I used to go here often, to sell and buy things. I went today for the first time in about 4-5 years and I'm not impressed. I brought things to sell this time as my kids have grown out of things. Some items were BRAND NEW/NEVER USED and they returned them to me saying they're too worn out or stained when I literally took the tags off this morning to bring em to Dover. Then I was paid with a check when everything is advertised as CASH FOR YOUR THINGS. Why was I given a check? I won't be back. Staff was quick to greet me but very dismissive when I asked about the returns. Was not worth the trip. Better off just donating things and getting a tax slip it you truly need the money back. read more

I used to go here all the time and have supported this business a lot but after today will never be back. We were at a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese and my son had an accident so I ran over here just 10 minutes before they opened and the manager refused to sell me a freaking pair of pants for my 3 year old because "the cash registers don't open until 11". I even had cash and she still refused. Like can't you take off the tag and scan it in 10 minutes when your cash register opens. Not rocket science. So the staff is rude and I've always known but ignored it but this was the final straw. This careless, heartless woman and the staff have probably never had children and that's probably a good thing because the world has enough rude people. read more

I found tons of great, clean, and classy name-brand dresses and outfits at very reasonable consignment prices. I happened to go during a red-tag $1 clearance event and found some good pieces that way, too. The toy area was a mess and many toys were dirty. The staff were busy the whole time but seemed attentive to customers' needs. I never seem to have enough time at the OUAC stores I visit around the country. Once upon a child is the worst. Staff is rude and just plain not friendly. They reject beautiful clothes with tags that are Carters, they low ball everything to the point it's insulting and I rather give it away then help them make money. Horrible company!!!! read more

Never went to the Dover Location until today. We just moved and had all of our old non fitting baby clothes in bins so I remembered at the pike creek location I went to they told me to just use bags because they didn't have a lot of room: here they want them in bins?! But thank god because I am OCD with making sure the outfits are as one . They accepted them as bags today which I was grateful for! I had 5 huge bags of clothes so I will get a call in a couple hours post more when I see end results read more

Me, my mother and little sister were in the store on August 31 and was not happy with the staff or the appearance on the store. Walked in and no one said anything to anyone in the store, while checking no one spoke to us or the people next to us. They had given us a couple dirty looks and the people next to us where checking out with a toy their daughter was excited about and the cashier was making negative comments about the toy she had wanted. read more

Ladies, beware of bad attitudes from staff. I have gone a few times to this place and have been very nice to the staff but every time they are very rude. Especially the Cashier. I just can't stand businesses that have rude staff. In this economy everyone is trying to find jobs, they should be able to find nicer employees. Also FYI, the prices that they offer are 30% of what they can sell it for. So I recommend waiting for local resales where you receive 70-80%. read more

This store was dirty, so packed full of stuff that you can't even walk through the aisles, and most of what they have is so worn looking and for the price you can go to the Rehoboth Beach Outlets and buy brand new name brand items for the same price. The staff were very unfriendly, I wouldn't say they were flat out rude to me but they were definitely not nice. They take hours to go through your stuff and while I was there I saw that they girls were always on their cell phones, so that's probably why it takes so long. Also, they don't give you a lot for your items but their prices in the store are so high. Why am I going to pay like 4.50 a piece for little infant clothes when I can go to the outlets and buy BRAND NEW stuff for LESS MONEY. Makes no sense. Went to the Dover location for the first time and it was absolutely horrible. The staff complained about black trash bags said she wouldn't touch it. The young lady at the front was very nasty and rude the way she talked to me. As a owner I would never have someone so rude represent or be the face of my company. Her facial expressions gave me the impression that she was disgusted. If you don't like your job find a new one. What these people fail to realize is without us there is no them I would try hiring a more friendly staff otherwise you'll find yourself losing customers. This place was ridiculous. The staff was horrible and rude. I took a large amount of clothes on a Sunday afternoon. The girl basically told me it was too much work for them to go through even though they had 3 hours before they closed. I came back an hour later, they barely accepted any clothes. I was shocked, I know people can be picky , but I had several items that were in great condition that they didn't bother to accept. The staff tells you to bring your clothes neatly folded and together. When they were done sorting all the clothes were a mess. It took me a whole afternoon to sort by size, season & fold neatly. It only took them an hour to create a disaster worth of clothes 0-18 months. I can't believe the way the staff treated customers. Several people, as they were leaving, were complaining about the service. I will never go back to that store or any other location. read more

Avoid this business at all costs. I had never been here before so I called before coming. I told the lady on the phone I had never been, asked what their procedure was for bringing in baby/kid items and they said it's first come first serve, and that they go through everything while you wait, no limit on how much you bring in, and pay you on the spot. I said, ok, well I have an entire truck full of bins to bring in-is that ok, no appt needed? They said, nope, just first come first serve so if someone is in front of you, you will have to wait. Ok, sounds good....fastforward to when I took my items in a couple of days later--I literally load up about 15 bins worth of baby and kid gear, drive 45 mins to the store, go inside and tell them I have a bunch to bring in, where do I park, etc--they said just pull up to the curb--so while I unload the entire truck myself--nevermind that there are 3 of them standing behind the counter chit-chatting, not working, I open the door each time carrying loads of stuff in and stacking it for them behind their counter (they literally didn't lift a finger or even try to hold the door/prop it open for me)--after I get all 15 bins inside, they give me a form to fill out and proceed to tell me ALLLLLLL the things that they do not accept! Then they tell me they don't like to take clothing over 2 yrs old because they try to stay current with the trends. This is literally a 2nd hand shop--if I'm bringing in 15 bins of items, do you really think everything is within 2 yrs old and maybe when I called and asked these questions they could have told me this. Nope!! Then they proceed to get snippy with me that this is going to take a long time to go through (let me remind you how they literally stood and sat behind the counter doing absolutely nothing while I brought these in)--So I respond okay, no worries, how long do you think this will take-I can run next door to the mall and come back --she says it will be more than 2-3 hours because I brought in so much stuff and then tells me that if people bring in stuff in between they are going to go through their stuff in between mine again because I brought in so much stuff. I said um, you told me when I called this was first come first serve--again the staff gets extremely rude with me, shaking her head and telling me that I brought in so much that it's not fair to the other customers to make them wait--oh, okay but it's okay to make me wait!? I didn't have 3+ hours to wait for my stuff so I said can I come back tomorrow and pick up whatever you don't want to buy. She again gets nasty with me telling me no way-I have to pick everything up by 8pm tonight and that's final. Throughout this entire process, I was treated literally like a piece of crap--they don't care at all about customer service, the work ethic here is ridiculous, and on top of it to be down right rude and confrontational with a customer is just beyond me. I have never in my life been talked to in such a nasty fashion as I have from the staff at this 2nd hand shop. They screwed up my entire day--I had to drive back and forth 4 times to this place (45 mins each way) and they bought roughly 4 bins of items---I want to point out again that I called ahead of time and asked these questions. They simply don't care--it's still somehow my fault that no one told me their policies, and they got pissed off that I brought in a bunch of items. I'm so sorry you ladies had to do your job. I'm so sorry that I interfered with your down time to sit on your butt and text on your cell phones while you were working and I'm so sorry that my Baby Gap and other brand names clothes aren't good enough for your store!!! I will never ever be going back to this place & I will tell everyone I can that they are a horrible business!! The owner should be ashamed of themselves for running such a pathetic, rude institution!! It's sad that businesses get away with acting like this and treating people with such disrespect these days!! And the employees seriously could care less. It's sad, just sad---stay away from this place at all costs!!! Do yourself a favor--shop Kohl's when they are having sales or go to the Outlets! At least those employees are trained to have a tad more decency when you are shopping in their stores and you will find the same priced deals for NEW clothes! Horrible, Horrible Store!
