I took the Candlelight Meditation class with Marika and could not have been any more pleased! The atmosphere was perfect with the lights down and candles illuminating their beautiful studio at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. Cushions and blankets had been laid out for us. I'm always too hot or too cold anywhere I go, but like Goldilocks, I felt it was just right. Though the turn-out was good, Marika took the time to greet each one of us and make us feel completely comfortable. She has such a calming, positivity about her. She talked us through the exercises, helping guide our thoughts, posture and breathing in a very nurturing and informative way without ever once seeming critical or making me feel self-conscious (esp as a yoga newbie). Was a fantastic way to spend an evening during an otherwise stressful and busy week. Hope to make her teachings a part of my daily routine - even when I can't make it to class. You'll find in the class description that they offer Bikram style to Hatha as well as Meditation practice. The owners Reza Samadi & Samy Rose have a beautiful vision. Beautiful space, passionate teachers and great variety of classes! I love taking class at sunset and seeing the mountains. All the teachers are different but grounded in openness and respect. At first I was confused by the names of the classes, but it's been fun getting to try them all and see what they're about. I live around the corner from this yoga studio, and have been coming at least once a week for over a year. I was very apprehensive at first given my lack of experience with yoga and physical conditioning in general, but Reza and the other instructors have been nothing but warm, welcoming, and supportive throughout. Over the year I have taken mostly water classes from nearly all the instructors - Reza, Alex, Lizzie, Jacqueline, Lea, Ashley, and Sofia (and Laura, who is no longer with the studio). They have all been fantastic, supportive, professional, friendly, non-judgmental, and hands on instructors, each with their own distinctive strengths and styles. The studio is also a beautiful and exceptionally clean space. Despite being located on a busy corner, the Hatha room is very peaceful, with a beautiful view of the mountains and a calming energy. read more

Attended Sunday evening special event which included mediation and sound bath. It was a perfect way to start of the new year. The studio is warm and welcoming with a nice open space to get to connect with others when you walk in. really appreciated the fact the have showers in the changing room as well in case you are on the go. The instruction was challenging but accessible making it right for all levels - advanced or those with a basic foundation. The sunny studio is important to me and makes the practice so much more enjoyable. Showers are available (which is key) and the facilities were all clean, and pleasant to be in. Unique space with a nice selection of classes including meditation. I tried their​ intro package and attended at least one of each. The one con, as far as I am concerned, is the locker room area. There aren't​ any actually lockers where you can secure your belongings​. I hate worrying about my things during class​ and don't want to lock stuff in my car. So happy to find this gem in our neighborhood! My boyfriend and I signed up (because the 3-week intro rate was too good to pass up!) and have fallen in love with the studio. The 3 week intro period gives you plenty of time to try out all the different teachers and classes and find what works best for you. As a beginner, I didn't feel intimated in any of the classes and the teachers were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Since then we have signed up for the year! Truly a special place :) read more

This is my first review on yelp. I usually just lurk read reviews and decide to patronize places based on ratings but I was compelled to write a review. I first found out about this place when I was fixing my car near by. I saw their promotion and decided to look in to it. So after exploring their website I noticed that they offered an introduction to yoga class for 40 bucks. I have never done yoga and have wanted to try it out for some time, so I decided to pull the trigger. I am so glad I did, best 40 bucks I've spent in a while. The class was on a Saturday and lasted two hours. It was taught by Co owner Reza who was extraordinary. I found out that the introduction course actually consists of two courses the 1st being on the 1st Saturday of the month, which consists of more the historical background of yoga. While the 2nd course(held on the 3rd Saturday of each month), which I took, is actually getting into the physical aspects or performing yoga. This was perfect for me as I wanted to know if yoga was really for me in the first place and I might have been turned off taking a course where no actual physical activity took place. Needless to say the place was very clean and tidy as expected of a 5 star location. Once the class started Reza gave a brief over view of yoga and then we started with minor poses. Which I didn't know were only warm ups. Once he said this I knew I was in for some pain. For someone who weight trains 3 days a week I was shocked at how hard and how taxing the isometric holds in yoga are. Just keeping your balance takes a lot of energy. Reza was great though through out this helping to give us personal help on how to modify our "flow" if we physical could not do it. The class lasted about 2 hrs but it went by fast was challenging, very informative yet calming all at the same time. Afterwards I felt like a million bucks it was crazy how good I felt. Once I got home though the pain calm hard I felt like I had a killer workout at the gym and every part of my body was sore, especially body parts that never get that stimulus at the gym. I did tweak my shoulder inproperly doing a pose but that isn't too bad. Overall I would easily recommend going to this class, one life yoga and Reza if you are on the fence with yoga, as after this class I am sold. read more

Highly recommend One Life Yoga studio! This was my third time there. I have taken two beginner yoga classes and a meditation class. The yoga classes were small with plenty of room to practice and focus without feeling like you were going to hit someone next to you. The meditation class I took about a year ago was so relaxing, I still remember it!I don't practice on a consistent basis and consider myself a beginner, but I have visited many yoga studios and I really like this one. This is a lovely studio with very capable teachers. Sophia and Garrison are phenomenal with their delivery of cues, spirit and compassion. Sophia's use of props to help participants open up restrictions in their bodies during the Earth class was amazing. Garrison puts together classes which encourage participants to explore their mind and bodies with curiosity, humor and kindness. His use of varied breath allows confidence and calm during this exploration.The classes I took left me feeling stronger, more centered and ready to face my day or evening.
