Was recommended to this smog station by my mechanic. The smog test only lasted 10-15 minutes and paid a decent price.

10/10 would recommend. Came in around 1pm and there was another car in front of me in line. 15 minutes later I was already on my way home. The guy is very knowledgeable and works really fast. $50 is also not a bad price at all.

I recommend this spot to anyone I know looking for a smog. My bro recommended him to me in the past for my 2006 Honda Civic. Best recommend ever. This guy is professional, efficient and chill. Had me in and out, fast. For a one man show, he's killing it. One of my best experiences getting my car smogged. I remember it didn't pass initially (my car had a history of that lol), but coming from a family of car guys, I knew what I had to do. His recommendations confirmed it too. He told me to come back at my convenience and it passed of course. He left a great genuine impression on me, which is rare as a female dealing with cars. Thanks so much! I went in as a walk-in to get my smog done. There were a few people in front of me, but we were able to wait in the A/C waiting room (which is rare around here). It made the wait so much more pleasant and they were done with the smog pretty quickly. The prices were straight forward. The whole process was so easy. what a great service. I got there 10 minutes before he officially opened, he pulled me in and had me out so quickly I could believe it was done. The waiting room is clean and comfortable. As the name implies, One Man Smog is a small business (the type I primarily try to support in this Covid era) AND one of those secret gems you stumble across every now and again. Tucked within a business park off major cross streets, it wasn't too hard to find and I avoided lines at those franchise shops (I was next up when I arrived). I spoke with the owner Houa, who's a friendly guy with very reasonable rates and says he's been in business for about 10 months. I know many people are leery of smog check shops (I'm one of them) because they've been taken in the past. Houa's shop is Test Only so there is no incentive for him to play those games. He simply gives you an honest test for a great price. Highly recommended. read more

He is fantastic! He is extremely accommodating and incredibly reasonably priced. The whole smog took maybe 15 minutes from start to finish and he let myself and my baby stay in the car for comfort. I heard about Houa through a referral and I drove up without an appointment. He was welcoming and invited me to take a seat inside the office's waiting room while he finished another smog test. When it was my turn, he was polite and got the job done quickly. His rates are one of the best in the Fresno/Clovis area with none of those coupon nonsense. Brought my car here to get a smog, my car failed because I had to reset the computer due to having a check engine light on for sensor I replaced. Houa told me I had to drive it for a certain distance and MPH to reset the computer Once I did that I brought it back to him and he only charge me 10 more dollars and I got my certificate. Same thing happened with my friends car and he had to pay double at another smog shop. read more

Such a nice man! I had fixed a car that was on Non-Op and took it here when I was ready to get tags. My car did not read the machine because it had a new battery in it so instead of giving me a fail he told me to drive it for a few days and get a temp reg from DMV so I would not get a ticket. I was thankful for his advice and car passed with flying colors when I returned. read more

However, A1 Star Smig came to the top with ChatGPT based on my lines, dislikes, and expectations of services to be rendered. It was 30 minutes away. Well outside of my distance scope. However, who am I to argue with ChatGPT. I arrived at the location and was immediately taken into the service section. There was another vehicle ahead of me. The technician handed me the paperwork and started the mechanical process. He stated that truck is going to take over an hour. Your vehicle will take considerably shorter to complete. How refreshing is it to do business with an entity that can balance time management while keeping their customers at a low stress level. I had my dog with me and fully expected to take her for a walk while we waited. Dog and I - very surprised by the time I finished the paperwork the mechanical process was done, uploaded to the State of California, and I had all documentation and receipt in hand - on my way to tge next stage. The technician was fast, efficient, helpful and kind. I am overdue getting this done and he just looked at me - without condemnations referred me to the closest AAA Office to avoid long DMV lines. How cool was that!? My daughter and son in law normally handled all of this for me. They are going through a divorce. So I felt it was time for me to take care of myself and my business. A1Star Smog made this transition to independence so much easier for this 76-year-old woman. Leaving us more time to get back to Mdera and have some much-needed dog park time. Therefore, if the dog could speak she would definitely tell you A1 Star Smog is dog-approved as well as human-approved .

They showed me the broken part and even did a quick demo, pointing out how to remove the part for fast replacement. They also mentioned this was pretty common in older model Hondas. Since I had already paid; they said get the part replaced, come back, and I could basically skip the line to get the test done. I replaced the part myself, which I'm pretty proud of, came back the next day and then my battery died... what the f@%k?! - NOTE: If your battery dies, the car computer has to reset. Which means you need to drive around for at least 50-miles. I did this, came back, they slide me in, and finally passed smog! The staff here was super patient, helpful, and very understanding to my situation. Beyond registration they also replace key fobs for cars and can cut new car keys as well.

That's what these guys did after I explained, that the truck had been sitting for a while, and they very quickly told me it wasn't ready for emissions to drive it a few more miles and then come back and it would give me a coupon. I also had got the replacement of the car engine filter. Thank goodness they had the engine filter in stock. Overall, I was highly pleased with the services provided to my vehicle. Mr. Houa was not only professional but also incredibly friendly and approachable. He greeted me warmly upon arrival and wrote me up and pulled my truck in. It wasn't busy at the time so the wait could be longer at times. The waiting area was clean and comfortable, providing a pleasant environment while I waited for the inspection to be completed. Houa efficiently carried out the smog check, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. He took the time to explain the results to me in a clear and concise manner, letting me know results have already been sent electronically to Sacramento. What truly impressed me was the overall efficiency and timeliness of the service. It was evident that he valued customers' time and worked diligently to minimize any inconveniences.
