The cups that were sewn in were two sizes too small, causing my bust to bulge out of the dress. The underwire cut into my chest, pushing one breast to the right and the other upward. With every fitting, the situation got worse rather than better -- leaving me in tears with my wedding only a week away. I ultimately had to take the dress to another seamstress just to salvage it. To make matters worse, after three fittings, they had not even completed a hem. Wedding Atelier charged $1,300 for alterations -- payment required at the time of purchase -- and refused to refund a single dollar despite the damage they caused. The owner, Carrie, was completely unsympathetic and unwilling to take any accountability for what happened. She is unethical,. If you want to protect yourself from unnecessary heartache and stress in the lead-up to your wedding day, I strongly urge you to take your business elsewhere.

I'm disappointed in my experience here…read more First the dressing rooms are tiny and I was literally handed big dresses to then get into myself... like me and the stylist in a tiny cramped room and me trying to out on a ball gown by myself with no help? So random. They also didn't let me look around at first. They pulled dresses I didn't like and didn't offer to let me do that until after 15-20 minutes. And mind you it's $75 for an appointment.

The fitting "area" didn't have a mirror so note it's more challenging to closely inspect the dress on your own. Definitely overpriced for very limited selection, which lacked variety. Was surprised that samples were often only priced maybe $500 off the "original price" (questionable if the listed original prices were even accurate, seems inflated, so hardly any cost savings). Many of the dresses were barely more than 20% off, most lower. They do have a small selection (1 rack) of plus sized dresses, although I didn't look through them but something to consider if you fall into that size range. Most of the dress sizes in bridal sizes 8-12, which had several racks. Hastily purchased a gown that I do regret. Note their policy of final sale, no exchanges. They do not take walk ins, but I called day of and received a same day appointment. I guess if you're desperate for a last minute dress with not many options, this places fills a role as you may find something to settle on. Apparently they have independent tailors they work with in store who they claim can quickly do last minute alterations as well but I cannot speak to the quality of said work and I see reviews questioning the quality. I also noticed they handle sales tax in an unusual way, which others may want to be aware of. Wouldn't say this is worth including in your journey to finding a gown in NYC unless you've run out of options.

There is a huge variety of styles, designers, and options, which is great if you want to try on a wide range of dresses in one appointment. That said, the overall experience felt much less personal than some of the other bridal salons I visited in New York City. It felt a bit like a factory of brides, with a giant room where many brides are trying on dresses at the same time. The mirrors were also surprisingly small and free-standing, and I felt very close up to them, which made it hard to really see myself clearly in the dresses. I also would have liked to step off the podium more to see how the dresses looked naturally, but my stylist seemed to prefer that I stay on it (and of course dresses tend to look better when you're elevated on a podium). The selection is definitely a major strength, and I understand why Kleinfeld is so well known. However, there are other bridal salons in New York City that feel much more personalized, spacious, non-judgmental, and relaxed. I also noticed that some of the stylists standing around elsewhere came across as judgmental, which took away from the overall atmosphere a bit. Overall, I'm still giving 5 stars because of the dress variety and the iconic experience, but I would say brides should go in knowing that it may feel less intimate and personalized than other boutiques in the city. I went on a weekday to avoid paying for the experience. I'd recommend others do the same, as I don't think the fee is worth it. My stylist also was the least knowledgable about dresses compared to other salons.

I booked an appointment for 5 Pm on a Friday, and from the moment I walked in, I was so impressed by the space. It is extremely large, clean, and beautifully decorated. They have two completely separate, huge rooms, so you are in total privacy from any other bride, which made the appointment feel really personal and calm. It was by far the largest room I had been in at any bridal salon in New York City. The guest area was also beautiful, with a large, gorgeous couch, and the actual fitting room was huge (definitely the most space I had anywhere while trying on dresses). My stylist was Sylvia, and she was absolutely amazing. She knew the dresses inside and out, answered all of my questions immediately, and seemed to know exactly which dresses I would want to try on. She was extremely personable and gave the perfect amount of space for me to figure out what I liked about each dress, while also offering helpful suggestions and options for what could be changed. I ended up wanting to personalize a dress with detachable sleeves and a non-sparkle lace, and Sylvia knew all of the customization options perfectly. She showed me exactly what the changes could look like and even brought out the identical lace without sparkles so I could really visualize it. She was so patient with me and handled everything perfectly, offering suggestions without ever being overbearing or pushy. She let me walk around in the dress, sit down, and do various poses. I really love many of their dresses as they have the corset back, making them so secure and giving breathability. They have so many incredible dresses with different styles, so it truly is a great place to find a dress. I later came back for a "say yes" appointment with some of my bridesmaids as I was between two dresses, and unfortunately Sylvia wasn't there. However, Hafsa was there and was just as wonderful. She answered so many questions I had about the boning, personalization, timeline, bustle, etc. I ended up saying yes to the dress, and the team was very patient while answering all of my questions about shipping, timing, alterations, etc and letting me read through the entire contract. I had seen some reviews mentioning concerns about the post-purchase experience, so I was a little nervous after purchasing, especially because I had questions about the sleeves and customized lace. However, when I emailed them, they responded very quickly and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I'm happy to update this review as the process continues, but so far WONA has been incredible! The space, the dresses, the privacy, the customization options, and most of all the stylists made this such a special and positive experience!

The consultant we had to assigned to us had zero suggestions and had no interest in assisting us or making the sale. The dresses were very, very dirty. We paid to see the dresses from the trunk show, the shop was not interested in showing us dresses from the trunk show. The consultant pinned the dresses (instead of clipped) which meant they did not stay in and hurt the bride to be. We were not even offered water, this is NYC in mid summer. We tried three dresses and we could not get out faster and get a drink to recover from this experience. We had this as our last venue because we thought this would be where we bought. We had a sizable budget but will buy from Danielle Frankel or Mark Ingram, they seemed to understand the bridal experience.

After taking a quick look at me, he immediately pulled the Isabella dress, and said I had to try it on. Though I had sworn off strapless dresses, his confidence and conviction made me excited to give the dress a try. It was the first dress I tried on there, and when I looked in the mirror I could barely believe my eyes. I had never felt more beautiful. I felt like a classic Hollywood actress who belonged on the red carpet. I tried on more dresses. Though each of them impressed me, none cast the same spell as Isabella. Every girl deserves to have her moment- when the entire world stops and all eyes are on her. Nathan gives you that moment. He makes you feel like the star you truly are. Of course, none of this would be possible without Leanne Marshall's vision. I have since tried on other dresses I hoped would compare to hers, but no one else makes them the way she does. She understands what is most flattering on a woman's body, and it's the subtle but very important details she pays attention to that make a world of difference. However, to see them all (and trust me, you WANT to see them all), set up an appointment (required) to visit her NYC showroom. Each flowing, ethereal gown is more beautiful than the last. And the prices are absolutely fair! I initially worked with Angela, who was friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic from the get go. I loved so many of the dresses that it was hard to decide which one to purchase. She was flexible in allowing me to come back in for a second appointment to try on my favorites once more before choosing THE ONE. The showroom is small so you will be the only client there, which makes the experience relaxed and personal. At no point did I feel pressured to buy. After making the final decision, Angela was professional in helping me understand the contract and taking my measurements. My emails were always answered quickly and all communication was easy and pleasant. Shockingly, the dress was finished a week earlier than expected and took only 4 months total! I picked it up today and it is just the most beautiful piece of work. Whitney was very helpful and attentive in completing the sale. I feel beyond lucky to have found Leanne Marshall and to own one of her creations. Pictures to come at a later date :) Brides, do yourself a favor and visit Leanne Marshall Bridal! Just had my hair done by Amy Gerber yesterday for the first time. She did an excellent job on my thin fine hair. Not an easy job! First, my color is lovely - exactly the hair color I had as a kid and no gray. She not only chose a good color (after consulting me) for the single process and the highlight colors, she has great application skills. She is a real technician. The cut is always my biggest worry - my hair is thin and very difficult to style. She was honest about what was possible and had a viable and hopeful long-term plan for growing out my nutty layers from past cuts. The end result was better than I had anticipated. She is an excellent stylist and colorist. In addition, her space is wonderful. I am usually not a salon fan and greet my appointments with dread. Her style space is in a gorgeous pre-war apt. space and is so relaxed and pleasant. Amy's energy is low-key (which I so like) and friendly. I will surely go back. Great experience! read more

Amy Gerber has been my stylist for the past few years. When I first moved to New York, I was so nervous about finding a good stylist that I could afford. Amy is beyond good....she is amazing. She is also very reasonably priced, especially for Manhattan. The atmosphere in Amy's salon is very warm and welcoming. Amy herself is a joy to be around. She is caring, personable, witty, and brilliant. When it comes to hair, Amy is truly a visionary and an artist in what she creates. Her passion for her craft shines through in how fabulous she makes her clients look and feel. I have seen Amy every 6 to 8 weeks for cut and color. During our years, I have gone from long hair to very short and back to long again. I have also changed my hair color a number of times. Thank you, Amy, for a great experience that has inspired the first review I've ever written for any professional service. Amy is reliable and accommodating, warm yet professional, efficient yet thorough. I had to cancel on Amy twice due to last-minute, work-related conflicts, and she ultimately scheduled me in for a much-needed cut literally 8 hours before I flew out to attend a wedding. As for the cut: I'm pretty active and constantly have my hair in a ponytail, not really into spending much time styling my hair. Amy asked what I wanted, ideally, and I jokingly said that the ideal cut would allow my hair to fall in an aesthetically pleasing way, after showering, with minimal to no care. ... Amy was ready on time to get started and arrived at my suite door as previously agreed via email. She was very quick and precis in putting up the girls in my wedding party and did a fabulous job on my hair too. I am one of those girls who is obsessed with hair. I always have been. I've highlighted, dyed, bleached and cut it into as many different styles as there are moods! Amy has been doing my hair for five years now. I am not the type of person who has an exact idea of how my hair should be styled, how long it should be, or even what color it should be. I leave everything up to Amy and she gets it right every time. Amy knows exactly what looks good on me and she knows I have no idea how to style my hair so it has to work and it has to be easy. Amy did my hair for my wedding also, and it was truly perfect. I could not articulate what I wanted, no surprise, but Amy gave it a shot and, also no surprise, it was exactly what I wanted. Amy is a genius! I have been going to her for over a year and a half now and I will never look back. I had found it difficult to find someone who could cut my short hair with any skill without paying $100 per hair cut...that is until I found Amy! She listens to my ideas and when I have none she comes up with some amazing idea on the spot. She crafts with such meticulous detail and thought. I moved to the US from Europe 11 years ago, and I used to always get haircuts when I went back to visit family, mainly because haircuts are so expensive here. But I tried out stylists here too - expensive ones and lower priced ones, and I was never completely happy, sometimes even very unhappy! Until I found Amy through a recommendation! I was so close to giving up, but then I met Ilona. She is incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful and cares about the health of her clients hair. I booked a color correction and she walked me through her plan, which was conservative to keep my hair healthy but also designed to give me something that would make me happy, and she really delivered. During our appointment she was so sweet and made great conversation in addition to making sure I knew where we were in the process. She has built trust with me in so many ways. Leaving the salon I felt so happy to have spent the day with Ilona. My hair has never looked better and I have never felt prettier. I can't wait to see her for touchups!

Mainly it's because of my hair stylist, Yelena. I've been following her for over 15 years because she's that good. She is super friendly and easy to work with and I leave the salon each time with a great cut and a smile. It's not that easy to cut curly hair, but Yelena is a pro and I travel from NJ just to see her. The salon is very large and you have plenty of room to be pampered. I highly recommend Yelena and Marie Robinson Salon.
