Worked with Joaquin Aguirre to refinance my vehicle. I am an extremely well qualified Buyer and the process should have taken maybe 3 days at most, same as my previous two auto loans with OneAZ. Ended up cancelling the loan after more than 2 weeks because of the level of incompetence and lack of communication. My husband and experienced excellent customer service and a thorough understanding of our financial requirements. They treated us as family.

I've been a member for three years now, and joined because of all the great things I kept hearing about credit unions. However, contrary to the advertisements and the testimonials and recommendations from financial advocates, I still cannot find any real substantive benefit from being a member. None. I've spent the last three years becoming debt-free, and it's been really difficult, sacrificial work. Despite numerous and repeated attempts to reach out to them in my journey for support, advice, guidance, education, recommendation, and really become a part of the "family" they so enthusiastically promote, they repeatedly came back with absolutely nothing. The representatives I talked to made it clear with excellent courtesy that they didn't give a flip about my finances. Even with seeking to refinance a really bad auto loan as a part of my becoming more financially healthy--they had nothing to offer. They just continued with their standard statement of "come back when you have good credit." You know, they made it crystal clear they didn't substantively care. So, I became debt-free earlier this year, no thanks to them. Lastly, as a part of repairing my finances, I wanted to talk to a loan officer about getting an installment loan, just for the purpose of establishing that in my credit file. The loan officer didn't look out for me, didn't provide any caution, but just ran through their script. I agreed to apply, and he assured my I would be approved with my approximately 650 credit score, and said he'd call me back with a response by the end of the business day. He never called back, and I waited all weekend. I finally reached out again the next Monday, and was told my loan app went to an underwriter and I was denied. But this loan officer didn't have the *equipment* to give me a call back and let me know that same day, as he promised. Also, nowhere in my extensive questioning did this loan agent caution of an underwriter, even though I explained to him clearly my situation and intent. I REALLY SHOULD HAVE READ THESE REVIEWS before attempting to bank with these guys. After three years and several chances, I think I will have to find another financial institution to grow with. We have been members for a very long time. Credit Unions are not perfect but, we have had a very positive experience with OneAZ even when it was Arizona State Employees Credit Union. The plus side of this is the protection we have experienced relating to their debit and credit card service. We haven't banked in a regular bank in years so I can't speak for the banks around Phoenix. We really have to thank their OneAZ department that oversees the activity on your debit and credit card usage. If it wasn't for them our account would be no account. It is surprising how easy a debit card can be compromised even when you believe you're the only one with the PIN number. That is not true. Even though I check our account at least five times a week. Thank you for protecting us from the so called villains out there. read more

Really terrible experience. I had an account open & wanted to have my wife's account open there too. They asked for additional documentation (SSN etc) & everything has been submitted though we did not really feel welcoming while we were at Scottsdale branch (you can imagine how a new customer is treated in other banks). Even after submitting everything, the bank never acknowledged receiving them nor replied back to any of our emails. There are multiple options available in other banks for opening an account with steady flow of Direct Deposits. My wife is frustrated with this behavior & gone ahead opening an account in Chase. I already had an account & I don't want to close it immediately. Hence I've asked my employer to deposit only a minimal amount to this account & deposit rest of it in my other account. I'll get over with it when the time comes. read more

Wow what a terrible experience. Don't want to name names but let's just say this person did not know what he was doing. I got approved for an auto loan. This is my first time buying a car and the initial call was great, he said he would help me through everything and be available. He did not answer the phone for days when needing important documents, lied about services provided, and gave misleading information about out of state purchases. On the final closing day, he told me we could not close because he was missing a document that was not possible to obtain. At that point I already scheduled someone to pick up the vehicle so I had to quickly find another bank that could help in time. Will NEVER be using OneAZ, especially if you are looking for out of state or used vehicles from dealerships! Their policy makes it impossible and they do not care about their customers. Extremely disappointed with the customer service and misleading information. All they care about is getting you to bank with them, then they leave you in the dust. read more

Don't use this credit union. I refinanced my auto with them because they had a lower interest rate. LatI needed proof of the loan for another purpose. I've been given a run around for two weeks and still haven't gotten the simple retail contract I signed. I've talked to several reps by phone and at two different branches and with none of the individuals has been able to locate the document and each has given me a different procedure to get it. I still don't have this simple form. The longer I work on this the more obtuse and rude the reps become. I'd give zero stars if possible. I received a response a day later from the credit union on here to contact them. I wasn't informed how to make the contact. I'm certainly not going to call and get insulted by one of people who answer their phones. I was denied talking to a supervisor by the several reps I talked to before writing the above review. They told me a supervisor couldn't give me any more information than a representative could. However, an hour after I posted the review a supervisor did call me and sent me the form I needed within five minutes. I appreciated that greatly. She made me feel as though I am a valued customer of the credit union. read more

Actually, no, we cannot connect by calling. Spend forever on hold, oy to be told after 30+ minutes that "no agents are available today". The rare time you get through, there are no solutions to the problems. From a business banking perspective, you have gotten nothing right, and the "service" is pretty much non-existent. Cannot connect via dumb chat thing either, as you have us locked out and we cannot reach you unlock and you refuse to help if walking into a branch without an appt. You do FAR more to cripple than help. Again... DEPLORABLE service and policy. Not sure its possible to get it more wrong. cannot WAIT to close our accts and never return, and share with entire biz community, just how bad you are. You make banking almost completey impossible. Where do I begin... I went to Prescott Valley branch had great service from Chellie... started a HELOC then it went to Phoenix office where I had to deal with the most incompetent loan person ever. Signed paperwork, I left, on Monday morning I had questions called Danielle (at the PV branch)and asked her the questions I had... she got frustrated and began complaining to ME that this wasn't her loan blah blah blah. She told me she had 6 customers waiting and didn't want to call me back that I should hold on phone while she went back and forth to clueless loan officer in PX. Danielles attitude was surprising and sad. I supervised in a national call center and I would NEVER react to a customers frustration the way she dealt with me... so I canceled my loan after 45 days of an attempt. Don't need the money bad enough to put up with service like that.. read more

Applied for a construction loan with this credit union. Was very pleased with the level of service provided by the loan agent I dealt with at the branch office. But my pleasure ended there. After several months of going back and forth with the underwriter and eventually the attorney my loan was declined because there are CC&R's but no HOA in the subdivision where we intend to build the house. This was after I opened an account with One AZ, paid $700 for an appraisal and, at the underwriter's insistence, paid very large deposit to our builder. At no point during this process did anyone at OneAZ ever indicate that the loan was at risk of not being approved. Not happy and not going to do any business with them in the future. read more

I love this bank and all it has to offer. I usually work with the tellers Ria and Ada. They are always welcoming, fun, and prompt. They now call me by name when they see me, and I truly appreciate that. I have not done many other products with them other than an auto loan app and that went smoothly and we were approved, but ended up not getting a new car. I joined Arizona State Credit Union about 10 years ago because I was a state employee and I've always heard good things about credit unions. Unfortunately, I've never had particularly good service from this one. The Tempe location's ATM is consistently down. I've tried countless times to make deposits only to find that it's not working and since it's after hours, you're out of luck. I've had I don't know how many overdrafts because of this and while I've managed to get them reversed when explaining the situation, it's still a hassle to spend time calling them to explain that the issue is with their ATM not working. Repeatedly. I had so many issues with this that I finally transferred all my automatic payments and billing to a different bank and because I'm not depositing as much money every payday, or using my debit card as often, I'm now getting a "check maintenance fee" for the pleasure of keeping a little of my money in their credit union. I don't really see why I should pay them for an account I rarely use because they make it difficult to use. I have another credit union through my current employer and they offer all the service I ask for without taking any additional fees from me. So as soon as my automatic payroll deposits transfer away from OneAz, I'll be closing my account. There are a ton of options for credit unions and standard banks in this state, why use one that can't keep their systems working and then charge you money on top of it? read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I was 7 cents over and I went in and deposited cash the same day and received an overdraft fee. I spoke with Andre at the Chino Valley branch and explained that when I called and asked about the fee scale was told as long as I deposited by the end of the business day I would not get an overdraft fee. Andre explained that it doesn't matter how much you go over...even a penny and you deposit within the minute you will get an overdraft and there is no way to reverse it. Big banks aren't even that bad. So I ended up closing the account because that is absolutely ridiculous. I will continue to let people know about the banking practices of this horrid financial institution. read more

I have been been with OneAZ for a few years now. We even took out a home equity loan. When payoff came about as we are refinancing our home, there was a late fee. This happened when I opened the loan about 4 years ago. I never received a notice or phone call that the first payment was due. Finally I received something about a late fee. I called and their representative inferred it was for 1 or 2 months. We talked and I was told it would be taken care of. Now I find out it was for 5 months! During the 5 months I did not receive a single phone call or letter about it, not 1! And I was told this was taken care of. Since that time not a single late payment, ever! The fee is $41.00, but it is not the money, it is the principal. They were charging a late fee every month and not even a curtesy call, nothing. They wanted to keep charging late fees so they could get more money. Forget the customer, bring us the money! I will be pulling all my money from there. I just received notification from OneAZ that they are now reversing the charges. I changed my review from 1 star to 3. I would not go higher as it took my reviewing them and writing messages to them to get this reversed. This should have been done the first time I spoke to someone years ago, and then it should have been taken care of when I called the other day. They need to get their customer service to react better. So for now, 3 stars. read more

THE worst. I cannot believe how difficult it is to do business with this credit union. I have my auto loan through them, and they can do literally NOTHING over the phone. They always suggest you come into the branch regardless of the fact that their only open the same hours I'm always at work. Even if you make time to go in and deal with things face to face, they somehow manage to "lose" your paperwork. AND with your paperwork mysteriously gone forever, you get to pay all sorts of overdraft and late fees when they completely screw up your payment ACH date... after taking time to do in person. I've been a member for over a year and every experience I've had has been positive. Their online banking and billpay is extremely user-friendly. They linked a savings account I setup for my daughter so that I can see her account (and transfer money to it) when I log in to my own account. I have several "club" accounts where I can designate money for specific purposes. The best part is I am earning better interest here than anywhere else - INCLUDING ING! I made up my mind to quit B of A once and for all after they took billions in bailout money (MY taxpayer money) then turned around and announced ANOTHER fee for ME (customer). All the while, top management there was making annual salaries that I'll never see in a lifetime. What really impressed me was receiving a call on Sunday from the credit union after my husband's particularly busy weekend (his "honeydo" list was a mile long). The CU recognized it as an anomoly based on his past card useage and called him and asked him if he was indeed making all those card purchases. I strongly recommend AZSTCU. If you don't go with them, go with ANY credit union... as long as you leave greedy corporate banks who don't care about you. read more

I called and asked, to ascertain the number on my statement is, indeed, my acct number. She said yes. I paid my taxes. Bounced, charged $18 by the State of Az, it was 'the wrong #'. Got the money reversed with the State. They don't 'put the last 3 numbers on the statement in case someone gets a hold of it'. WHAT??! Went and closed 2 accts. Mgr in his ofc right next to where I was standing. No one else in bank. Therefore, he heard, but def the teller heard me say I want to close my accounts. NO ONE asked 'why'. No one tried to keep my business. When I was sent a survey by them and I said all this, I was sent a handwritten note by the bank mgr, 'if you need anything, let me know'. but not addressing the issue. They have said for over a decade they are 'working on getting quickbooks' downloadable via computer. Instead, they change their name and are SO STEWPUD [that's marinating in their own stupidity] they don't even do a redirect of the name they had for decades, azstcu.org I have one pers acct there, bc of a car loan paid thru it. Someone said they shred for free, I'll see, I have a lot of shred. And I will see if Chase can match the car loan deal. Chase gives free accounts to Vets. Arizona state credit union gives headaches. One more thing, doesn't it make you wonder WHY they changed their name? Doesn't it sound fishy to you?? read more

I am STILL whole-heartedly happy to bank here. But I really expect everything here to be better than one of the big three. So when I went in to the Cottonwood branch to hopefully convert and deposit some Aussie dollars left over from my vacation I was disappointed to be told "No, we don't accept Australian Dollars". I sadly recalled my days of banking with Chase when they gladly accepted my leftover British Pounds and on another occasion, Singapore Dollars without a problem. I'm letting this one slide because there are still a multitude of reasons to go with a credit union or local bank over one of the large corporate banks. That being said, these guys have to offer the same products with better service to compel more people to make the switch. Offering foreign exchange on at least the major currencies (Euro, British Pounds, Australian, Hong Kong and Singapore Dollars, Swiss Francs, Japanese Yen and Chinese Yuan) would make these guys more competitive. Maybe I'm expecting too much but if I had my way, we'd all be banking locally. But until these guys can offer what the big guys are, I don't see that happening. read more

I got cash from their ATM machine but the machine failed to give me my card back. I called them the next day and was told by a very rude clerk that I could not speak to anyone at the branch and that they would not open the machine to retrieve my card due to "security issues." As a result, I had to cancel this bank card and re-order a new bank card which cost me $20 from my bank. It also took a week to arrive - something to consider, you probably don't want to be without cash and a bank card for a week. I later contacted the credit union by email and was informed that when the ATM machine keeps a card it automatically shreds it. There seems to be some conflicting information as to whether this is true or not. The research I've done suggests that these machines do not have the technology to "shred" a card, but rather what happens is when the machine is opened to add cash (sometimes this is bank personnel, but if the machine is located outside of the bank building it probably is a 3rd party company), the cards that the machine has kept fall into a little basket of sorts, and the person servicing the machine simply shreds/disposes of the cards. read more
