Tis the season of showing love and O positive is a perfect gift. This is my first time as a whole blood donor and it was pleasant. It didn't physically hurt. There was slight discomfort but I believe most of the pain is Apprehension and Anxiety. Get rid of those A-holes, and it's all good. Staff professional and friendly. I forgot her name but she answered all my questions and then some. Gave me one of all the stickers she had for my girl, packed me an extra Coke, tucked a long sleeved tshirt into my bag and cheerfully said "I'll see you next month! You get a blanket in January." I'm a total sucker for a good blanket. Even better though, I'm a sucker for a good cause. Share your power, it won't cost you a single dime. What you give is invaluable and that philanthropic feeling you get from giving? Priceless.

I'm a pretty good with the whole process of giving blood, but there are always a few nerves before getting stuck. My phlebotomist, Von, was excellent! Von chatted me up like a long lost friend easing any lingering nerves I had. She checked for allergies, told me when to squeeze, when to rest, and when to look away, if I needed to. Made sure I was doing well at every step of the way. Overall the Bus I was on was clean and appeared to be well organized. I interacted with everyone working the bus and all of them was both professional and a pleasure to communicate with. Offering instructions when needed, answering any questions, as well as ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. They offered both a Drink and a snack. There was a long sleeved shirt giveaway for donating.

My brother is in town visiting from the DC area and he suggested we donate blood after seeing the…read morebloodmobile in the Home Depot parking lot in Durban Creek town Center.He is someone who donates on a very frequently basis where this was my first time. We entered Blood mobile number 16 and were greeted initially by Courtney who I have to say put you at ease immediately with her genuine smile and outstanding customer service skills. She's required to ask some invasive questions but she does so in such a way that you felt comfortable and did not feel you were being judged. She was supportive, friendly, and most helpful in explaining the process. She truly is patient centered. Next I had Brian as the phlebotomist; where to begin with him? His technique was superb and in fact every time I have to give blood for the doctor I always end up with large bruises for days on end because I have hard veins to stick. Though the stick in my left arm did produce a tad bit of blood it did not work because I started to clot. Brian skillfully moved to my right arm and did so efficiently and effortlessly. I have to say that his technique was by far the best I have ever experienced because at the end of the day I had no bruises. The right arm flowed like the Mississippi River and they got what they needed! Overall I was most impressed with Courtney and Brian; one blood should be very proud and honored to have such fine professionals help someone make a difference. Thank you Brian, and thank you Courtney I will be back.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a Goodwill Donation Center close to my house. I typically have…read moretaken my donations to the Jax Beach location. I called ahead to ask if I needed to take my donations around back. I was advised there was parking in the front. When I arrived there were two designated donation parking spots. I took one of the spots as I had five large bags to donate. I got out of my car and snapped a picture for Yelp. By the time I check in and added my photo the front door to the donation center was propped open. A young man came out and assisted me with carry my bags inside. He then asked if I wanted a receipt and I advised yes please. He pushed a button on a machine on the wall and handed me a receipt with instructions for setting up a Goodwill account and completing an itemized receipt. Pretty smooth transaction. I'll drop off more donations at this location in the future.

Somebody answered and said "this is a donation center for donations." Ha! Parked in one of the two designated parking spots for donations. I thought that was convenient, not that people in Florida abide by such signs or rules. I grabbed a bag of donations and walked in to find an empty desk. I placed the bag down and peeked in the back. A lady was on the phone and held up a finger to me like "one moment." I went and got the rest of the donations and put them down on the floor. I donate without wanting a receipt so I left. That lady is probably still on the phone to this day.

It takes less than thirty minutes between blood pressure and heart rate check, answer health questionnaire, and blood donation. Donating plasma takes longer so it's one and done for me. I'll stick with whole blood donation going forward :) Last time I donated, I received a $10 gift card from Red Lobster, $10 e-gift card, and a tie die shirt. I've received gift cards from Walmart, Publix, and Red Robin depending on where the One Blood Mobile Bus is setup. Sometimes, they provide water and snacks too. Can't beat that! The young women here are friendly but unfortunately every single time I have requested a document, records release, even my referral here etc it has taken at least three tries/phone calls or office visits to have things taken care of properly. Due to misinformation, miscommunication, and simply a lack of communication and execution among the team has been the cause of this. I have been told my information has been lost, that my requests were never passed along from whomever I spoke to. I was never contacted to schedule an appointment when my referral was received, I was never contacted to receive the information they needed to get me started with appointments, it took over a month of waiting for the office to reach out to schedule, which they never did, only after myself reaching out multiple times was I able to finally get scheduled and continue care after temporarily relocating from another state. Now as I transfer back to my original state and needing records transferred I have been told three times now that I had filled out the form incorrectly, when in fact I followed the exact instructions of the office staff. It should not have to be my responsibility to continually call or check in to make sure things are being done properly. It's sad to say but I am grateful to be transferring to a different office to continue my prenatal care, I can't imagine the other mothers who may have had similar experiences or the many mothers who rely on translators and have an additional language barrier. I hope things turn around for this office

She was very warm and welcoming, a great start. Next I had the privilege of working with Christine who was the MA. What a great sense of humor she had and a gift at making people feel at ease. A true role model for customer-centered care!! Janelle, The office supervisor was the one that checked me out. I can see why the staff is so phenomenal, it starts with her and works its way across the office. She was phenomenal I wished I had enough euphemisms describe how great this practice is!! Janelle Has a strong attention to detail and is most customer centered. Yet another role model of what customer service it should be. Dr. Kafrouni was truly outstanding. He listened, asked open ended questions, he had a genuine interest in me as a patient. This is a rare find for a doctor; he was most approachable and was very thorough and his assessment. Later I found out that he is the hospital administrator, which even was more impressive because not only he was truly down to earth but he puts his patients first! That is a true role model as well. Overall I can honestly say I don't think I have ever felt comfortable in a medical practice to the extent of this one. Starting from the moment I walked in till I left, I felt valued as a person!!
