It is hard to write this review because I have been a member of OneAZ Credit Union (Arizona State Federal Credit Union when I joined) since 2005 and for the most part, I have always received good service. That is until I traveled to Europe last week (Sept. 2nd, 2018). Before I left the US, I made sure I placed a travel advisory with them and informed them of the countries I would be visiting. They confirmed I would have access to my money via international ATMs. Well, imagine you get to Scandinavia, one of the most expensive regions in Europe where you have to pay for your toilet in cities like Copenhagen, and you cannot get any money out of the ATM. Zero money when you are abroad. It was a scary situation, and it made me rethink seriously my choice of a banking institution. I had a little cash at hand, but in order for me to survive 2 weeks I had to borrow money from a close friend that lives Denmark, and use my credit cards until I got home. Back in the US, I called OneAZ and they informed me that they had placed a block in my account, even when I did my due diligence and let them know I was traveling abroad. OneAZ uses third party Company called Falcon (-1-888-918-7313) which manages their anti-fraud activities and was the one that placed the anti-fraud block right before I left the country. There is no communication between both companies, and One AZ is unable to lift a block on their own system unless a Falcon representative does. Their only account verification (and communication) is by phone. They said they tried calling me to verify the account. Of course, while abroad I was unable to answer any calls, and could not verify my account even if I wanted too. When I discussed with OneAZ, they say they were sorry. However, there was no real effort to try to win me back as a customer or to offer compensation for the inconvenience. I will be pulling all my money out today, and going to bank somewhere else. Truly awful experience. I tried to update my current mailing address, first online - the site would not let me in - and then in person by phone. I "failed" their questions (in spite of giving SS and other personal information) and they then insisted I come in person into a branch, refused to talk further with me. Needless to say, I am yanking both accounts and moving them elsewhere. read more

I absolutely LOVE doing all our banking with One AZ Credit Union. We used the Oro Valley branch, and the staff there are absolutely top notch! So very friendly, and always helpful - even when it is busy. They are using all Covid precautions, and take care to be sure you are OK. I had an issue with a bill pay that went to Medicare. They claim they never received the money. First call to customer service I was given info that ck had been sent and was paid. I needed a copy and was informed I needed to go to a branch. I went to my local branch and that was pretty useless. Was told that a ck wasn't sent but instead was an electronic transfer deal, so no ck to get a copy of. Back and forth with Medicare including a 3 way call confirmed a ck was sent. Bottom line, it was Amber at OneAz who found the info I needed, I do have a copy of the ck and without her assistance I'm not sure this could have been resolved as fast. So kudos to phone customer service and thumbs down for branch customer service. read more

Going to switch all my direct deposits back to my california bank again, this credit union is inconsistent sometimes my direct deposit shows up Thu sometimes it shows up Fri, i dont like that just pick a day and be consistent. So I made the switch from oneaz back to my cali credit union glad I switched because they dont hold on to my direct deposit extra long, I got paid today!! an entire day early wohoo i agree with Timothy G, read his post he is 100% correct, if u want to have this bank hold your money an extra 24 hours then this is the bank for you lol, i like having my money asap to pay bills, i cancelled all direct deposits with this bank. read more

I had a panic-strickened moment regarding an online transfer from OneAZ Credit Union to another credit union. I went to OneAZ Credit Union on Happy Valley Rd. to get some assistance and Cayley, Assistant Branch Manager, was instrumental in helping me. If not for her, I would still be in a state of question as to where my money went in the online transaction. I dislike the fact, if disputing an item, that has posted to your checking account. You have to write a letter. In this day and age of technology. Get with it! I honestly feel, you are made to write in, as they know most members won't or even have the time. Horrible experience. I've been banking for 57 years of my life and this organization has been a nightmare from day one. They charge you to stop your membership. They have so many ridiculous charges that normal banks don't charge. Be aware; no one will explain this when you take out a loan BUT you cannot get away from them without paying hundreds. Another thing is you cannot pay additional payments to any type of mortgage or equity line without physically going inside a branch. Now that is decades behind times. Stay away from this shoddy institution. SOME employees are very nice; not the tellers, though. read more

I would never work with this bank again in my life, customer service is Terrible and they absolutely don't know what they are doing. I have been transferred multiple times and no one can give me an answer to my question which is super simple. Also was told by them to wait a week and call back and once i have done that, they told me my payment went up because i have waited and now its over 1k, I spoke to their manager Jeane Evers and she told me there is noting we can do because you waited. I wanted to have a local credit union, and thought I was making a good choice by picking OneAZ. I was sadly mistaken. After several issues with their app, mobile check deposit, the limited hours, etc. I decided to start moving my money to another bank. When OneAZ saw that I had the minimum balance in my account, they took the liberty of closing my account and not informing me. Then when I called to ask what happened to my account, they said that they closed it, I asked for my money and they said they used it to pay the no account activity fee. I would definitely not recommend this credit union to anyone! read more

I would give a zero star but not an option. Second $80k car I have bought and used AZ One and this second time has been horrible. I decided to sell my car and had an out of state buyer. Buyers had BofA send a payoff check to overnight address AZ One provided. After a couple days I called the credit union to see if it had posted and they said no. Well, that's odd, should have been there by now. I notified buyer who then contacted their bank BofA. Bank reported that the check was signed for by ********* name in the mail room at 1:08pm Thursday. Should have cleared. Now I started the calling game. One visit to a Branch and at least 8 calls over 4 days no help. They LOST the signed for check, then made it sound like maybe the check was never sent, even after we told them BofA shows it was signed for and the name that signed for it was verified to be the mail room clerk........ yet that was not good enough. Too bad, have them cancel the check and send a new one!?? Wow, where did the check go? Just within one bldg. Last time I use these guys. 800+ credit I can go anywhere. read more

I've been with this "Credit Union" for more than three years so I can say, without hesitation, that they SUCK! I keep a huge sum of money in this bank, including investment accounts, and when I try and get some cash out I'm treated like Al Capone. Today I went to deposit nearly $400,000 with a check from an escrow co. a mile away, drawn from National bank of AZ which is across the street from OneAZ and I was told, by the branch manager, that I could ONLY get $100 and the rest in nine days!!! Well, FU! I walked across the street to National bank of AZ, opened an account with my $400,000, they gladly handed me $5,000 in cash and told me the full balance would be available by midnight. I will now close ALL of my accounts at oneAZ, over 6 figures, and move them to National across the street. OneAZ sucks, the management sucks, they think YOUR money belongs to them. They make a ton of money off other peoples money and give to nothing in return, so I expect to be treated like it's MY money. read more

I've had the worst experience at OneAZ CU then any I've ever had at any bank or credit union. Representative Farrah Smallcanyon in the HELOC department provided the worst service I've ever received. She failed to get back to me on many occasions. She failed to answer my questions. Due to her lack of care or interest, my wife and I lost a house we put an offer in on. We had many other options. However, OneAZ told us we were approved and there would be no problems. I will never, ever, recommend anyone to do business with a this business again. If you are a contractor don't even bother with trying to get an auto loan at this credit union. It will be the most frustrating process you have ever been through. They string you along and ask you for everything except a DNA test just to tell you they can't approve you even with an 800 credit score and 11 years of flawless credit. read more

I've kept this account for a few years hoping that their services would improve so that I could use it as my primary checking with bill pay. The third party bill pay causes more trouble than it's worth, there are very few brick and mortars, and their products are not competitive enough for what they (really don't) provide. While writing this, I realized it's time to close the account and call it a day. I'll be doing that this week. Experiment over. read more

Terrible institution. I deposited two cashier checks -- one from Wells Fargo and another from Northern Trust (both checks easily verifiable) and this place held both almost two weeks. I have NEVER once made one withdrawal from any of my accounts at this bank -- essentially all I have ever done is deposits and auto withdrawals for my auto payment I had with them. Yet, they still thought I must have been a criminal -- even with substantial funds (tens of thousands) on deposit at the bank. Tells you they can't make rational decisions. I thought Wells Fargo was bad, but this one takes the cake. This was a second bank to me that I was planning to make my primary. Thankfully that never happened. This is about the organization, I am not writing about one specific location. I have only gone to the downtown location. Terrible. Avoid this place. read more

My husband and I have an auto-loan through OneAZ and we were initially drawn to them due to their low-interest rates. Over the course of the last 2 years that I have been paying my auto-loan, I have not had trouble with OneAZ until recently. In December, I was charged a late fee due to a "system change" (reps words) that I was not notified of or given any explanation for. The rep we worked with reversed the fee, confirmed our payment amount and due date moving forward. I thought I had an understanding of what was due and when. I just found out today, after answering a call from OneAZ, that I have been charged continuous late fees for being short **THIRTY-THREE CENTS**, which I was also not aware of (mind you, I have had to call into OneAZ a few times ((Just last week to update my address, actually!)) since December and was never notified of these late fees when speaking to a rep). When I explained to the rep on the phone that I was not aware of the additional $.33 that was due and that I've never had a problem making my payments, she completely ignored my frustrations and proceeded to tell me to "ensure I'm paying the correct amount each month." I would not recommend OneAZ to any of my friends or family due to the frustration that I have experienced personally. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. PEOPLE please please avoid this credit union for any home loan, They were the worst from day one. The loan officer lied about fees and interest rates. Call center .. forget about getting help or solve any problem with them. So far I was on hold for over 3 hours and 45min just to be able to submit my monthly payment. Their website is the most basic version and the payment page got locked for no reason. It is funny they don't even want you to make a payment. They charge $11 dollars if they pick up the phone to make a phone payment. people pick up the phone after 2 hours and they keep passing you to the next and next and next person and finally, the phone goes over the survey and call ends. I don't know who I can complain to since nobody would pass the phone to a manager or in-charge person, I asked couple of people to please pass the phone to your manager and they hang up the phone on me or transfer me to another department to stay on hold. its 15th of the month and I don't know how to make my payment to not pass my due date. Lisa H. I have been a member since early 1986. You are correct. They are not user friendly. The employees are friendly in the branches, but the banking practices ate not designed to draw in more customers, or keep them. I do most of my banking here. But I have three other checking accts at other CU's and one bank. This is due to their practices. I never deposit any checks onto my acct. I only use auto deposit and electronic payments. I dont even keep checks for this acct. I have had them tell me that they would not let me sign Their document in front of their employee and have them send it internally to another branch to remove my name of a joint acct ( was in hood standing in all accts), because they said they dont witness signatures! Of your own documents! For your own accts! They witness my signature everytime someone opens or closes, but would not do it one branch, in Flag to the Mesa Branch????!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company to handle your mortgage at any location. My escrow is messed up now and other important documentation was done wrong or not at all since day one. So it is always something. I call and no one knows what is going on. I am told I would be called back and or emailed with updates on the multiple issues I've had and still nothing. I have been a member of this credit union since 1993. However, retrieving information and having transactions recorded properly has been a consistent problem over 24 years. The past 30-days was the worst ever. I sent three payments electronically. Two were applied to the wrong account and one was returned to US Bank because they could not locate my 24-year old account. Very disappointed in OneAZ. Horrible customer service. I tried to call the branch but kept getting a recording that no one was available so the call is automatically thrown into their call center. This happens a lot with OneAZ. Arona anwsered the phone and started asking all her many, many questions. After giving her my account number, date of birth, home address, how long they had my car loan, the year of the car I purchase and my phone number she insisted I give her my SSN. I declined to give her my SSN because my account had been hatch 3 times. I have always called in the pass and never was asked my SSN. At the point she refused to help me. I asked to speak to her manager and of course she said she was in a meeting as they always give as their stock answer. I told I know that was not true and I would not hang-up until I speak to a manager. Miraculously within a minute her manager got on the phone, Collette. Collette was very cold and also refused to help me with the issue I was having with my debit card. She recommended I drive the half hour to the credit union. Finally I was able to get ahold of someone in the branch and I didn't have to give her my SSN, funny how that works. I know customer service was just giving me a hard time and were being difficult. Unfortunately, the branch could answer why I was having a problem with my debt card. It's time to get a new credit union/bank. Save yourself a headache and go elsewhere. read more

Someone used my credit card number to take Uber rides that totaled $1003. The credit union called me the next day and asked if I took the rides. I said "NO", and they asked me to come to their office to get a new card. I waited a few months for the money to be refunded, but it never was. I called the credit union and they kept telling me I didn't dispute the charges. I disputed the charges over the phone and in their office. I have gone up a few levels of the chain of command without success. One man helped for a little while, but I haven't heard from him in over 3 weeks. I'm a Senior Citizen living on less than $900 from Social Security. I've also been a member of the credit union for 40 years. I can't believe they would treat a member this way. If they don't refund the $1003. I will be taking my money elsewhere. Please check your statements to make sure they aren't cheating you. read more

To sum up my experience with One AZ in one word it has to be "unprofessional". Horribly trained, uncaring staff. Talk to 3 different people, you will get 3 completely different answers. Paid vehicle loan off early. Had to call 3 times over almost 2 weeks to get them to release the lien. Was told twice the lien had been released only to find out they had done nothing. Still waiting. Extremely disorganized and poorly trained staff. The website is clunky and limited to what you can do. Would expect more from a financial institution. They acknowledge their errors without ever offering an apology. Have to call them multiple times just to be sure they do what they are supposed to do. Never dealt with such poor service with any financial company like this before. Hope to finish my business with them (assuming they ever release the lien paid off going on 2 weeks ago) and never do business with this company again despite any interest rate deals. Don't bank here! I have had so many negative experiences with them but the latest is trying to get a refinancing loan with them. They required me to spend around $500 to put flooring into my bedrooms (based on the appraisal) and then denied my loan. It took forever to decide about the loan and I had to contact supervisors and managers to get anywhere. They refused to consider income from an employer I've been with for almost three years. They would not give me any substantial reason for the denial. I have never been denied a loan before. They do not contact you with any information on the loan process. I had to call and call and email them to get any response. They would not answer questions about their loan process so I could understand what they needed and why. I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau. It has been the most difficult, frustrating, ridiculous financial experience I have EVER had. They are basically incompetent and provide NO customer service whatsoever. BEWARE! read more

I'd give zero starts if I could.... Tempe location is the worst! Their atm wasn't working yesterday when I tried to deposit cash to make sure things didn't bounce. Went it today and they say sorry nothing we can do would've put it in the night drop. Why am I going to put cash in the night drop?! So whatd they do? Hit me with 3 overdraft fees and won't reverse them! This isn't the first problem I've had with them either. And when I was talking to the assistant bank manager he was laughing about it! I am very sad to have to write this review I have been a member of this bank for over 10 years now. I have always received amazing service. However since this bank did a technology upgrade it has made my life much harder. Like many people I work very hard for my money but still live pay check to pay check. For years past my bank always posted my funds the night prior to my pay check date which was very convient knowing my check would be avalible first thing Friday morning. I always set up direct payments for Friday morning when my check goes in. Last week my check didn't post u til 6am which was upsetting but I luckily didn't have any payments scheduled. I called the bank to ask why my check was late. They informed me of the upgrade. Which I understand. I asked if should chance my scheduled payments and was told this would not be nessary as the bank will always post my check prior to any scheduled payments. What a lie this turned out to be. I was hit with payments and over draft fee prior to my check posting. Now 9:15 am and still no check. Called bank and was told they would have it deposited to my account in 30 mins. I would have to call back on Monday to have the NSF fee removed. I just spent 40 mins on hold and low I have to do this again on monday! The person I spoke with told me to set up my auto payments for later in the day on Friday. This is not possible they are scheduled payment arrangements I don't set the time the payments get posted to my account only the day. Was informed I would have to call every week to have the NSF fees removed. What kind of service is this? I am fine with my check not depositing before midnight on Friday morning. But it should at the very least go in some time soon after midnight on Friday. Every one of my coworkers who use other banks in AZ have there checks deposited shortly after midnight. I felt bad for the man I spoke with at One AZ Credit Union as he was noticeably frantic. Dealing with call after call from upset members. I was very polite to him as I know it is not his fault. But obvious other people have been taking their frustrations out on him. One AZ employees have always been helpful and polite. It's a shame they have to now deal with upset customers. And a shame bank members have to deal with this added headache. I for one will unfortunately be looking for a new bank. It's a shame because I loved my bank but now I am forced to go elsewhere. I hope that they figure out a way to fix this. Again not looking for my check a day early but soon after midnight as I finish writing this it is 20 mins after bank opened for the day and still no check in my account. Please get your act togeather as I am sure I will not be the first member or last to leave your bank due to this technology upgrade. read more

Unfortunately I have to agree with some of these negative reviews. 1) I bought and home and moved to AZ and went to a credit union due to my great success with credit unions where I moved from. They missed the closing date even though it was a long 3 month escrow. According to management the loan officer never turn in the file but underwriting had asked multiple questions that were answered and accepted. When they realized their mistake they declined the loan. I let them know I would seek damages and they asked why since I had never been approved. I provided my approval letter from them and they did the loan. Incompetent. 2) The previous comments about not recognizing deposits on the weekend is interesting. You were wrong that they are behind the times and correct that they make money off of stealing from members. They charged me an NSF fee for a pre scheduled transaction that came out on Sunday. So they do process withdrawals on the weekend. I transferred the funds from my "linked" savings account but they recognized the transfer after the withdrawal so they could charge fees. 3) Go into a branch and ask any teller to do anything, even a basic deposit, and they will need help. They have the lowest level of competence of any bank I've ever dealt with. No wonder they are running huge hiring campaigns and changed their name. read more
