried to patch it - The center island drywall was cut so the baseboard went inside the drywall, and the drywall was shaved off - They didn't want to paint the cabinet trim with the paint matched color, they wanted to use spray paint, which wouldn't match Then, Nick asked if I could paint the kitchen island and trim, complaining that the job was costing them too much. Again keep in mind that I have paid for 98% consumable supplies up to this point. They only brought themselves, their tools, and a bit of drywall left over from another job. They continued to ask me to buy more things. Which is fine, I agreed to pay for the supplies. I'm totally fine paying more for work that was outside the scope of the original agreement. The island, for example. However, Nick started asking for more money for the same work. I would also understand if more work was uncovered along the way, but this was the same work that was agreed on at the beginning that was getting more and more expensive. He also wanted me to do some of the work he had said he would do in the first place. To me, this is unacceptable. So now I have unfinished and damaged pieces. - The aforementioned transition (damaged) - Uninstalled floor (transition) trim - Uninstalled Rangehood - Uninstalled cabinet trim - Uninstalled baseboards - Unfinished/unpainted kitchen island - Unpainted door trim read more

Happened to stumble across this company when searching for a local handyman company to patch up some holes throughout my apartment for my final walkthrough. I had consulted with a few different companies prior to contacting My Handyman Group, but after giving me an estimate, all of them were very inflexible and couldn't do the work by the time I needed it to be done. I called My Handyman Group, and I believe I spoke to the owner himself. I really appreciated the fact that the owner takes all phonecalls himself, it made me feel that there is a great sense of care behind their work. After speaking to the gentleman on the phone and telling him I needed someone ASAP, he immediately put things in motion. I receive a phone call from the handyman not 10 minutes later, telling me he could be at my apartment to give me a free estimate within the hour! Wow! That was exactly what I wanted to hear, seen as though the following day was my walkthrough! We set up a time, and we are ready to go! The handyman, Nick, comes to my place, super professional and knowledgeable and discusses everything that will need to be done, which was A LOT! Although it was just small nail holes, and some larger holes to patch up, it was still a lot of work! After assessing all the work necessary, he tells me that if I agreed with the price, he could start immediately! Wow! That was great news!! After receiving other estimates, I knew the ballpark of the amount of money I was looking at (which was a lot!). After estimating all the work he would have to do, the owner and Nick discussed a price for me, which was super fair and came way below my expected amount!! Within the hour, Nick, had all the materials he needed to perform the work. He worked very neatly and was super attentive to all the details, as if he was working on his own home. He made sure everything was covered up so that none of the paint would get anywhere on my carpet, etc. He worked from morning to night, straight through (all but the time he needed for the mud to dry). He really put his heart into this job! End of story, we received our deposit back the next day, and we are now all moved into our new house! Woo hoo! Daniel is the best! We just purchased our first home and needed to get all the electrical outlets replaced (including GFIs) and Daniel handled it all on his own. He was reliable, punctual, and reasonably priced! Daniel did such a great (and was extremely fast) we had him do additional projects for us: ceiling fan installation, TV mounting, light fixtures, curtain rod installation, dishwasher air gap issues. He also has colleagues he works with on his team that can do anything that he can't, we used some of them for bathroom plumbing issues & exterior painting. He quoted me $150 and said parts was included but when you got to the store he called me and said that the price was going to be $200 because the part that my fuse required was more than he expected. Saw that the Yelp reviews were very good, so I called to have some inoperable kitchen outlets looked at. Daniel arrived and replaced two ground fault interrupters at a very reasonable rate. He was unable to restore power so he called in a senior electrician. Later the senior guy arrived, Maurice(Banda LLC).He spent about twenty-five minutes fiddling with the outlets and had power restored. For this he charged $250.00! If $10 a minute is your idea of reasonable electrician rates then these are your guys! My advice is to seek someone more reputable. Yelpers, please consider this an addendum to my above review. Daniel was so concerned that he stopped by to correct any insufficiencies. He said that the other electrician was not an employee of his but merely a referral. A referral I don't believe he'll be using again. All of Daniel's work was efficient and professional. My confidence in him is such that I have engaged him to do further work in my home. My mother lives in Las Vegas and called me because all her smoke alarms were going off and would not stop. We walked her through a few steps but nothing was working. Absolute nightmare and completely unreliable! So I called Daniel and told him about the job description with photos and all the details at about 10am. He told me it would be no problem and he would be there at 1:30 PM. When 1:30 came around he then told me that he's going to be late by about an hour. I said no problem! He didn't call after an hour and I had to text him asking where he was at? He then says I'm sorry I won't be there until about 3:30, I said OK, then he doesn't show up so I called again and he said he could come at 4:30 finally at 4:45 he calls and says he probably can't make it but he would have someone one else will call me. After giving the job description for the second time with photos, the woman on the phone tells me her price is $500 and didn't even look at the my condo, which was about a 3 to 4 hour job. I know because I have vacation rentals and many other properties in Vegas, so I'm not a newbie. I explained to her I owned dozens of properties since I started in 2010 and know for a fact this pricing was unreasonable! I provided photos and details of work and again specified it was a 3 to 4 hour job and they never set a foot into the condo to give an accurate estimate! To top it off she was extremely rude and proceeded to degrade me, About how I know nothing about my business. I find it shocking that someone could give me a verbal quote without having step foot on the property and be as rude and degrading as she was! I was so upset I simply just hung up on her! After doing some research on contractors, we decided to do business with Handy Man Group to renovate a 9x5 ft bathroom (a simple removal of existing tub and replaced with walk-in shower, including replacement of flooring, accessories/fixtures, etc - nothing fancy). They started June 21 afternoon, because the agreement was that they will work afternoons only beginning at 3:30 PM (since they are working on some project in the mornings) and full days one weekend, to finish the project on time. That was fine. On the 1st day - demolition day - they came at 3:30; thereafter, they came without regularity: sometimes 4pm, 5:30pm, 6pm, 8pm - always with an excuse like having been called to service an emergency, etc. The project was finally completed on July 1st - or so we thought! Since they do not install the shower glass door - we called in another contractor - who pointed out that the barrier (between the shower floor and the bathroom floor) was not level and needed to be repaired before the glass doors could be installed. Plus, the caulking was poorly done and needed repair as well. We called the handyman assigned to us who said he will fix it one night. Indeed, he came at 10PM!!!! Who works at 10PM??? We accommodated the handyman just so we can get this project over and done with. It took 2 evenings to finally level a small piece of tile and improve the caulking. We thought we are finally done! The next day, we tested the shower handle they installed. IT CAME OFF, because the required screw was not put in place. Really??? We contacted the handyman assigned to us and he said he will fix the problem. TO THIS DAY, he never did. Never called/never sent any message that he can/cannot fix it for whatever reason. We had to buy a new set of shower handle to fix the problem. In fairness to the handyman assigned to us, he was not the one who did the tile nor installed the shower handle - but he was his hire, hence, his responsibility. As for the quality of the work - well, you get what you pay for! NOTE: If you wish to deal with this company because you like their estimate, just be forewarned that you will need TONS OF PATIENCE as your project will move along their timeline, not yours! POSTSCRIPT: Daniel who owns My Handyman Group replied: "This is a mistake. I never did for you any jod."
