I don't think I will shop or sell anything else to this specific store because everything I go to sell something back and they give me a lame as to why certain items of mines won't sell. Awful. I've sold at multiple OUAC's and never had one offer as low as this store. They offered me not even 1/6 the price of retail on the BRAND NEW with tags items I brought in. Extremely rude workers when you ask for help or explanations. Not to mention, their sales are not fully disclosed online. Example - "fill a bag with onesies for $10!" You get there and it's only onesies 1.99 or less, no long sleeves and only ones marked "bodysuits" conveniently, that was left off all your their posts online. Everything is priced about what you would pay brand new from any retailer with sales. Save your energy and drive a little further to any other OUAC. read more

Went to buy pants for my son all used pants were around $10-15 each in his size 2T-3T.. really ridiculous cost for used pants, I will not be wasting my time to come here again, the prices are to high. I can buy NEW pants for that same price at the Childrens Place store and elsewhere. Unfriendly Service as well. read more

They recently expanded, and are still packed to the walls with great quality used, and some new, items. The stock is well organized, with fantastic prices. I shop here first for all clothes, toys, and equipment. They don't get five stars, because even though their stock is in perfect condition because they're so picky about what they buy, they're just not nice about the buying process. Consistently stingy on the buybacks. Wouldn't even buys back clothes I'd bought (wrong size) and bringing back.

The workers are rude. I took over 100 brand new high quality toys in to store to sell and they offered me less than $70 for all of it. That is not even an average of .50 cents an item and it was brand new. The original retail price for each item was as low as $9.99 and as high as $29.99. I was dumb struck but did not feel I could say no to the offferas she kept my stuff behind the counter and was rushing me out. She handed me back two empty large boxes and a small box that I had transported the stuff in, she would not even get rid of the boxes, made me take them home. $69 was a kick in the gut....wish I had asked for my stuff back. I brought the stuuf in under the guise that they would give me more money since the items were still in the celophane but then the girl argued with me that could not do that since it was not purchased from manufacturer. had to sell as gently used even though it was clearly brand new. Each time I sell there I swear to never go back because they rip you off, empty promises. DO NOT EVER SELL TO THEM...they are a rip off and rude doing it! read more

The store smells pretty bad and the people that work there are rude and unfriendly. I actually overheard them talking badly about customers! There are way better childrens resale stores in the Ann Arbor area and I would suggest those over this place. read more

I post this review as someone who recently "sold" clothes to OUAC. I had approximately 150 pieces of little girl clothes in good condition. I took them to OUAC and was told that, unlike the website that said that clothes would be looked over while you shopped, I would have to leave them there overnight and come back the next day to get their decision. OK. Inconvenient, but I can understand high volume. I came back the next day, and they had decided to accept approximately 30 items, and I received a grand total of $20 and some change. Not only do I get to lug back to my house most of what I brought there, but I would have made much better money taking the donation as a tax deduction (or selling stuff at a yard sale), which is what I'll do in the future. This was definitely a waste of my time. read more

I've been going to this store and Children's Orchard for years now. I always liked CO more, but since it closed, the differences are glaring. Today was the second time I went in for a sale and was told as I was being rung up that my items were not part of the sale. Both times I had asked an employee specifically about the sale while I was shopping that day and was not given the information I needed. I also sold them a very clean, top of the line baby swing. They only offered $30 for it and I had to put it together for them in the store. It didn't fit in my car assembled. Just a warning if you bring them big gear. I love resale stores, but I'm about to start selling online after all this. read more

The store has recently been reorganized, for the better, which is nice. I have bought and sold here multiple times, and remain unimpressed. I can only speak for the times I have been in the store, but every time I have been in, the service has been really poor. There is usually no one on the floor available to assist customers, as they are all congregated behind the front desk. When it is time to pay, even though there is a gaggle of employees 10 feet away from you behind the desk chatting and picking through bins, they will let you wait in line, "until." Until the one overwhelmed clerk can remove hangers, fetch unsold items , ring what is being purchased, answer questions, promote whatever promotion they have going on, key in the rewards info, & bag and tag whatever was just rung up. You wait forever to get out of there. The money that they give you, even for high-end, department store type brand names, is pitiful to say the least. You can do better at a mom to mom sale, online, or at your garage sale. When questioned, they defend their buying prices by trying to promote how inexpensive they resell it at. Just to be nosy, one time I returned the following day to find the items I had sold the day prior marked much higher than what I was told when selling (of course they were, they were in pristine condition, and high-end brands...) If you don't want to donate to charity, and are ok with just a few bucks for your items, then bring them here. The prices that they are reselling their items for are also becoming unreasonable (clearly, they have raised prices) Used items from Kohls, Justice, & Target, in "ok" condition, are marked at more than you could buy them on clearance in new condition at the store. The high end brands (Polo, Janie and Jack, etc) will have a very high price - go to goodwill, pick through, and save yourself some real money. Overall, after giving this place countless chances to change my mind, I give this place two thumbs down for both buyers and sellers read more

I have purchased a broken rocking chair while I was pregnant . It's a gently used store so I was happy to fix this chair myself for the discounted price. Went to sell some of my larger items (swing, exersaucer, stroller, play mat) to be told they had a small stain and or missing parts there for would not be able to buy them. I've skipped over several cloths items because they had stains or "too loved" as they like to label it. Didn't realize gently used really meant put together out of box to be then resold. Lost a customer who use to drove out of the way for this store because I though they had lots of great gently used things to sell! Their loss, I'll sell or purchase from real moms at mom to mom sales who are more than happy to sell great used items :) read more

This is one of the worst stores I have ever been to. It smelled bad, the staff was rude, and they gave away the remainder of the clothes they didn't want that I brought it WITHOUT my consent. I would encourage anyone looking to find used children's clothes and accessories to buy them somewhere else. eBay has much better quality than this store. read more

2 bad reviews from people trying to sell here... I haven't sold here so I can't rate that part of this store. As for buying, we had an excellent experience. By luck, we arrived on a day when they were having a progression sale and we got 70% off items marked with a certain color. So we got about $40 (marked price) worth of items for under $8! The have a huuuuge amount of items mostly clothing. Yes it's cramped and a bit hard to get around but the vast selection makes it worth it. read more

Favorite place to buy children's clothing. The store is well organized, clean and very baby friendly. Pricing is on point and there are often special deals on top of already low prices. Inventory is always fresh, I find new things every time I stop in which is sometimes twice in one week. The staff is what really makes this store 5 star. I have had the pleasure of interacting with most if not all and they just make it a relaxing place to shop. I completely disagree with negative reviews I've read, especially pertaining to selling clothes to them and have found it to be a positive experience. Most of the clothes I bring in are selected to buy and I'm always more than pleased with the amount offered. They offer 20% extra when you sell if you choose store credit, which is a bonus. To anyone selling I suggest only bringing in clothes that are in the condition you would want to purchase and to not be offended by any that they pass on. The convenience of receiving cash for clothing on the spot is great. Any clothing brought in that is not chosen to buy they will even donate for you so there's no need for any additional trip to a donation center. I recommend this store to anyone shopping for clothing, toys, baby equipment, books, even if you need a last minute kid's birthday present. They also have a great selection of maternity. read more

I have been coming to this location for 3 years now , i've had a bad experiance with the location in toledo, so i always come to this location, the staff is always friendly and helpful here, I sell items and usually always exchange them for new items, it's a great way to save money especially when kids grow so fast, many items are new still with tags on them, I would highly reccomend this store at this location, i've always had a great experiance buying and selling items here! read more

I'm a couple months late with this post but I'm still rubbed the wrong way when I think about my last experience here. I called asking if they had any toddler beds in stock, the women on the phone informed me they had two and that she'd put one on hold until I got there, as they sell fast. I informed I was pregnant and had a large sedan, worried about if it would fit, she told me they would take it apart for me and help carry it to my car if needed. Okay, everything sounds great. I made my way there, mind you this was shortly after they remodeled, and when I got there I was shocked. They place was like a mad house; kids running and screaming everywhere (which I know isnt the stores fault, I was just shocked) and stuff just laying everywhere. I informed the woman at the counter that I was there to pick up a toddler bed and she literally just stared at me like I was stupid and had. O idea what I was talking about. So, I repeated myself and she goes "ugh, idk hold on" and goes to ask one of the 15 other employees that were standing behind the counter talking. She comes back and tells me to hold on, her and another girl go get the bed off of a shelf and they walk it over to me and set it on the floor. It's a large wooden bed. I look at it and ask if someone could take it apart like I was told they would. With another attitude she started asking if anyone knew where the screwdriver was. While they do they, I ask another employee where the maternity section was, she wasn't sure so I went and found it myself. Came back to the counter after a few minutes and the bed was dissembles and the pieces were stacked up by the cashier. I paid for the bed and then started picking up one piece at a time to take to my car. With all of the employees standing there, not one asked if I needed help, obviously seeing I was very pregnant and it was raining. After everything was in my car I went back in to ask if they by chance had an mattresses for sale, she said no, so I asked what kind of mattress to used to be sure considering this bed did not look like your average toddler bed but I'd never had to buy one before so I didn't know. The attitude woman said "a twin or toddler mattress". Confused I said okay as those are two completely different sizes and you supposedly sold me a toddler bed. But I said okay and left. I get home and assemble the bed, take some measurements and after googling the different sizes I realize a twin size nor a toddler size mattress fits this bed. I actually couldn't find ANYTHING online with the measurements of this bed. I also realize this bed needs slates that were sold with it. After a few days of researching and not finding anything at all to explain what kind of bed this is I call Once Upon a Child back to ask if I can return it. I explained everything and how they told me they were sending me a toddler bed when this was not a toddler bed. She refused to refund me because of their "policy". She informed me I could sell it back to them "but you won't get nearly as much as you paid for it" So I'm extremely irritated and upset at this point. I go back to the bed and look for a sticker anywhere to see where the bed might be from. Underneath I find one from Ikea with the name of the bed so I call them. THANK GOODNESS they still sold the mattress for this bed but it was in fact a special made one and for a grown child, not a toddler. The mattress of course cost more than I paid for the bed but I was happy to finally had found one. read more

I used to love this store. I have been a customer of theirs ever since they were further down the road on Washtenaw. As of today, I will no longer shop there because of their treatment of me. Today was their 90% off clearance items so they were the busiest I have ever seen them! It was extremely packed. I was there finding things for my daughters and son. I was trying to find a pair of rain boots for my 1 1/2 year old son. There was a tag on them that prevented me from trying them on him so my daughter took them to the front desk so they could remove it. Now, if you have bought rain boots before then you know that most of them have straps on the top that you use to pull them up onto your child's feet. I was sliding the boot on and used the strap on one of the boots and it broke. So obviously, I am not going to purchase them. They were not of a good quality because the strap that is intended to be pulled on, broke, using it for its intended purpose. So I had my daughter return the boots to the front desk so they could reattach the tag. I thought, no problem. I then waited in line for at least 45 minutes, because as I said, this was the busiest I had ever seen them. The line was from the front desk all the way to the back of the store. So I get up to the desk to pay for my purchases, and I'm asked if my daughter was my daughter (as she was the one who brought the boots to and from the desk). I said yes, and then I was told that since I broke the boot, that I needed to purchase them. I explained that I was not buying a broken boot, as it broke through no fault of mine. I used the strap as intended, to try them on my son because I obviously need to try them on him before I purchase them. The manager didn't know what to say, so she just repeated herself so I repeated myself. I was not buying a broken boot that was obviously bad quality. She then told me that every store has the "break it and buy it" policy. I of course, told her that that was not correct. I'm sorry, but if I were at Meijer, Walmart, Target, etc and I was trying an article of clothing/shoes on and it broke, there is absolutely no way that I would be forced to purchase something broken. So then the manager calls the owner, the owner says that she will give them to me for 50% off. I refused. Why would I want to purchase something that broke through no fault of my own and that bad of quality? At that point they threatened to call the police on me. I told them to go ahead. It's quite laughable really, except that I have been a very long time customer with them, have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars there, and yet I was treated like a damn criminal! The other customers that were waiting in line looked embarrassed and sympathetic to my situation. This store also knows or should know, there is no law of "you break it, you buy it". There may be store policies that attempt that but that depends on the negligence of the customer. Using a strap that is intended to be pulled on, to get the boot on the child's foot, and the resulting breaking of the strap, is in NO way negligent. The store employee even went so far as to follow me to my car and take a picture of my license plate. I still cannot believe they called the police on me! Over an $8 pair of rain boots! read more

What a complete waste of time! If I could I would have given a half star rating. I had been to the Battle Creek store and had decent luck with selling items and getting a fair price for them. I visited this store today with 2 bins of children's clothing and 1 bin of maternity clothes. My clothes were all freshly laundered, free of stains and meticulously organized into type of item and season. I dropped off the bins at 10:50 and was told that it would likely be the next day before they could go through them but that I could call later in the day to see if they were done. I took my family out for the day as we had traveled an hour to get to the store. I called at 3:30 and they were already done. I was thrilled, until I got back and saw what they wanted to keep and what they were willing to give me. They offered me $100 for 2 full bins of clothes. Amongst them were 8 pairs of name brand maternity pants in practically perfect condition. When I asked what they were offering for the pants the sales girl told me between $2.30 and $2.75. I was appalled, these were all Gap, Old Navy and Motherhood Mmaternity. Typically $40-$60 retail. She then told me that they only sell them for $5 in the store. While I was browsing the store I saw that most of the boys pants in 24month size were $7 so I am quite certain that she was lying. Do not waste your time selling to this store! You are much better off going to the Battle Creek store or a Mom 2 Mom sale. read more
