Popped in here after work without an appointment on a weekday and they were able to assist me right away for gel manicure. My experience has been consistently decent over here. The technicians can't do tricky, creative nail art but you can expect a high quality basic gel manicure. The salon is quite spacious and clean. Sometimes I find they lack wide array of polish colors/types though. Overall service is satisfactory for the reasonable price of $50 for gel manicure compared to the other salons in the area which also includes a quick shoulder massage and hand masks application. PS. Cuticle is the best, hands down. Quality service, perfect vibe, and the owner and staff are soooo warm and friendly. I live in Lakeshore East and adore Gina, the owner, and Lisa, the amazing professional who does my eye waxing and chair massage (her hands are magic ). The salon is peaceful, relaxing, and calming. And the prices are right in line for any type of service in Chicago. I would go back for pedicure, but not manicure. They cut my nails too short and unevenly. My ring finger nail is longer than my middle nail because they cut the middle nail to the stub. But the pedicure was nice and I might go back, but nothing to praise home about. read more

Wonderful little nail shop! BUT SHE DIDNT DO WHAT I asked her to do. I came in for French tips. Not pink sparkles. I could of done that at home by myself. I can't do French tips at home so that's the service I came in for so I'm a little upset. When she brought out the sparkles I thought she was going to add it on top of my French tips but that wasn't the case so bad communication there. But the establishment is VERY CLEAN and helpful. I just paid $40 for a pedicure & did not want nail polish. Usually they over massage your legs in a pedicure & hardly touch your feet... well I didn't receive a massage for either. She also put one very hot towel over my feet and then walked away immediately without asking about the temperature. So I paid $40 for the basics. read more

Have been here several times for pedicures and they always do a great job! I even took my partner for his first ever pedicure and it was a success! On one occasion, I realized a couple of nails were sharp before I left, and they had no problem fixing it. Everything is extremely clean and well run! It's now my go-to spot. read more

I am thrilled that this wonderful salon is in the neighborhood. It's cleanliness, peacefulness and friendly staff set it a part. One of the first things I noticed was that they had relaxing music and no TVs blaring. The other clients were quiet and respectful which made for a relaxing experience. All the employees were wearing masks and they had plastic dividers throughout. Also they have a HUGE color section. It's a little overwhelming but it's very organized so I was able to fairly quickly pick out what I was looking for. Unlike other salons I never was pressured to get a gel manicure which I really appreciated. Can't wait to go back! I highly recommend making a reservation rather than trying to do a walk in. read more

This has been a LONG overdue review from yours truly. I have lived in the Lakeshore East neighborhood for the last 4 years and my manicures from Cuticle have always been consistently spectacular. I've attached just a few pictures of my natural nails with their no chip. (Seriously, they last 3 weeks) No matter what technician you get, she will do an excellent job. Each goes through an extensive process from the owner in order to provide services. No chip includes these moisturizing gloves that protect your hands from the UV, Kiehl's lotion, and a back massage. Pedicures are a dream - you have an option of picking green tea or lavender. They sanitize everything and you never feel the *cringe* of some other nail places (who obvi are not going to be named here). The owner always has calming classical music / instrumental covers that make you feel at ease. The place is huge and there is no gross acetone smell. Yeah, the prices are a TAD high, but the service is outstanding. Ugh guys just go here to get your nails done. Every time I *try* to go elsewhere, I cuss at myself cause I just wasted my time and money for a subpar job. read more

I have lived right next door to Cuticle for the past 3 years and just recently decided to give it a shot, and I'm really glad I did. I called ahead and was able to get in the same day (it was a Tuesday) for a SPA Pedicure and No-Chip Manicure. For starters, the salon itself is sparkling clean, and I saw the staff rigorously cleaning the entire time. The staff are super polite, friendly and efficient. They're focused all the time on your service and constantly ask if you need anything or if you're okay with the service. The place is also super COVID cautious as the minute you walk in, you are asked to sanitize your hands and your temperature is checked. Masks are also worn by staff and customers. They offer plenty of nail and wax services and I'm excited to try all of them, specially that they have a huge variety of colors to choose from. Great experience! This is a bright and airy place, just off the dog park and next to the popular Eggy's restaurant. They have a huge selection of polish choices, including my favorite OPI long lasting (with the silver top). Staff was efficient and polite, and my nails were perfectly polished and trimmed. I love that they use Kiehl's for their lotion too! Totally recommend, and would suggest you make an appointment on a Saturday because they get busy. read more

I went there today and was in a rush to just get my nails done. So I really didn't pay much attention to it. I thought the one doing my pedicure was super gentle and I was thrilled that she was. Buttttt.. after my long day and a warm bath, as I was inspecting my $40 pedicure and I'm super disappointed. As you can see in the photos, it looks so messy and just really not done properly. The coats were not even. I did like the owner very much. She saw me inspecting my manicure after the topcoat was done and it seemed like too much top coat so she had it fixed. The BEST pedicure I've had in a long time. After having my temperature checked and given hand sanitizer, I was brought over to a comfortable chair and given the option to choose between lavender and green tea moisturizer for the water jet soak. My feet and calves where then gently scrubbed and massaged. My experience was very attentive, soothing, and I loved the nail polish I picked even more after application! You also get a nice back massage while your feet dry which was unexpected and quite delightful! Can't wait to come back! read more

Fairly large nail salon in downtown. They have 10 manicure stations, and 8 pedicure stations. The pedicure has two scent options: Lavender or Green Tea. The pedicure includes a soak, scrub, and lotion. I've had a few pedicures here, and each of them have last at least 6 weeks. They have a complimentary beverage stand with water, coffee, and sparking water. Appointments are required - so call ahead. Unfortunately, their prices are not listed in their store. So it can definitely be a sticker shock if you don't look online. read more

I was feeling low and decided it would be a good idea to treat myself to a mani pedi. I found this place online and was impressed by the reviews so I decided to check it out. The place is beautiful - super modern and clean! I felt like I was rushed though my mani pedi and didn't get to enjoy it - which is the main reason why I came. It wasn't even busy so I'm not sure why I was in and out. I asked the manicurist to do a clear coat and she told me, "I already buffed them, it is the same thing." I bit my tongue. If you're providing a service, simply do what is asked. Overall, I won't be coming back here. For $50, I don't think it is worth it. My friends wanted pedicures and I decided that I wanted one too. We walked into this nice, clean, and quiet environment, and was greeted by the lady up front. She answered to our needs and offered a huge selection of colors next to her. We all got regular pedicure which is $38. There was no wait so we were seated immediately. My nail technician did an excellent job with care. My best part? The massage, I was ready to fall asleep. I had water jets and it stayed hot throughout the whole service. When I was seated to the dryer, I was ready to pay but she wasn't done! She also massaged my back, and it was really nice. I looked down and my feet looks great and feels nice. I was relaxed with my service, I would go here again whenever I'm in town! A little self-care never hurt anybody. read more

I love this nail salon! It is very clean and everyone that works here is SO kind. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by someone who gives you a pump of hand sanitizer and takes your temperature. There are plenty of manicure stations and pedicure chairs to go around and they are all very, very clean. I have been going to this salon for about 3 years now and have never had a negative experience. My nails are always perfectly cleaned, shaped, and colored. They have OPI regular polish and gel as well as Essie regular and gel. Before your pedicure, you get to pick either Lavender or Eucalyptus as your water soak and lotion scent. The chairs have a back massager which enhances your relaxation, and the foot and leg massage is just an added plus. For manicure, as soon as your hands are ready to be shaped and polished, you'll put on these fingerless gloves with lotion inside so your hands feel super smooth afterwards. All-in-all, a wonderful experience always! read more

This is my favorite salon on the planet! Always wonderful customer service and my nails are beautiful and so long- lasting. I touch them up with top coat every other day (that is a great tip from a friend of mine) and they last all week. No gel or dip! Lovely ladies all and they use wonderful products. I've been coming to Cuticle for over a year now, I've been to many other nail salons in Chicago and cuticle is by far the best. They're super super clean and consistent with service. The service is so consistent that you don't even need to request a certain nail tech because they all do a wonderful job. My favorite thing about this place is that they don't use an electric dremel to buff off the top layer of no-chip so my nails have actually become much healthier since coming here. They also do not do acrylic nails here so it doesn't smell bad either. They let the nails fully soak off with acetone and foil so there's no damage to the natural nail. It's situated in a beautiful park and they play very calming music so the entire experience is so relaxing. And again it's literally immaculate in this place and they're so gentle and tedious in caring for your nails. My boyfriend also loves coming here. read more

I'm new to the no chip community but have gone to several salons and hands down, this is the best no chip manicure I've ever had. I'm on week 3 right now w/ no chipped nails or even lifts. If I didn't have an event to attend this weekend, I would stretch it out another week. I will say that though the products used were amazing, the salon was SILENT, no talk at all between the customer & nail techs. There is a firm woman who sits at the front who is pretty stern and can come off rude & awkward as hell by saying absolutely nothing to SOME patrons & offering drinks (water / coffee) to only some patrons.
