Haircuts take around an hour, but coloring services can take over 3 hours and are hard to book. You can book haircuts kind of last minute but book coloring a month in advance if you can!

I paid $480 for my appointment and left with hair that looked patchy and not like what we had discussed. While disappointing results can sometimes happen, what bothered me most was the complete lack of communication afterward. I reached out to Masaki on May 13 regarding my concerns and attempted to resolve the issue privately. I never received a response. It has now been about a month, and despite giving plenty of time for a reply, I have been ignored. I did not immediately leave reviews or make public comments because I wanted to give him the opportunity to address the situation directly. Unfortunately, that opportunity was never taken. For $480, I expected a higher standard of work and customer service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Masaki.

It was 6 months since my last. That must have just not been the right thing to say bc I was judged, insulted during the entire session and I got the worst haircut of my life. I can't even get it fixed because it is so much shorter than I wanted. There are huge "texture" discrepancies all over my hair, the most obvious being in the back near my neck. There's also a strand of hair far longer than the entire length of my bob cut. I don't even understand how this happened. I'm so traumatized. I would never recommend this place and will never ever come back. I really had 1 chance to get a cut as a treat to myself, since I really don't have extra time to spare. And now I have to live with this until it grows out, definitely more than 6 more months. If I could give -1000 stars, I would. Please do yourself a favor and find a salon that can do a nice cut for long AND SHORT hair. WITHOUT A PERM TO MAKE IT ALL STRAIGHT FIRST. The skill level here is just so sub par. This really pissed me off because in the middle of my appointment, I even heard an assistant ask in Mandarin "is she getting a haircut?" and the stylist shook his head. I was really unhappy with my hair that I went to get a hair treatment (for the dry, damaged hair) and toner at a different salon a week later. That stylist even asked "who did your hair?"

They tested a strain on my hair and it turned out red, and said that I wouldn't be able to go ash blonde. Super grateful that they did a test but very sad that I was unable to do the color that I want. They did offer me to do like an ash brown, but that wasn't what I wanted unfortunately. I was a bit disappointed to see that it looked nothing like the picture and it was fake rose petals which I thought was weird. I'll give them an A for effort though although it looked nothing like the picture. The massage was amazing. She did a really great job. Most of my massages are pretty rough but she did a great job with light to medium pressure. I really liked the glass of champagne and the chocolate truffles. The private soak was nice but I really enjoyed the sauna. It was definitely a great experience. Came out feeling revitalized. My boyfriend really enjoyed the massage and the amenities.

I chose Once Upon a Bride because of the comfort level associated with a a salon that specializes in bridal hair and makeup; and the rave reviews passed along to me from my wedding planner's clients. I could not have made a better decision. During my trial, after just looking at a couple pictures and asking a few questions Stacey nailed the perfect hairstyle in record time. My hair looked a million times better than I had envisioned prior to my trial. Sofia's artistic touch made my makeup look glamorous and flawless, without making me look overdone. Exactly what I asked for! Just 2 weeks before the wedding, I had a hair emergency. Another salon put adhesive extensions in my hair that were supposed to last up to 3 months. After my first shower with the extensions (48 hours after they were put in) 3/4 of them fell out. The rest of them formed a sticky rats nest in my head. My wedding planner called Stacey who immediately stepped in to my rescue. She assured me I could come to the salon as soon as my schedule allowed and it would all be taken care of. Kaylene was an angel when it came to comforting me and removing the remaining extensions without damaging my hair. Once the disaster was averted, Stacey and Kaylene helped me to figure out the best way to apply extensions for my wedding. I ended up having them braided in at OUAB and I couldn't be happier. Another benefit of choosing OUAB was their referral to Morgan from PrimpDaddy.com who rents a space in the salon. Morgan is an aesthetic genius who expertly applied eyelash extensions to my mother, myself and my maid of honor. We are all so thrilled with the results we can't imagine not maintaining them after the wedding. With Morgan's eyelashes we just roll out of bed, refrain from applying a drop of make up and feel gorgeous. So my wedding is in 3 days I cannot be happier that I have chosen OUAB for my hair, makeup and eyelashes because I know that I am in great hands. I can't recommend Once Upon a Bride enough! My best friend/maid of honor used these services for her wedding in October 2004, and I was struck by how beautiful her hair and make-up looked at her event, along with the professionalism of the staff who styled her. I kept Once Upon a Bride in mind when it came time for my own event, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results thus far. First of all, Stacey was prompt and informative in answering all questions, either via phone or email, which goes far in alleviating pre-wedding day stress. Angela, the hair stylist with whom I was paired at my hair trial, understood the look I was going for right away: I brought in a few pictures that appealed to me, and she was able to replicate it exactly. However, before deciding upon the style, she encouraged me to try out a few similar yet distinct looks just to make sure that I was confident in my choice--and when I decided that my initial choice was the final one, Angela not only made my hair look beautiful, but it felt natural and comfortable. When it came time for my make-up trial, Jonny sat down with me and discussed the look that I was going for, and he created a beautiful and classic look for me. However, when both my fiance and father felt that the look wasn't "me" enough. Jonny and I met for another trial, where he was able to tweak the look that I desired to suit everyone's needs. I am not really the type to write a review... not because I don't appreciate good service or because I'm afraid to speak out about bad service, but because I am just too darn busy! Well, I just simply HAD to find the time to write this review about Stacey Weinstein at Once Upon a Bride. It's been just shy of a year since my wedding day. We FINALLY just got our wedding album. When my husband and I looked at the pictures, we both looked at each other and commented about how AMAZING my hair looked! Seriously, my hair has never looked better in my life! Stacey and her team made me feel beautiful inside and out! We were laughing about how awful the day started out. It was raining. My step mom was being her typical high maintenance self, my maid of honor got into a fight with her boy friend (the best man) and my wedding coordinator was a total B! Thank goodness for Stacey! She calmed me down, and everyone else for that matter. She took control of the room and in the way only she can, smoothed out all the rough spots that threatened to ruin my special day. I got married on the East End of Long Island in 2008 - after some seriously scary trials with the local "talent", a work friend recommended I try Once Upon a Bride. Stacey worked with me to come up with a gorgeous hairstyle that wasn't fussy and went beautifully with my dress and veil - I have gone to her for haircuts and Loren for color ever since. On my wedding day, her stylists made my bridesmaids and mother look gorgeous, and I was so happy with my hair and makeup - I really wanted to look "natural" and they listened to me - I did not have heavy, overdone makeup that other stylists I had done trials with tended towards. My hairstyle was a side pony with an orchid and the stylist had one chance to put the flower in right - no problem. It stayed the whole night, and looked great in pictures. The services aren't cheap, but they are worth it, and in the grand scheme of what you spend on various aspects of your wedding, I felt very comfortable spending money on the best hair and makeup artists to make sure I felt and looked gorgeous. It all started about 8 years ago...Stacey used to cut my hair, as well as my mothers. We thought so highly of her that for my cousins bridal shower (I was the maid of honor) we gave my cousin the gift of Once Upon A Bride hair and makeup services for her wedding day. She was beyond thrilled and looked so beautiful. Now, its my turn and I couldn't think of a better person/salon to use for my own wedding hair and makeup. I was very excited/nervous for my trial. When I got there, I started on makeup with Sofia. I explained what I was thinking and she gave me exactly what I wanted, only a million times better. I loved everything she did, but also felt really comfortable telling her if I wanted something changed or added. Then it was time for hair. I had a great time trying out different styles with Stacey. She played around with tons of different ideas, which led to the style I liked the most (and was something I hadn't thought of before hand). Planning a wedding, you realize that you get what you pay for and while you have to commit to spending some money to use OUAB, it is 100% worth it. Where do I begin? You can't go wrong with Once Upon a Bride! I had a hair and makeup trial with Stefanie and Sofia a few months ago and I was so pleased with how it turned out. After three horrible makeup trials, I was worried that I wouldn't find anyone who would be able to achieve the softer/natural look that I wanted, but Sofia listened to what I had to say and mastered it perfectly. I was also impressed with how quickly Stefanie was able to style my hair. She was able to recreate hairstyles from the photos I showed her in half the time some of the other stylists I've tried were able to, yet still put a lot of thought and careful attention into her work. They were both down to earth and personable and were able to give thoughtful feedback on the looks they thought were best for me, while still paying attention to what I wanted. Setting up the hair and makeup trial and booking the girls for my wedding day was simple too. OUAB has great customer service, and Stacey Weinstein, the owner was great during the booking process and promptly returned my calls and emails. I would recommend OUAB to any bride-to-be! read more

Stacey did an incredible job for me on my wedding day. She made me look and feel like a movie star. My hair looked EXACTLY the way I wanted it to look, after having a relaxing hair trial with Stacey to come up with the style for that day. Stacey and her makeups artist came out to Westchester for my morning wedding--arrived ontime and were ready to go. Extremely professional. Stacey was there to do my hair and my maid of honor's hair, but she graciously helped out with our little flower girl (even trimming her bangs a bit). If you want to be able to sit back on your wedding day and not have a BIT of worry about how your hair is going to look and have a true professional just come in and completely focus and take care of YOU on your wedding day--Once Upon A Bride is the way to go. I would never (and have never) been happy with any other stylist ever since I met Stacey and had her cut my hair for the first time over 13 years ago. She is the Absolute BEST. One thing I have not worried ONE SECOND about is hair and makeup because I am so confident with OUAB. Coming from a disaster of a trial with another company, I met Stacey and I was instantly at ease. She was available through phone and email and when I walked into the salon like a nervous bride she was calm, cool and extremely friendly. Stacey Weinstein is the BEST in the world. She is a true professional when it comes to hair; she is someone who really "gets it." I never before had my hair "done" because I don't like the look of hair that is overly styled and definitely did not want to look like I was headed to prom on my wedding day. Stacey has been doing my hair for nearly 20 years. There is no other person I would trust more with doing an amazing job on my hair. She is seriously one of the most talented artists I know. She has unbelievable vision and a gift for sculpting hair into the most amazing styles for each Individual person. Let's face it - I like to get my makeup done, but want it to be perfect and I'm not an easy client. I remember the first time Nichole Zuravleff did even my eyebrows, they were perfect, not too big, not too dark. I then stalked her to get her to do my make up - one of the best moves I have done. PERFECT - i looked in the mirror and while I still looked like me - the makeup was flawless, the application was easy, she listened, asked questions and I have never had anyone be able to replicate it. Her wedding make up is the best - again she listens to the client to get what they want and she takes her skills and experience to the mix to give the client the best. I have been a Stacey devotee from the time I first met her, over 15 years ago! I had been to so many different stylists before her, hoping to find someone who knew how to deal with my curly hair. Nobody really did, and it was one mediocre haircut after the next. Until Stacey -- she just intuitively knew what to do. I was -- and continue to be -- so impressed with the way she can so easily develop a vision on how to cut and style any kind of hair. She's truly an artist. They were on time, professional, and worked on my hair and makeup all morning while also helping out the rest of the bridal party. The experience itself was great. I'm a simple girl and into low maintenance. At one time in my life that meant the most basic of makeup and choosing comfort over something that actually looked good on me. About two years ago, I met Nichole Zuravleff and was always caught staring at her eyemakeup or wondering if I could ever pull off the fun and edgy style she seemed to walk so naturally in. I've not been a client of hers at Once Upon A Bride, but I will say that she's gifted in finding a woman's most flattering and angle - the one that comes most natural. Attitude, attitude and other unprofessional stuff is what Stacey the owner is all about. Stress was added to the mix rather than making this a wonderful experience both before the day and the day of. Her hair and make-up designers are actually wonderful and did a great job in the end. But...the rush of doing too many in the bridal party in too short a time period put a lot of stress on the bride and everyone else and at THESE PRICES YET!!! Without her and the stress she put us under it would have been perfect. I used Once Upon a Bride for my hair and make up for my wedding last March. Stefanie was my hair stylist and Janet was my make up artist. They were both amazing! By the time they were done with me I had never looked better. Plus they took a lot of time with the members of my bridal party and made sure everyone was happy with the way they looked (and they all looked great). Both girls were with us all day and they were fun and friendly -- no attitude at all. They are pricey but it's worth it to be in such good hands. My fiancee Nancy's stylist backed out on her last minute for our wedding. She had a really hard time finding a good stylist until she went to Once Upon A Bride. Her phone conversation with Stacey was extremely helpful - Stacey went out of her way to accomodate our busy work schedules, managing to schedule a trial for her within 2 days. The stylist she trialed with, Angela, was great also. She was personable, understood what Nancy wanted right away, and tried 2 beautiflu hairstyles on her. We're relieved that we found someone that we're comfortable with, and Nancy can stop making jokes about having to wear a ponytail down the aisle on our big day! read more

Amazing, professional, friendly, reliable and impressively chic team! I had my bridal hair and makeup trial with Sophia and Tiffany, who did an updo and makeup for my upcoming wedding. Stacey greeted me with champagne when I walked in, and the trial was a really fun evening. I am usually wary of getting my hair and makeup done, but Tiffany and Sophia were incredibly responsive to what I wanted, and created a beautiful look. Stacey did my hair and Moani did my makeup for my wedding day...I loved both! Stacey was very accessible via email during the process from booking a trial up until the wedding day, answering all my questions, etc. I am very neurotic about people touching my hair and going to new stylists, and Stacey really put me at ease. She also cut my hair prior to the wedding and I loved the cut! Moani is such a sweetheart and I loved how she did my makeup both at the trial and the day of. OUAB was excellent, right on time, hyper responsive and treated the wedding day as important to themselves as it was to me. I had Destiney for hair and Alicia for makeup. Destiney accomplished two amazing looks and was very helpful for all of the girls throughout the entire day. She pulled off exactly the vision to a T and was a joy to work with. Alicia provided me with the best makeup I've ever had. She enhances your natural look without changing you and gives you absolutely flawless skin. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!! A few things went on here. I went here to get my hair done for my…read morewedding. Firstly, the so called professional colorist was very nasty with a rude demeanor. After she had turned my hair orange, she was not kind or empathetic at all, just gave me a look to kill. As I was visibly upset as this was for my wedding day, the stylist stated they didn't want to "say anything" so they don't get stressed out. I was appalled. I had wefts put in my hair, a form of extensions that started to fall out right before my wedding. I spent about $950 for everything only to spend another $600 to go to another salon to get all fixed prior to my wedding day. The other salon was so understanding. Also, one of the stylists charged me $500 and only charged the salon $300, pocketing the remaining $200. This I also felt was shady. Prior to my wedding I had also just lost my mom and 18 year old cousin to cancer and I was going through a very rough time. When I wrote a review on google because I would never want anyone to experience this type of treatment. Aside from terrible service for the price, the lack of kindness is uncalled for. So I spread the word because my belief is to treat others how you wish to be treated. When I spoke to the manager, she dismissed everything and promised a refund if I took the review down as it was harming their glorious reputation...and I was literally harassed to do this throughout my workday. If I took it down I would be refunded. I asked for the refund first as I did not trust these people. No response. They harassed me consistently and refused to acknowledge my concerns or provide the refund. Then I see that they edited the review on put on google. So I put it back on. Very sneaky demeaning people. So please go to a salon that will respect you as the consumer, not exhibit ridicule and disdain and that truly care about your well being. This salon is indeed the polar opposite. When I posted this review, the owner was verbally aggressive to me she lied, saying that she gave me a full refund, that the staff hugged me about the loss of my mom and which they never did anything of the sort. She then posted on Facebook that I was crazy with a hashtag #Christinacraycray for people to get a discount on my behalf. So that shows you what type of people that you're dealing with no one should ever retreat another human being that way. I have an open case small claims get my money back from these disgraceful people. If you'd like your hair to look like the photo attached, and be disrespected all means go to this salon. See attached photos of my hair and a letter from the salon who fixed my hair prior to my wedding noting how it was done terribly requiring much correction.
