Lawd this was a very sub-par pedicure. I don't know if my nail tech was new or what but she was way too timid to really do much. That was the gentlest and fastest exfoliation ever. I doubt any rough skin was removed. No massage other than very gently rubbing in lotion, too timid to put the toe separators on so I had to do it myself after watching her struggle. No gloves used. The young woman put the polish on like I did when I was a teenage at a sleepover- no professional technique. Did not seem like a professionally trained nail tech....Polish looks the same as if I did it myself. The place looks great but the staff that were there didn't seem like professionals.....At least the pedicure was only $38 because I would feel kind of gypped if it was more than that. Even though $38 is still kind of a lot for a pretty low quality pedicure. read more

Horrible staff! They are rude as fuck! one of my coworkers told me it was a good place to get my nails done there. Worst mistake, as soon as I came in I asked for the person that she recommended who I believe is the manager/owner. I immediately said,"it's nice to meet you someone (coworker's name) told me you're the best in Chicago, he took it as an insult, I kept trying to explain to him that I heard he's the best but he was sooo grouchy! Then when it came to paining the nails he asked someone else to do it and that lady was rude too! I wanted a French tip with 5 colors and she yelled in my face,"YOU WANT FIVE COLORS OH MY GOD!" it was very obvious she was talking rudely about me to her coworkers, you don't need to understand the language when someone is talking smack about you. I don't usually leave reviews but I got a no chip manicure French tip not even 2 hours ago that has already came off. I appreciate that Aubrey is a trainee and is learning, but she missed several important steps during the process. She only buffed one hand, did not use foundation, my nails were uneven, and used so much top coat that it was pouring off my nails. She also had to redo the French tip 3 times. For $58, I was expecting this to last two weeks at least not 2 hours. Very disappointed. read more

We went to three different places looking for walk in mail appointments today and this was the first place we had success at. My mom and I got manicures and my sister got a pedicure. They all turned out beautifully! I will say the guy who did my nails made the polish a touch too thick and was pretty rough on my hands (twisting my thumb until it hurt a little, vigorously filing my actual finger instead of just my nail haha). Best nail experience ever. Visiting from Seattle and wanted a nail treat for me and my husband. Made same day reservation and had the gentlest and most relaxing experience. The technician there treated my tender foot and it's injury with great care. My husband said of his first pedicure that he would 100% do it again. Prices are completely reasonable and they go above and beyond for their clients. My tech (so sorry for not catching his name) took great care of my feet and hands and helped me get my socks and shoes back on. The 5-star was finalized at the very end when I nicked up the just finished thumb nail putting in my shoe and the tech immediately fixed it then redid it when it wasn't to his satisfaction. When I am in Chicago again I will make it a point to come back here. It was a wonderful experience and I encourage everyone visiting to get your nails treated here. read more

I went to One100 for a basic manicure. I mentioned pain in a toe due to a nail problem. The technician, Moonie, agreed to look at my nail. She felt she might be able to address the problem. As a result, I suggested a pedicure. She did an amazing job on my feet, working with sterilized tools. All of my pain, who I had been enduring for weeks, has disappeared! Mookne was extremely capable and confident. When asked, she told me she has taken continuing education classes regarding nail issues. But recently, I went to get my root touched up but asked for no bleach if possible, maybe just a root smudge or bump (I have blonde bleached hair), so she added color. At first it looked okay, but when I arrived home, my root was so orange :( And I think bleach was added because my hair felt tingly later on. I went to my usual salon a couple days later to fix it and she said whoever did my hair, really messed it up. It was so damaged. I was so disappointed, just so unfortunate. read more

I went back and forth on whether or not to give 4 or 5 stars. I recently had a wedding and came for a group mani/pedi session beforehand with some ladies from my wedding party (8 of us total). Some of us were late but they were very accommodating, though there was some waiting for those who were late. What we had expected to be 1.5 hour appointment total ended up being 3 hours, which was probably partly our fault given some of the ladies were late and wanted to do acrylic or gel. All the technicians (Maggie, Kim, Besi, Henry - special shoutout to Henry for incredible attention to detail working with one of my friends the whole time on a tough acrylic mani) were amazing and everyone loved their experience. They even gave us sparkling ciders for the session! I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars ultimately because it seemed like there was some poor communication between the person I was corresponding with for the event (Emma) and the one who ended up helping me with the payment (Lonnie). Pricing was slightly different, my small initial deposit wasn't applied, and a promised discount wasn't communicated ahead of time (but still applied). Ultimately the price differences weren't too much but it was hard to sort through all of that on my end and a bit more extra work than I would've liked. Overall, great experience at the salon! But some of the logistics of coordinating for the group session were difficult to maneuver. read more

I'm not one to write reviews but this needs to be said. Since the beginning of the year I have made a total of 5 appointments and not one of them has been met. Every time I arrive for my appointment they are surprised that an appointment has been made, then check the computer and say sorry it will be 30 min-1 hour wait. It's my fault for continuing to make appointments but they are close by so I decided to give them one last chance and scheduled an appointment for today. I arrived 5 minutes early to see the person I scheduled an appointment with in the middle of doing someone's nails. She told me it would be another 30 minutes and when I said I had an appointment, all she said was sorry. I do not recommend this place unless you are ok with waiting for an extended period of time even with an appointment made. read more

So recently I saw that a new salon opened up in front of my apartment building. I was in trade and my nails had to be done so I decided to drop in. Without making an appointment they were kind enough to sit me down for no chip right away. I enjoyed my service and it took about 35 to 40 minutes. The nail technician took great care of my nails and they even granted me a discount for being a first timer in their salon!! I was very pleased and I think I'll be coming back for sure!! Well....for starters this is my second time here and both times were ridiculously long just for a classic pedi and dip! took 2 1/2 hours my appointment was which I was on time for 12:30 I come to Chicago for work and only have a few hours before leaving back out sadly as a result of not only an over priced shop that clearly has unqualified techs working in i WILL NOT BE BACK! This is a great salon. Lonnie has been coloring and cutting my hair for about 2 years now and I can't imagine going to anyone else. He is very personable, friendly and pays close attention to detail. Love how he gets every hair just perfect. I always leave feeling very beautiful and refresh. A side note, they have the best shampoo chairs I have ever experienced and since I have neck problems it is delightful. My nails look like camel humps and are so thick that a jack hammer won't even get them off. And the tech was intrusive asking waaaaaaay too many personal questions. TL;DR: THEY DON'T DO LASHES. I booked an appointment online to get a mani/pedi and a lash extension. I live kinda far away, but was looking specifically for a place that could do all three. They don't do lashes here. They said they haven't had a lash person there in over a year. The worst part is that I wouldn't have found out until the end, had I not said something like half an hour in. And on top of that, my appointment was 35 minutes late. It was frustrating. I drove half an hour away, waited another half hour + for it to start, then found out I couldn't even get done what I'd driven all the way out there for. I could have gotten a mani/pedi in my neighborhood. It takes a lot for me to say something, but I figured it would be better to say something in person than to leave a bad review that could hurt the business. So when I was paying, I said it was kinda frustrating that the website allowed me to make an appointment for something they didn't offer. (I did my best to be nice but calmly assertive - not here to berate a human being.) They actually said to leave a review, thanked me for being nice, and that was it. I was hoping for a discount to be honest; maybe I should have just asked for one. Anyway, it was a giant bummer and a waste of gas.
