I'm a pretty good with the whole process of giving blood, but there are always a few nerves before getting stuck. My phlebotomist, Von, was excellent! Von chatted me up like a long lost friend easing any lingering nerves I had. She checked for allergies, told me when to squeeze, when to rest, and when to look away, if I needed to. Made sure I was doing well at every step of the way. Overall the Bus I was on was clean and appeared to be well organized. I interacted with everyone working the bus and all of them was both professional and a pleasure to communicate with. Offering instructions when needed, answering any questions, as well as ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. They offered both a Drink and a snack. There was a long sleeved shirt giveaway for donating.

We entered Blood mobile number 16 and were greeted initially by Courtney who I have to say put you at ease immediately with her genuine smile and outstanding customer service skills. She's required to ask some invasive questions but she does so in such a way that you felt comfortable and did not feel you were being judged. She was supportive, friendly, and most helpful in explaining the process. She truly is patient centered. Next I had Brian as the phlebotomist; where to begin with him? His technique was superb and in fact every time I have to give blood for the doctor I always end up with large bruises for days on end because I have hard veins to stick. Though the stick in my left arm did produce a tad bit of blood it did not work because I started to clot. Brian skillfully moved to my right arm and did so efficiently and effortlessly. I have to say that his technique was by far the best I have ever experienced because at the end of the day I had no bruises. The right arm flowed like the Mississippi River and they got what they needed! Overall I was most impressed with Courtney and Brian; one blood should be very proud and honored to have such fine professionals help someone make a difference. Thank you Brian, and thank you Courtney I will be back.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a Goodwill Donation Center close to my house. I typically have…read moretaken my donations to the Jax Beach location. I called ahead to ask if I needed to take my donations around back. I was advised there was parking in the front. When I arrived there were two designated donation parking spots. I took one of the spots as I had five large bags to donate. I got out of my car and snapped a picture for Yelp. By the time I check in and added my photo the front door to the donation center was propped open. A young man came out and assisted me with carry my bags inside. He then asked if I wanted a receipt and I advised yes please. He pushed a button on a machine on the wall and handed me a receipt with instructions for setting up a Goodwill account and completing an itemized receipt. Pretty smooth transaction. I'll drop off more donations at this location in the future.

Somebody answered and said "this is a donation center for donations." Ha! Parked in one of the two designated parking spots for donations. I thought that was convenient, not that people in Florida abide by such signs or rules. I grabbed a bag of donations and walked in to find an empty desk. I placed the bag down and peeked in the back. A lady was on the phone and held up a finger to me like "one moment." I went and got the rest of the donations and put them down on the floor. I donate without wanting a receipt so I left. That lady is probably still on the phone to this day.

Tis the season of showing love and O positive is a perfect gift. This is my first time as a whole blood donor and it was pleasant. It didn't physically hurt. There was slight discomfort but I believe most of the pain is Apprehension and Anxiety. Get rid of those A-holes, and it's all good. Staff professional and friendly. I forgot her name but she answered all my questions and then some. Gave me one of all the stickers she had for my girl, packed me an extra Coke, tucked a long sleeved tshirt into my bag and cheerfully said "I'll see you next month! You get a blanket in January." I'm a total sucker for a good blanket. Even better though, I'm a sucker for a good cause. Share your power, it won't cost you a single dime. What you give is invaluable and that philanthropic feeling you get from giving? Priceless.

We gave the clerk a prescription for his blood draw that would allow him to donate every 4-weeks. We were told their location doesn't do those and he would need to make an appointment at a location across town. That was frustrating and it would have been nice to know ahead of time. I went ahead and began completing the questionnaire and the tech got me started. The staff offered me a drink and snack and made sure to keep checking on me while we waited for the blood donation to be complete. As always you get a thank you gift for donating. She was able to find a vein in my arm very quickly and get a needle in with little more than an "ouch." The actual blood donation took about 10 minutes for me (basic whole blood donation), it took longer to do the computer work to sign me up. The whole experience was pleasant. My mom sees Dr. Kani frequently and just recently, I had a vein procedure done here. Each time my…read moremom or I have an appointment, we never had to wait more than 15 minutes. The front desk personal are always professional and the waiting area always clean with plenty seating. Dr. Kani is very nice and patient when it comes to helping my mother with all of her heart/artery problems. The only problem I have with doctors in general, this statement is not limited to Dr. Kani only, is that when it was time for my vein procedure, he tells me that it's not going to hurt, that I would barely feel anything! Wrong!!! I'm not sure why they make this statement when they have never been through the procedure themselves. Not to mention, my tolerance for pain is different from others so why not just say, a certain percentage had pain, this percentage did not feel pain. ‍ Having said that, you better believe when it's time to have my right leg done, they will not touch me unless they give me a Valium or ???? Lol. So to end on a good note, Dr. Kani and his staff are great! If my 84 year old mother loves them, so do I!

Emily was rude and unprofessiona, she didn't walk me thru the proces, I was in pain my heart was palpitating and when it was all done she drag the sheet off of me and said you are done you can leave. wow!! I was in total shock of her attitude towards me. This is the first I have been there, and I hope is my last. I told her you need to show sympathy towards your patient. She just didn't care. I hate to use the black card, maybe she has a problem with black people. the only thing i know is that I never want to go back to that place again never.

The staff's names have been listed JP, Aj, Trell, Kierra, Mr. Will, Samone'e, and Tekerra hazel, and a couple of more donor staffs that I have missed but willing to acknowledge them all have been a blessing to me and my lifestyle of helping to save lives. including the new staff that is beginning to learn the process has been working hard to get people in and out in a decent time frame the front counter to the back of the donor's floor making sure all donors are managing a healthy lifestyle to donate so we all can become some help. I want to also add the cleanliness of the facility the bathroom was cleaned and stocked that was my biggest complaint as well and thank you again bring back the music in the facility as we wait for the process to screened also with the water cups for the fountain drinks and please don't forget the crackers. they have extremely long wait times for an crazy amount of time. when you first get there to check…read morein they can take forever, they will see a line and still get up to do other things. if it is slow they feel as though they can move slow so they have no urgency for their customers, you can clearly tell they get paid by the hour not per person. also they had 6 workers in the back all standing in a huddle talking which they are supposed to be either setting up or sticking people and hanging out waiting for the line to build and 9 empty seats. I feel like if they are on break they need to take it to the break room because that's how it seemed. I shouldn't have to wait 30 minutes for a line to build if I'm the only person or just a few people. it went from 4 people in line to 20 within 25 minutes and we haven't moved. They have just now told us they have to get bottles from the back and clearly they are making the bottles from scratch or didn't have their supplies. definitely recommend another donation facility if you have places to be and things to do.
