if you have problems with your intercom, CALL JAY! Before calling Jay, I had two quotes to fix our 6-unit building's intercom (which partially worked - door buzzer worked, doorbells worked intermittenly, and the intercom talk feature did not work at all), both of which were over $1,000.00 and included replacing the outside panel, replacing the basement switchboard, re-running the wiring to each unit and replacing each unit's panel. On a whim, I called Jay out to do a third estimate (free estimates!) - he ran a few tests and was then able to replace the inside wiring on the outside panel in less than 30 minutes. And charged $150.00. Note: He also mentioned that this needs to be done every few years and it's the most common intercom problem there is. So, it's probably what's wrong with yours, too. One Stop Intercom is the best in Chicago! Jay really knows his stuff, he's incredibly quick to respond, and he saves his clients some serious money. When our intercom/buzzer system went down we had 2 different intercom companies look at it. The first was unable to repair it. The second never even attempted to repair it. Both said that it would need hundreds of dollars in repairs - and maybe total replacement. We called Jay from One Stop Intercom based on a friend's recommendation. He *immediately* found the problem - a blown $20 part. He corrected some errors in wiring from the original installation, and had the system up and running in less than an hour. It's been working great for 2 years. When we had another problem yesterday (someone broke the latch), Jay was the first person we called. Jay came out to fix the intercom system for our building last month. He was great, but now none of our intercoms are working. I'm sure it's as simple as something was hooked up wrong or a wire came loose, but now I cannot get ahold of anyone at the office. It's been three days and just goes to voicemail.
