Came here for a soundbath which I purchased from Groupon. They were able to get me registered quickly and the staff was super responsive via email. Showed up and got checked in quickly. The soundbath was so relaxing that I'm pretty sure I fell asleep. I needed to bring my own mat, but everything else from bolsters to blankets were included. Facility is super clean and nicely decorated with plants. You park in the pavillions lot and they are located upstairs. Definitely will be back for another soundbath session! read more

If it wasn't for a work retreat, I probably won't stop by One Life Yoga. I parked at Vons parking lot and walked upstairs, entering from the back instead of the front door facing the street. I came with no expectation and I was open to anything that will happen. Unfortunately I didn't see colors during my sound bath. I did have memory flashed back of this year in my mind during the session. The instructor was kind and informative. We had a private party booked so I wasn't too worried about leaving my stuff in the locker area. There are no locks in the locker area by the way. I think it may be better to try the sound bath at night or if they lights were turned off. It was pretty bright and when the instructor mentioned the white light, I only see light from the window above me. My coworkers saw colors during the sound bath. Came back to One Life Yoga for the first time after the pandemic and they moved locations! I had a little bit of a difficult time finding the actual studio because it's nested away in the second-floor corner of a large plaza. I parked in the Pavilions parking lot because the instructions on the confirmation email said we could. The class itself was very soothing and calm. We went through the motions of various yoga poses and flows. The instructor was calming and nice. I felt like she had a lot of empathy for her students. She even came around to fix or adjust our bodies when she thought it was needed. Blankets, blocks, and other equipment is available for you (no need to rent) - bring your own mats! They have 2 gender neutral restrooms and cubbies to store your things, but no lockers. read more

Currently doing the 3 week unlimited special for new students and I LOVE this studio. The space is comfortable, clean, welcoming and has all the good feel vibes. In two weeks I have taken 7 classes and loved each one. All the instructor have been great. I have nothing but great things to say! I initially signed up for the restorative classes to ensure I don't get injured from all the running I've been doing. But I've also taken flow classes as well as their heated barre! I thought I would hate the heated barre class, sounded miserable, but I LOVED it!! I'm now hooked! Couple notes for first timers. Main entrance is through the Pavillions parking lot. There's also a door on Lake but they lock it when class is abt to begin then you have to run around to the back. So just park in the Pavilions parking lot and go on in! This is my new favorite yoga studio! I've gone to studios/classes in west LA, OC, all over Pasadena, and even random ones at parks and beaches, but none of them have the yoga techniques that One Life Yoga has! I've attended a few classes so far and what sets One Life Yoga apart from other studios is their lack of repetition. Maybe it's just a vinyasa thing, but I love that this studio really focuses on unique movements that stretch your body and strengthen your mobility rather than just doing the typical vinyasa style flow. I've learned a lot of new movements in here that really challenged me in a good way. Each class is unique, and each instructor has their own style. It really highlights the instructor's strengths and passion for the practice. The staff here is very personable, studio is clean, and they provide a lot of the yoga props that you need for the class. Took the 9am One Life Sequence class with Reza and loved the class! I really needed a great stretch and all the poses he guided us through were amazing. It's a beginner class but I thought it was great for all levels. Upon checking in, he provided great info on where everything was since it was my first time at the studio and made sure everything was ok before class started. The studio is a very cute space. They also have a meditation room that looks so cozy. Definitely want to try one of those classes out one day, a soundbath perhaps! Left class feeling refreshed! In 2023 I broke my left wrist. I had two surgeries, one to put in two plates and 5 screws for six months and another surgery to take out the plate and screws. Then physical therapy. Brutal. For a year I was not able to use my left hand and forearm, leading to the isolation of my left side (no mobility). The trauma left me paralyzed with fear that I would never be able to do yoga or any kind of weight training. But that all changed when I signed up for an introduction. I thought, well if I can't use my left side, then I wouldn't have wasted any money. A trial basis for myself, lacked total confidence. I started with Sara's class "Earth-Yin Restorative" and quickly realized the trauma my left side was in but Sara was so calming (she didn't know) and it kept me in check emotionally. Once I was cool with Sara's class, I moved to Lizzie's class "Elemental Flow" and quickly realized I was stronger than I thought. Go Lizzie! Her gentle way made the difficult asana's easy and kept me calm. My major step was pushing myself to Reza's "Heated OLY Flow" - I was terrified! Couldn't sleep the night before and thought "are you stupid, what have you done" - I braved it and I made it through, went home and celebrated! You guys have no idea how much this all means to me. I highly recommend OLY! I've been to many yoga studios and this place is special. I started going to their old studio using class pass for a few months then they offered thanksgiving deal of $999 unlimited classes for 1 year. I got it and been going almost everyday, sometimes 2-3 classes a day! I love this place so much. Coming here has helped me love my body and appreciate what my body can do. I had both knees surgery last year due to overuse playing volleyball without strengthening. The classes have been helping me strengthen the muscles around my knees and the rest of my body. I've replaced my vball addiction to this. More gentle to my body now that I'm almost 40. My favorite classes are Water by Arletta (slow calm pace but always gets me sweating, thoughtful hands on adjustments, creative functional flows, clear specific cues), all Chasity's classes (well thought out sequencing, calm authentic vibe, hands on adjustments, challenging), Elemental flow by Lizzie (creative fun transitions, nourishing flows, authentic vibe, seasonal themes). So many classes for different preferences. I would go to all their classes everyday if I didn't have anything else to do and if my body can handle it lol. The flows are different every time I go. The vibe is nonjudgemental/ accepting. Modifications are always offered. Props are available. I don't feel ashamed to try the challenges and I also don't feel ashamed if I can't do them. I feel good after the classes. I am so grateful for this place. The annual membership is so worth it! I'm looking forward to being a member for a long time! read more

I bought a 3 week intro to see if I would enjoy yoga here. I only literally took 1 class and wasted my money and should have just bought the drop in. It's too far of a drive for me and I wish I just paid for the single class. It was easy to come here when I lived locally but now I don't so.... The studio is cool though. I bought a ton of nice healthy products to use. I may just come to shop but I don't think I would go for the yoga ‍. At least I tried it out. I tried the hot yoga but I enjoy more heat. read more

Reza and Lizzie's One Life Yoga is the perfect balance of spiritual sanctuary and family home all wrapped into one. As a total beginner I didn't know what to expect but the Monday night Yin class has quickly become an essential part of my self love ritual for me and a highlight of my week. It has helped ease my anxiety. Such a peaceful space to release all the noise that life throws at me. Reza's Yin class has been a god send for me. This is a family run business and it shows, they are so welcoming and warm, everyone is super chill and unpretentious. I came here earlier this year (January) for a soundbath event. So this is only for that experience. Parking is relatively easy if you come in the evenings. In the daytime, it's a madhouse thanks to Millie's :) We were running a few minutes behind and I felt like the staff was irritated because of it. I'm like maybe you should be taking this class So we had to rent mats as the ad we saw for the event wasn't very clear. I don't remember how much it was but it was reasonable. Make sure you take your shoes off also when you walk in. They have an area for you to keep your things in. They gave us blankets and eye masks to help relax us. I tried not to fall asleep and snore. But that didn't happen and you'll find out why soon. Although some guy was knocked out and snoring hella loud. So the beginning was really soothing with the rain makers and music. It also smelled pretty nice in there. About midway during the soundbath, two dudes were screaming at each other that it's not the others fault outside. Between them and the snoring guy, I couldn't relax. Totally ruined the experience because they didn't stop arguing until like 5 minutes before it bath was over. I hope since then this location has gotten some sound proofing because I can't imagine going here for yoga during the day with the amount of traffic and pedestrians. read more

This review is only for the soundbaths. On their website, they say "Sundays are for Soundbaths," a sentiment I now highly agree with. Every Sunday, a practitioner comes and leads a sounbath. Everyone lays down on a mat, brings their own pillow and blankets, borrows some bolsters to get into a restorative pose and then listens to singing bowls align their chakras. It's such a cool and chill experience. A fantastic way to zen out and end your weekend, and it's my favorite if someone has essential oils as you inhale their sweet scents while willing yourself not to fall asleep and fully experience the amazing sounds. read more

Such a great local spot! I came here for a sound bath a few months ago. It was a great experience! I like the size of the studio itself. There were about 20 people in the class. The instructors were so good! They went around the room during the sound bath and played for everyone individually and also had really great insights to the practice! It was nice to experience this class at might before bed because it provided the relaxation and ambiance for a sleepy mood. I would say that because this studio is on the corner of a busy intersection it would be best to attend this type of class later at night. The cars and traffic can definitely be heard in the class and can sometimes be distracting but is also a nice way to practice staying focused and mindful. Be good to yourself. I wanted to make sure I came here at least 3 times before I write a review. This is typical when I review exercise classes. This is a beautiful studio with a city industrial vibe. Most classes I attended had 15 to 25 people. I have take yoga classes from Reza and Gladys. They are both amazing teachers. I am trying to come and experience the wonderful energy from every teacher since I heard many good things. I took the water sequence from Reza which is a heated 75 minutes class. If you like heat and non-stop movement, this is it! It made me drip sweat. He was very descriptive and called out unexpected sequences, or ones that I was not familiar with which was a nice surprise. Don't be offended if he comes around to adjust, so you will become a better yogi. I took Glady's Bhakti Lunar Flow. I used to think "what is that?". It is a slower flow class, which I like because I am taller and no longer lanky, but have low blood pressure, so my body really likes yin and slow movements and napping. Anyhoo...It has repeated sun salutations, and stretches that feel oh so good. Glady's is really an excellent teacher, super descriptive, perfect timing and gives corrections. Besides her giving mini head massage at the end, she really stands out as a knowledgeable and teacher with alot of dedication and soul. Quick summary of the types of yoga: Water Sequence - faster flow class Fire Sequence - hot & humid Earth Sequence - yin style class Air Sequence - not sure, but I will find out Tips: 1. If you are going to heated class, bring water and a towel, not only to wipe sweat but to prevent sweaty palms from slipping 2. Don't be late. try to arrive 10-15 min early. I have made the mistake twice. The main door will lock. 3. ENTRY: is in the back parking lot, entering from E. Washington next to breakfast place, NOT from Hill Street. I really adore this studio. There's some fantastic range in classes and everything is super clean and orderly. Reza, Thalia and Heather are my favorite instructors, and I love the pace it offers for an after-work practice. There's a focus on strengthening form that remains relaxing while still challenging my ability. The yoga-barre class is also awesome if you want something more cardio heavy, it was literally one of the hardest (including pilates) classes I have ever taken !! I like this place, but it's soon gonna relocate. I guess I'll adjust. First class ("water") was wonderful, but overwhelming to me as a beginner. The second class ("earth") was a much better fit for me, and I've decided to pursue. Both class instructors, Alex and Sarah are terrific. I recently visited One Life Yoga to check out their studio and see what their class schedule looks like. All I can say is...SO impressive. I was warmly greeted by Samy Rose, one of the owners. Despite the fact that she was attending to several clients who had just finished a class, she was so inviting and personable to me. I immediately felt at ease which meant so much. It can be kind of intimidating visiting a new wellness studio so Samy Rose's kindness just blew me away. What a gem she is! She gave me a tour of the studio and showed me their class schedule. She also invited me to download their app and offered to walk me through it. As far as the studio goes, it is gorgeous. I loved the fact there is a locker room with showers. Everything was immaculate. The entire space has positive energy. You can immediately feel it here. Samy Rose also showed me their dedicated parking lot which I really appreciated. It's not easy finding parking in Pasadena and the fact they have their own lot, with plenty of spaces, is a huge plus. It is so obvious that they put their clients' needs first. I've tried yoga before and it's not my kinda thing, but soundbaths are a great fit for my level of comfort. When I saw that One Life Yoga offers soundbaths on a regular basis, I immediately signed up for one. It was a cinch to do so via their app (which by the way, is a gorgeous app). So I attended one of the soundbaths with Shane. What a beautiful experience. I liked Shane's approach. He does a nice intro and wrap up, with plenty of breathing and encouragements to open your heart and soothe your spirit. I found his comments to be soothing and calming. And the sounds he plays profoundly touch and activate your deepest self. If you attend a soundbath, bring your own mat, pillows, and blankets. It makes your experience really personal when you have your comfy pillow and blanket with you. I can't wait to go back. Like I said, the whole place and the people there exude positive vibes and hospitality. That inviting energy really makes you want to return. It's a safe and beautiful place to practice self-love and nourishment. My soundbath took place in the evening, and when I exited the studio, I noticed their parking lot was really well-lit. I appreciated that a lot. It's like you're being taken care of even as you get in your car to leave. Also, there's a super sweet dog who hangs out in the studio. I found OLY after my former home studio closed during the pandemic. I am a yoga teacher with a young toddler at home and needed somewhere to practice outside of the house. What prompted this review is I took the best class I've taken in a few years with Arletta this morning. For the first time in almost 2 years, I felt at home in my body and fully present. I have taken classes from many teachers all over since 2000 and this class was one of the best. I felt so honored to be there. I also really enjoy Saturday morning with Chasity. She is a bundle of sunshine. So glad I found somewhere offering quality yoga during this strange times. Only con is I wish all the teachers offered more adjustments and got off their mat more (note: this could be a function of the times we are in because I didn't attend prior to the pandemic). read more

This yoga studio feels a bit disorganized. I signed up for their 3 week trial for $40 and every class I attended was less structured than the next. This place isn't really for "athletic" yoga... which I'm sure is not very cool or zen of me, but still... I like a little sweat to accompany my deep breathing. Let's just say I attended one class where a sub walked in and goes: "so what do you guys usually do in this class?" Turns out the answer was a lot of slow stretching. The variety of classes and the practice flow is fairly unique and carefully guided. Instructors are attentive to problem areas and often modify their practice to suit the needs of the class. I am soooooooo happy that this is my yoga studio! I had been researching for a while, and I wanted something close to home so that I would actually go, meditation as well as yoga, enough evening/weekend classes for 9-5 working people, and to actually learn the practice and authentic background, instead of something purely fitness-focused or from a corporate chain. I got such a great vibe in my first few visits that I knew I'd found my studio. There wasn't a sales pitch or follow-up calls, but I tried a few of the "Gratitude" classes (open to everyone by donation) and Japa Meditation sessions before I decided on my own to be a member. The studio is in a super cute historic building off Washington Blvd, with a parking lot in the back. Sometimes, I rush over after work to make classes, and they staff is always super chill about it. You can sign up for classes on the app so that you don't need to check in upon arrival. They have a changing room with cubbies for your belongings, doors are locked (or someone is at the front desk) during classes so that they're safe, and they have showers. The attention to detail and accommodations shows that they really care about members..... showers are well-stocked with organic products, bathrooms have tampons, etc. They also rent mats and towels and sell water, snacks, and other accessories. One of the main factors that brought me back many times was how warm and welcoming the staff, teachers and owners always are. Samy, Reza, Laura, Lizzie, Gladys, Lea.... they always greet me like an old friend and remember my name (I wish I knew how they did it so well because I'm horrible at it!). I've stayed long after classes many times to have good conversations. They've offered to stay later so that I can use the shower when I get invited to a last-minute dancing night out and the class was sweatier than I thought :) Most of them seem to be passionate, lifelong yoga practitioners who have spent many years learning and studying. I love the variety of classes they offer...... Marika's Kundalini class will leave me with sore abs and an ass-beating (the good kind) for days, the Friday evening Gratitude classes are just the right amount of positive energy and physical activity to end the week, Lea is great at really explaining and helping her classes understand the mantras and meanings, Gladys' Bhakti classes always leave me feeling so positive and energized and I love her enthusiasm.... I could go on and on! Each is great for students of different levels. I started as a beginner not too long ago and I've already noticed myself getting so much stronger and each class I take, I realize I can do something I wasn't able to do in the last class. The studio also hosts a variety of workshops and events, Sunday soundbaths, information sessions about clean eating, mindfulness, chakras, and so much more. I looooove Gladys and Lea's monthly Japa Mediation class and block it off on my calendar when I see it scheduled. It truly feels like a community and I'm so grateful I found it. I wandered into this studio one day because I was curious. It's part of the new Washington Square gentrification. I live a couple of blocks up the hill. I signed up for the new member special, took a few classes and now....I'm hooked. The space is comforting, the instructors are well-versed and caring. The classes are varied; offering something for anyone regardless of your age or ability. As a woman "of a certain age" who had never experienced yoga before...I thought I'd be overwhelmed. This is a great boutique yoga studio that has a very welcoming, non-competitive, and caring vibe. 2020 has been a challenging year and I credit this studio and their online classes that have allowed me to develop an even stronger practice this year that gave me the strength both physically and mentally to get through challenge after challenge in 2020. I signed up for 3 weeks trial. It was good but not very satisfied experience. I expected instructors to help with posture correction. However, every single instructor seemed to focus on demonstration on their own not pay attentions for attendees. I often spotted out people would do the wrong way without proper instruction. Well..., those instructors are young and talented, specially one of teacher can sing beautiful Indian hymn. The space is nice and well maintained as well. But be honest, people come to studio for professional help, otherwise, I could just do it at home. My personal experience could be biased, however, when I came cross with great instructor, it became the light of motivation. I know after all of hard work, I'm improving, not shooting in dark without awareness. So, I am kind of critical of that sense. read more

I took the Candlelight Meditation class with Marika and could not have been any more pleased! The atmosphere was perfect with the lights down and candles illuminating their beautiful studio at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. Cushions and blankets had been laid out for us. I'm always too hot or too cold anywhere I go, but like Goldilocks, I felt it was just right. Though the turn-out was good, Marika took the time to greet each one of us and make us feel completely comfortable. She has such a calming, positivity about her. She talked us through the exercises, helping guide our thoughts, posture and breathing in a very nurturing and informative way without ever once seeming critical or making me feel self-conscious (esp as a yoga newbie). Was a fantastic way to spend an evening during an otherwise stressful and busy week. Hope to make her teachings a part of my daily routine - even when I can't make it to class.
