I run a small business that sends out about a 1-2 thousand packages a year but this post office I…read moreavoid most of the time even though my shop is four blocks from it. They constantly lose packages because they refuse to scan prepaid items in if they don't feel like it (funny how every time they do this, one of the packages never makes it into the system and there's "nothing they can do") and they constantly miss scheduled mail pickups for us small businesses. The employees are RUDE, they typically try to close early, and parking is just awful. It's so sad to be a small business owner that can't rely on the local post office.

Parking is street and not easy to count on. These are the types of POs that can cause people to be irritated by the whole system. But 3 stars because they do do their job. Just not always fast, and not always with a smile.

Don't expect to buy a used table or couch and not need to clean and rehab it a bit. I personally feel the price is worth the few extra hours you will need to get it up to par. We had an unusual problem, with no obvious solution. Above the electric stove top on our kitchen…read moreisland there is an old (Zephyr) range hood with a glass canopy that had been installed too low and intrusive, at least relative to the location of my head when cooking. We had hoped to be able to lift the whole thing a few inches, but had no idea how. Enter Eliot from Applicare. He pondered the situation, consulted a printout of the manufacturer's docs, and discussed with us. The conclusion was that we could probably just eliminate the canopy and retain the key functionality of the hood. 90 minutes of hard work ensued, mostly by him, but ably assisted by my wife and (occasionally) me, and it was done! The charge was entirely reasonable, and we'd be happy to engage him again. And he's a character!
