SIMPLY THE BEST THERE IS! I hired Michelle and her team to cater our Corporate Anniversary party every year my business was in California. We insisted she prepare her Prime Rib each year. Last year we moved to Kentucky, and boy how we all commented it wouldn't be the same, with someone else's Prime Rib. I called Michelle thinking maybe I'd buy her and her team a plane ticket. She was gracious enough to give me the recipe! I couldn't believe it! She helped me figure out how much meat per person, step by step instructions... everything!!! Who does that? Talk about taking care of the customer long after the sale. Can't recommend them enough.

I cannot day enough amazing things about Michelle. I was in a huge bind when my venue got shut down due to covid. I had 12 hours to find someone to cater a small, now, in-home brunch for my sons Masters Degree virtual graduation. I told what I originally wanted along with my budget and she made it happen. One Hot Dish will be my go to anytime I have an event whether it be big or a small intimate dinner party. After being in the hospital for months and the outcome each day became more and more grim unless I received a gift. I did. So this bday was extra special all I wanted was to be in my home with my family to laugh and to enjoy great food. Michelle from the moment I called was so great I told her the type of food I wanted, we went through a menu and options to switch around items if I needed to, when I had any questions she was available to answer right away. From a great mixed green salad with fruits and nuts, to a delicious Pasta Pomadoro , a juicy Chicken Parm. An incredible Penne Alla Vecchia, mouth watering Garlic Rosemary rolls she DID NOT disappoint, when she arrived I gave her a big hug she then handed me an extra pasta, she had remembered me saying how much I love Linguini and Clams but I didn't think everyone would eat it, well she went out of her way to make it anyways, it was a hit with everyone as well. I HIGHLY recommend One Hot Dish to anyone that may or may not have a vision of what they want because even if you aren't sure Michelle will spend the time needed to brainstorm ideas and work with your budget to give you exactly what you want and more. After reading so many wonderful Yelp reviews I decided to go with One Hot Dish for a company event. The following is what we experienced. It was confirmed weeks prior to the event that the staff would arrive at 5:00 PM or a little earlier to unload and setup so that everything would be ready at 5:30 PM when our party started. However, they did not arrive until 5:15 PM. The staff was still unloading and preparing the food well after guests arrived at 5:30 PM. Also confirmed weeks before the event, One Hot Dish was do bring the following items: napkins that were to be wrapped around our plastic utensils, a red and white tablecloth for the serving table, a pineapple tree as pictured in Yelp photos in which we discussed would be replicated (just a bit shorter at 2 pineapples high), lemon bars, and serving pitchers for drinks. One Hot Dish did not come through for these items. There were plastic forks and knives that were placed into two plastic cups, and about 15 napkins provided, not wrapped as promised. The plates were not quality and were leaking juice onto our tables. The red and white table cloth that was promised was not brought. Luckily, we had one on hand. Also, only one pitcher was brought, so again, luckily we had one available that the servers could use. Had this been an event outside of someone's home we would have been rushing to the store, missing our own event to purchase these items. As for the food, it was just okay. The appetizers (bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese) was cold and our entrées and sides were just barely warm. They were not transferred in food warmers so by the time they had arrived at our location they were again, faintly warm. We had agreed on fresh garlic rosemary dinner rolls. The dinner rolls were store-bought, cold, and no butter was provided for them. The lemon bars were not provided and the lemon meringue pie that was store-bought and brought to us had crust broken everywhere and did not look nice or taste good. We had to provide our own water for the lemon-cucumber water and iced tea and this was not expected. When you request beverages you would think that the liquid that makes up the beverage would be provided, but we had to use our own water. What if our event was held at a park? We would have had to use drinking fountain water! The fruit on the fruit skewers did not look fresh and was very scarce and there was no dip provided for them as was promised. We were supposed to have a strawberry dip. Again, you could tell that the fruit was bought from a mixed fruit container at the grocery store and slapped on skewers. The pineapple tree was not like the one that I had told you we wanted that we saw on Yelp. This was very disappointing to us. We had made several requests to have that same pineapple tree replicated, just a bit shorter. All in all, I would not recommend One Hot Dish. No care went into the timeliness, food quality or preparation. With over four weeks ahead that we had this event planned, we were very disappointed. read more

We are a catering company that specializes in weddings, corporate events, ongoing meal deliveries, backyard BBQ, movie industry, private chef to your home, affordable and quality catering.

History

Established in 1999.

We started by hosting our own backyard BBQ's. Our simple event turned into 150 guests. We discovered in order to enjoy our own party we had to hire help. That is when we decided to branch out and help others enjoy their special day. We now cater up to 1000 guests for corporate events. Private affairs of 50-200 is our specialty.

Meet the Business Owner: Michelle W.

I've always loved to entertain. Each year my family would have a Fourth of July party that started out with a few couples enjoying a sunrise horseback ride followed by a rustic backyard BBQ. After a few years, our simple affair turned into a block party with bounce houses, dunk tanks, mechanical bull rides and live entertainment. I was in heaven. The word spread and before I knew it I was cooking for friends and friends of friends while helping them plan their parties. This is when I decided this was the industry for me. I continued my education in Culinary Arts and served as executive chef in a 5-Star establishment. In 2005, I was catering every weekend while working full time in a law office. By 2012 I was catering full time. From weddings to baby showers and corporate events, I have served thousands. I take great pride in my work and I will not sacrifice quantity for quality. I want to have a relationship with you for years to come.

I hired Michelle to cater my son's celebration of life. When I first reached out to her, I was grieving and I had no idea what I should serve. Michelle was amazing at providing me with so many great menu options! She was professional, compassionate, and patient, while I struggled to make choices about which entrées to select. She is truly an expert in her field! The day of the event, Michelle and her team were there to set up the most beautiful buffet tables and drink station. One Hot Dish catered my wedding and it was awesome. Michelle brought samples for us to taste even though we live in the high desert and she is in Norco (I think)! She stayed in touch with me every step of the way and when it came the day of my wedding when I forgot the sterno she came to the rescue! We served the tri-tip, adult mac & cheese, citrus chicken, and whiskey glazed carrots. Everybody loved the food, but we especially loved the tri-tip and the adult mac & cheese. Michelle is amazing to work with! Her menu is on point, and if there are any concerns or issues she is quick to fix them. This is my third time using her for a large scale corporate event, and as always I was very impressed. The food is very well prepared and not sub standard. Often with catering you get generic food with a lackluster appeal, but One Hot Dish provides almost a fine dining fare with tastes that are delectable. Her pricing is reasonable and she will work with you to make sure you stay within budget without losing any of the elegance and flavor her food provides. If anyone is looking for a reliable and professional caterer look no further! Michelle did an absolute amazing job catering my bachelorette party and hors d'oeuvres for my wedding. She was quick to respond and very timely. Everything she provided taste amazing and presentation was stunning! I would highly recommend her for any future events. Wow. Michelle and her staff recently catered a grand opening for my real estate office. The food was absolutely amazing. I worked with Michelle for several weeks on this job and she produced an excellent product and excellent service.
